- On the 31st of December 2023, an officer was patrolling the streets when he came across an individual who looked familiar to him. This individual had a warrant out for his arrest so when the officer was able to confirm his identity, he confronted the suspect.

I wish judges and prosecutors would care what officers go through. The criminals know they will be right back out and the police will have to do it all again.
If I were a police officer I would constantly feel like I’m swimming up stream. I saw a video of a traffic stop turn into a police chase with high speeds, multiple officers and many people’s lives in danger…..dude got probation
@@kimely9621its due to overpopulation in jails/prisons and a lack of funding. so many people have long sentences for stupid stuff that it doesn’t leave the resources for real criminals. unfortunately, due to the profitability of the prison industrial complex, things will stay like this. they can make more money off this than actually fixing problems. the taxpayers are the real victims once again.

the pepper spray was brilliant. much less dangerous than a tazer, and immediately de-escalated the attempt to fight an arrest.. brilliant.
I wasn't aware how often tasers fail to deploy/connect. Pretty big gamble if the guy you're chasing is wearing multiple layers or baggy clothes
A taser is just one choice. Batons have fallen out of favor as they can cause unintended injuries. A good combo CN with pepper spray is pretty effective most of the time. But wind, helmets, distance or overspray can make it less suitable. The taser has more distance and really sucks the fight out of most people. But as you noted, it also has a few shortcomings. I carry a gun, an X26 Taser and the spray but alternate depending on where I’m going and which is more appropriate. ( my opinion only). Officers should have both as they don’t get to choose where they are going.

And it doesn’t matter now, because on the off chance the cops were mistaken now he’s going to jail for resisting regardless. Maybe if you didn’t resist arrest every time you wouldn’t get injured.

Cops these days are poorly trained and the applicant pool is a joke too. Couple that with “diversity” hiring quotas and you got a bunch of folks wanting to be cops who can’t perform the simplest of tasks. I’ve watched several videos where the cops took ten minutes or more fiddling with the handcuffs trying to get them on a suspect that three of them had on the ground

He's belligerent and obnoxious but I feel a little sorry for him. Imagine being cold and homeless and then having the cops tell you that you're going to jail on top of all that. Sometimes people just get fed up, even when their own lack of responsibility is what puts them in a bad position in the first place.
