- First impression on the @crossbreedholsters Modular Bellyband 2.0 is very positive. Product includes a real holster that holds your gun securely. Band is thick, wide and holds tight. I've only run with it once, but it was very comfortable and I really don't have any complaints so far.
UPDATE: I’ve moved away from the CB Bellyband in favor of the PHLster Enigma. The CB was too hot and more restrictive that I would have liked. The Enigma works really well so far. Check out the video here:
• PHLster Enigma - Best ...
Thank brother. Just got mine in the mail was looking for the setup!
Good stuff. Hope you like it too. I need to get off my butt and run today!
Good video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching. Still happy with my purchase. Keeps me motivated to run too.
Great video. I have this one myself as well as their earlier ICE version. As you said, this one is definitely an improvement. Sweet range set up...I'm hopefully headed to shoot a new Christmas present tomorrow.
Thanks. I have switched to the Phlster Enigma for running now. I find it more comfortable and easier to conceal. Still, the belly band is a good option for many people.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship definitely all about what works for you. I just returned my Enigma Express... they were easy to deal with... but their system didn't work for me. Amazing marketing...but in the end it wasn't for me.
Totally understand. I tell people all the time that you have to find what works for you. I also encourage people to buy from companies that have friendly return policies. Holsters of all types are very personal and you’ve got to find what works for you.
Excellent. I’ll consider buying
Also recommend checking out the Phlster Enigma as well. I use it exclusively while running now and find it to be a better solution for running with a concealed handgun
Great video! Mine came in today, works great with my G19X
Glad it was useful for you. I’ve pretty much switched to the Phlster Enigma for running now. It’s a more minimalist option and more comfortable for me.
Great review!
Thanks. Check out my Phylster Enigma review. I actually much prefer to run with it now.
Thank you for posting.
Hope it was useful for you!
@@sheepdogmarksmanship Yes Sir it sure was. I just ordered one thanks to your helpful review of the product. Thanks again.
Great video
Thanks for this video. New to conceal carry and been experimenting on which set up works best for me. I bought holsters, gun belt, and belly bands. I wanted something modular that easily transfers from my person to my car to my house. This VELCRO set up works perfect in my opinion.
For me, it’s a continual search for improvement and perfection. I don’t think I’ll ever be completely satisfied with any setup…something can always improve. Glad the video was useful.
Thanks for this video! After watching Lena Miculek's recent video where she's made it her goto band I decided to order one and cannot wait to get it!! (I'm just not as trim as Lena - LOL!)
Glad you liked the video. Check out my other one on the Phlster Enigma. At the end of the day, everyone is different and what works for one of us may not work for another. There are always other things we can try too.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship I have been looking at the Phlster Enigma as well and I agree some work for certain purposes more than others. Thanks again!
I’m in Texas, so I understand the heat. It wouldn’t be bad for short trips to the store and such, but I wouldn’t want to wear it all day.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a very good option for Belly Band carry. Before seeing this > I already ordered a Blackhawk NACHO Belly Band to use for my Ruger Max 9 for when I'm wearing gym type pants. Similar to what you just showed. Oh, also > I just subbed your channel. Thanks again and God bless....
Thanks! Also check out the Phlster Enigma. It’s what I use for running now. I think it conceals really well and is more comfortable for me. That’s the worst and best part of gear…you always have more options and often find things that work better along the way.
Great video.
Thanks. Check out the Phlster video and let me know what you think. I’ve found this to be a better option for me.
Thanks brother I just ordered one
How do you like it?
It’s nice only problem is I ordered the wrong size so they’re gonna send me the right size old or large and it should’ve been a medium but so far man I really like it
Great setup if you don't have a larger body type. Maxim stretched length they offer is 47". My belly is 44, I wasn't comfortable to only have 3" to go over and secure the holster.
I ordered a modular holster for my 43x and tried with my existing Comort Tac belly band which is longer and it works great. I did however sew a couple of pieces of 4" velcro in places to position it how I wanted it
My ONLY issue with the belt is that the area behind the holster isn't big enough to keep the grip off my skin. If/when they ever remedy that, I'm buyin one FOR SURE! 😉
Gig em, nice review. Sub’d
Thanks. Gig em back at ya. If you’re near Waco, check out my defensive pistol class sometime.
Just shared this to my wife. She wants to try a belly band and it's between this and the alien gear low pro. This I think would be a better option with the versatility of positioning.
I’ve been running with it a fair amount and I’m happy with it.
Do NOT purchase the Alien Gear belt!! There is a gap at the trigger guard. I emailed Alien Gear and they said they cover 80% of trigger guard , and this is a combat cut.
This is NOT acceptable. In appendix carry your trigger guard mst be 100% covered,.
Pass on the Alien Low Pro. Useless.
@@CrochetNewsNetwork I can say I tried an Alien Gear holster a couple years ago….didn’t like it at all and returned it. Not saying that makes everything they sell bad, but my experience was not satisfactory. They DID refund my money quickly. Every holster fits differently for every person.
This one is much more versatile the alien gear. Now I have a box of alien gear sitting around.
I was looking for a velcro backed holster and I ended up buying the whole kit because the prices of the kit is close to the price of most stand alone holsters.
Great video! Thank you, very helpful. I had a question, you said you would not buy the extra magazine holder again, why was that?
There are 2 outer pockets/pouches sewn into the belt that easily hold a Glock 19 (or any double stack) magazine. I run with a G43 and an extra mag works great in the integral pouch. There is also an interior pouch that will hold your ID, credit card or some cash.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship Awesome! My EDC is a glock 43x MOS so this is great. Thanks so much!
Excellent video - thank you for posting. I'm wondering if you've seen the VNSH holster belly band and have any thought on a comparison between the two?
I have not used or tried that one. I have become a big fan of the Phlster Enigma though. It works great for me while running.
thanks I like the kydex holster in the belly band I'm not a fan of appendix carry, I can't find a position where my junk isn't directly in the path of the muzzle, perhaps too much belly, angling the gun inward. anyway.. as a lefty, just behind the hip about 7:30 ( 9:00 being 90 degrees to the left )works for me and I need the holster to be independent of my belt. you think this will work?
thanks
The belly band would not be my first choice for everyday carry. More of a niche product for a specific purpose. I would personally look at a good Kydex IWB or OWB holster for strong side carry. Lots of good options out there, but check the return policy first. Make sure you can try it out for a bit and still be able to return it if you don’t like it.
Can you do a follow up review on this product. My main concern with these types of holster is the velcro... how long will the velcro hold up?
The Velcro seems to be holding up just fine. I don’t remove the holster now that I’ve positioned it where it works best for me. I see no reason why the Velcro won’t last a very long time.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship Awesome, I'm gonna have to pick one up. Thanks for the insight!
Thanks, if they had one for FN 5.7, I would have purchased one.
I just ran with the Phlster Enigma and plan to put out a quick video on that too. It may work for you. My initial impression is very positive in using it while running.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship They also don't have for the 5.7. Phster would such a complete product if they would also make the holster.
Just got mine. My XDS drops out of the holster like a rock.
Wow. I’d definitely give them a call. Maybe they sent the holster for the wrong model? My G43 is rock solid in my holster.
@juliobetancourt5025 Please update us. I'm curious for carrying an XDS as well.
Sent it back for a refund. Didn't have time to go any further with it since I planned a country wide trip. So disappointed. I read all the reviews and was really counting on it. Even cancelled my concealed license class because of it.
@@juliobetancourt5025 sorry I didn’t work for you. I’ve had more than one time where somebody recommended a holster but it didn’t work for me. Totally understand the frustration. I recently tried the Phlster Enigma holster for running as well, but haven’t done a video on it yet. It’s certainly a different set up, but I think it has a lot of potential and my initial impressions are better than the crossbreed.
Quick question _ I have several edc's and was wondering: If I buy one Complete belly band kit for one of my guns, can I then buy only the holster portion that I can interchange for the rest of em? So basically, I buy one complete Belly Band Modular 2.0 Belt with three different holsters (one with the belt and two separately) for ALL my edc's?
I believe you can, but I’d call them to make sure.
I just received this holster yesterday..when you draw it looks as if the gun comes out easy.mine does not, either it doesnt come out or it will pull the band up as well..is there a break in time on the kydex holster?any suggestions?
I’m running a Glock 43 in their holster and it does come out easily. Since it does not have adjustable tension screws there’s really not a way to adjust how tightly the gun is held by the holster. Perhaps they sent you one that’s slightly out of spec? You may want to call and see what they suggest.
How is retention when you add the weight of a full mag?
With my Glock 43 and a spare 7 round mag I’ve had no problem with retention. I’ve thought about trying with my Sig 365xl, but really don’t see any reason to go running with that much ammo.
Did the modular holster come with the bellyband or did you have to purchase it separately?
The holster came with it. You pick the holster for your gun. I would however seriously look at the Phlster Enigma as a better alternative to the belly band. I run with the Enigma exclusively now
Any concern the Velcro may give when drawing the gun?
Not really. There’s Velcro on the back of the holster and you have a big section of the belt that goes over the outside of the holster and velcros to the belt.
Cross breed belly holster or black hawk belly holster for glock 26.
I don’t have any experience with the Blackhawk, but I took a quick look at it online. To me, the belt looks very thin compared to the Crossbreed. The Crossbreed is a sturdy material, almost like something you’d find in a back brace. It holds the gun great.
Not to mention it also feels top heavy as well
What gun are you using?
What gun are you using?
@@sheepdogmarksmanship glock 43x
@@keithtincher7223 I would definitely give them a call. I’ve had no problems with mine, but I also switched over to the Phlster enigma as my primary run set up.
Well I sent this holster back today, just couldn't get it to work for me..when trying to draw the gun it would not come out..on the 3rd time it came out along with pulling the band up..I might be wrong but I think the holster had to much retention..not sure what else it could've been
What’s your waist size? Wondering how the medium fits for size
I typically wear 34” pants/shorts. I think I measured a little higher up and it was 37-38” with tape measure. Fits well, but doesn’t give me much room to get fatter! I definitely recommend taking a couple measurements where you think you’ll want the belt to sit and go with the largest number.
@@sheepdogmarksmanship thank you!!!
I’m a 34” so this helps!
@@dnboii4404 I just went running with the Phlster Enigma and I think I like it even more than the CB. I’ll try and post a quick video
Can anyone recommend size?im a i wear 34 in jeans..would medium work or should i go with a large?
I’d go with the large. I’m same size and got the medium. It’s a little smaller than I’d like. Also, depending on your use, take a look at the Phlster Enigma. I run with it exclusively now.
@sheepdogmarksmanship was the medium to little?and did the large fit fine?
I never switched to the larger size. The medium had enough Velcro to fit, but no extra room. Large would have been a little more flexible for different guns.
Went on Amazon. They only sell the belt NOT the holster
I ordered my direct from the manufacturer
It’s too bulky and it doesn’t breath, I went with their other belly band under the N8 tactical name. It’s the best belly band I have ever used
I hadn’t seen the N8 Tactical band before. Based on a quick look of the pictures though, my main concern goes back to the lack of an actual holster. My original belly band was similar in design and the elastic material quickly got too loose for me to feel good about running with it. No doubt the CB setup is a little bulkier because it does incorporate an actual holster, but this hasn’t been a problem for me. As for breathability, I sweat like crazy year round. Doesn’t matter if it’s 50 or 90 degrees, I start sweating about 7 minutes into a run.
The n8 does have any kydex on it though, does it? I’ve never used anything other than 100% kydex so I’m afraid of something different
I have bought a few belly band holster and they don't last.
Understand. My first belly band was garbage. This one seems to be good quality and so far is holding up well. I sweat like crazy and the band is soaked every time I run. The elastic in the band, the Velcro and holster are all just as good as when I first bought it.
That prints quite a bit
Although my initial thoughts on the CB were positive, I’ve moved away from it. I use the PHLster Enigma for running now. Better concealment, cooler compared to the neoprene band, and can use a better holster.
great video. Just some constructive feedback. When you're presenting, try not to repeat things you've already said; i.e. cant, velcro, size, secure, not going anywhere. And once you've demonstrated how the velcro sticks at any angle, you don't have to keep showing that. Admittedly, us gun guys aren't that bright, but we got it. It's hard, but once you've said it once, don't return to it. It will tighten up and polish the presentation. Remember, on video, we can always go back and replay something. Love your video's.
Thanks for the feedback. I truly appreciate it. Obviously I’m an amateur when it comes to filming, but I hope to continue to give my opinions on more products!
@@sheepdogmarksmanship Yes, and that's the fun of having a channel like this is that you'll just keep getting better. I really like your content.
Only problem with these types of holsters is trigger protection.
That’s why I went with the Crossbreed…It fully covers the trigger in a real holster. It’s not just the belly band.
I have both the Blackhawk stache nacho is much better.
I no longer use this. I run with the Phlster Enigma only now. My ch better
I was considering the Enigma is it better than the Nacho?
Velcro only lasts so long and can take only minimal force to separate. Not my favorite.
Agree. I’m trying out the Phlster Enigma as another option for running. It’s so damn hot in Texas that the heavy neoprene band of the CB gets really hot right now. Still a good product IMO, but I’m always looking for something better!
This crossbreed belly band is absolute garbage! It doesn’t conceal an xmacro well at all and that pistol is one of the best ccw’s out there!
…and you’re printing like crazy on this video
Don’t know what to tell you other than holsters depend a lot on the individual. I made slight changes to position and cant with this setup that improved comfort and concealability while running. I’ve also tried many holsters that other people liked, but they didn’t work for me. Again, my sole purpose was a setup for running and this works well for me. I wouldn’t try the CB with my G19 because of size and weight. If you’re running with a Macro, I’d personally try something a little smaller/lighter. Or just return the product. I bought a Phlster Enigma for my wife and I’m going to try that while running as well….but doubt it will be more comfortable than the CB.
I like my Unity/Vertex clutch. It's my go to right now.
@@eriklambert3809 I’ve been trying out the PHLster Enigma for running and it works better than the Crossbreed belly band so far. I have a few things to work out with the PHLster, but I think it’s a better running option.
I’ve been trying the PHLster Enigma for running and I think it’s a better way to go than the belly band. I’ll still say as far as belly bands are concerned (and primarily for running…my sole purpose in trying different ones) the Crossbreed worked well.
