    Great review. Thanks! I particularly appreciated your take on who the target audience for the shoe is. A lot of reviews skip that. Yours helped me decide between Trabuco 11 and Trabuco Max 2. (The latter.)

    I have the Trabuco 11s and the sole grip is stellar. I can put full faith in them time after time over a variety of terrains. That means so much on mountain hikes and runs. The Max 2’s sole is very similar to the 11 and 12 with maybe a few less lugs. I would love to try the Max 2, but I’m a bit apprehensive about wearing them on technical terrain. For that reason, I chose the Trabuco 12 as my next shoe.

    GREAT review , very thorough !! You’re having a love fest here with these shoes!!! 😁 Mmmmmm plush!!!! That’s music to my ears!! 🥰 I picked up the V1 recently for only €80 … what a bargain !! This year I’m aiming to do my first ever trail marathon , for me that means around 5hours on my feet, so perfect shoe I think! 💪🏻🏃🏻‍♀️💪🏻

    Nice job -- it's a damn good shoe. I have 50 miles in this bad boy, and I love it. Maybe not the toebox room of some, but better than a LOT of other trail shoes out there for the long haul. Feels light, bouncy, traction-y, and forgiving. My legs feel great for hours after. Hell yes.

    • @andrewjknoxuk
      @andrewjknoxuk Před rokem +1

      Think this is the shoe for me. Can’t see the comment anymore where you replied to my question above but I don’t need the big toebox of the Topo UV3, just thought it would be better on harder terrain, I wouldn’t need deep lugs for a high stack trail shoe. I tend to go for firmer rides when it’s muddier. This shoe has a nice rocker too

    I have now used this shoe on an Oregon 50k and Colorado a Colorado 20k. Both with tons of climbing. They truly save your legs, but are pretty bad for steep down hills or narrow single track where your feet ride at an angle. Just too much flex and foot floating. Disclaimer: I am 300lbs.

    Thinking of using these for all training and racing this year but worried about them for very technical stuff. Have you heard of the seven sisters trail race in Massachusetts? It’s super gnarly in rocks and my first time running it will be this May - there is very little all out running for the race. Would love your thoughts on this shoe for that race if you had a minute to look it up. Not looking to buy 2 shoes just to race that one so wondering if the TM2 would be OK? Great review and video.

    I replaced the laces in mine with non stretching (or less stretchy) laces and work like magic. For my foot shape. The heel counter fits snug. And i wear true to size and a bit thicker socks.

    Nice review! I just finished a road half marathon with my novablast 3 trail version and loved it so much. I'm considering similar FF blast+ shoes for hiking or technical trail running. How does it feel when running on rough rock terrain or using it has hiking shoes?

    • @UltraDad

  • @andrewjknoxuk
    @andrewjknoxuk Před rokem +1

    Thanks for this! How would you compare this to the SG4 on harder terrain? I'll be running a 100K in the summer and the route will take me onto roads as I come into the villages and back up into the hills again. I find the SG4 to be a fantastic all-rounder and surprised me on the roads. Though I'm toying between the TM2 and the Topo Ultraventure 3 for that event. Wouldn't use either in muddy or technical stuff.

    • @UltraDad
      @UltraDad  Před rokem

      I think it’s ok on roads but prob not more than 3-4 miles. Lugs are pretty aggressive which is why they are mud kings

    I have a question. I really like this sneaker design, but the question is, would it be a good choice for hiking in the mountains for distances of 15 to 30 kilometers? If not, what would be the best choice in terms of comfort?

    Hi, can i use TM2 as my daily trainer for road? I rarely go to trail and why i think i am gonna buy tm2 is because of the very deep midsole + outsole durability (my assumption is true or not?) .. or do u recommend Novablast 3 instead of this for road only? my main goal are very good cushion + outsole durability..
    Really appreciate your opinion! 🤗

      Yeah this outsole is very tacky (sticky), and the lugs are just as effective.

    I just hate Asics colours... I was something like proffesional runner many years back and i just bought my first asics just now as i am trying to get back to running... But IT was really big fight for me to give it try because of colours.. they have almost no shoe that doesnt look like clown shoe to me... IS IT so hard to have like one black variant?! Anyway i have like trabuco 10 and its really good shoe i am happy that i try it... Still that colour is so Bad to me...

      Actually the black upper on white midsole is the most refecting mix for me.
      Though I must admit some colour matching at Asics, Nike or Saucony make me go pass a good pair of shoes.
      So, if not Traboco MAX, look at the Hoka Mafate⁴
      ...or Saucony Xodus² (v1 was a perfect example of ugly duckling that made me wait for v2, which in grey/black looks just fine)
