- Minecraft is finally available in VR. But is it any good? Well, the draw distance isn't great, there are some bugs, and it isn't comfortable enough for hours of play. But it's Minecraft. In VR. So it's amazing.

I swear it feels like an extremely early version of SAO.
I went at it for an hour last night and never did find any way to start a massive MFR factory. It is TOTALLY not FTB Infinity, lol. But is it cool? OMG yes. Every time I leaned over into a pit or hole or cave I was like "Whoa!". Just stepping down into a two block deep hole feels like plunging into the depths of the earth at first. Takes a LOT of getting used to but the depth effect is pretty amazing. Can't wait to start building towers and such to see what it looks like to look down from 30+ meters up. Right now I'm just focusing on torching the local area and scratching up some basic survival... and re-teaching myself how to make effective mob farms in Vanilla MC. It's been a while...
If you're still playing the VR version, could you tell me how up to date it is? Just curious to know if I should buy it

the first time I played Minecraft was on Gear VR. very immersive and fun when played with headphones.
buy the "Matricom G-pad BX wireless" controller, it's like $60 cheaper than the Samsung one

I have played this using the oculus rift, its awesome! I love the roller coaster minecraft maps the best, they are so much fun. I am so gonna do more vids on it. Loved your vid mate :)

I've never played Minecraft. Thinking of buying it because I have Gear VR. This video helped somewhat in my decision.
I was able to sideload it on my quest and it’s amazing without the limitations of the gear vr
I plan to buy it on Gear VR. But I'm worried that the controller problem is really serious as all the newest review said.

It would be if it wasn't a Gear VR exclusive and could be played on non Samsung phones with any Cardboard compatible headset... Because even that market is a niche, now imagine the market of people having a powerful Samsung smartphone, an official Gear VR, a Bluetooth controller, and the will to play this game...

I have note 4 version and works great, and you can put the draw distance up pretty high if u want, best version for me, build on my phone on pe, and can go into the world I built, it's really the best game right now for gear

To all those folks who are confused, This IS Minecraft PE just on a different device with different controls and interface. Much like how the Windows 10 edition is the same as MCPE just on a different device with different controls and interface. VR headsets still fail to give me that illusion of being present in a different space. Infact it kinda improves my hearing so I understand where certain objects are in my room, somewhat like echolocation and then just recognizing the white-noise some objects make in my room.

It's pretty amazing. One thing you don't realize is how big a minecraft block is, until you're in the game. A minecrat block is about 1 meter cubed. It's basically up to your waist, and just as wide.

Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB costs 750$ and comes with Gear VR included. Nexus 6P costs hundred less for the 64GB model. Which one to get? Clean android and the design of 6P seems very nice.

there great games on gear vr but most of them are demo length. I wish they would make a full version of tectera and a multiplayer update for end space. Also ravensword in minecraft graphics would rock my world.
