    I wish I had found your video sooner. My 17 y/o dtr has eczema and OTC lotions either burn or offer little to no relief. I used your recipe (but substituted with hemp oil) and she said it immediately took the itch away. Your recipe has literally improved her quality of life as she has eczema on 70%+ of her body. Thank you sooo much!!!! ❤

    This is SO GREAT! Thank You! I live in Florida so it is hot all year around and my whipped body butter always came up a bit runny no matter what recipe I tried...now thanks to you I realized why 🥰 the percentage rates and how you explain it is 💯👍Amazing. Just a small hint for the piping bag...use a small sandwich bag and cut the corner in an X shape to squeeze the whip out in a perfect shape in the jar 🥰 Thanks Again!

    Thank you for this recipe! I've been on the hunt for a good, simple, body butter recipe for a long time. I used arrowroot and other carrier oils simply because it's what I had on hand and it still turns out great! It has the best texture! So silky. It quickly soaks into the skin which is nice. I highly recommend this recipe to people watching this video 🙂

      @@HumblebeeAndMe I did have a question though, if it's not too much to ask. I was wondering about your lipgloss base (beeswax). Does it need to be yellow or white? Does that matter, I believe really the only difference is the color. Also, if we don't have castor oil or jojoba oil, can we supplement it for more of jojoba oil or any oil already used? for example, the beeswax base calls for 16g of castor oil, can I substitute that for more coconut or jojoba oil? Thank you!! you're honestly amazing.

    I made this for the first time. I think because I live in an extremely hot environment, the end product felt a little oily. I added a little arrowroot powder. Turned out marvelous. The testers I gave out were a big hit. Everyone loved it. I think I will increase my butter and reduce the oil. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    I made this yesterday and it turned out very nice! I used arrowroot powder instead of cornstarch but had to use a lot more then the recipe called for (double the amount). It may have been the heat (over 30°) or maybe cornstarch has a different effect then arrowroot. Either way, I really like the feel of it! Thanks!!!

      If the formulation changes meaningfully after a few days I always try to show it-there's no hard rules on how formulations will change/set, it will depend on your environment + formulations. You will always just have to try it and see what happens :) Part of my development process is trying to make sure it doesn't change much!

    If I wanted to, could I add BTMS-50 to this?? Or does BTMS-50 work only or best with hydrous/water-inclusive recipes that call for emulsification? And can I heat the BTMS-50 alone in the microwave/oven/double boiler/stove top, or do I have to mix it with a heated oil in order for it to melt completely & properly blend with the room temperature shea butter 🧈? And if so, should the shea butter already be partially or completely whipped BEFORE I add the melted BTMS-50, or does it not matter if the shea butter is solid or not?

    Hi, If I add fragrance to my body butters is there a need to add a preservative? since some fragrances may have water content?

      It would be a 1 for 1 swap for the cornstarch-I'll always tell you if you have to change up the % for a substitution, it would be rather confusing if I didn't :)

      Hi Bobo! Shea does not need to be heated/melted, and melting opens it up to going grainy.

    Great video Marie as always. Another one I'll have to try. Marie I was wondering if you could help me please? I recently bought 100% niacinamide powder from The Ordinary. They recommend adding a quarter scoop (scoop included - teeny weeny little thing) to four drops of a serum to give between 10-15% concentration. However, the scoop is so ridiculously small it is absolutely impossible to figure out what a quarter scoop is. Could you recommend a way to make up a 10% serum at home using 100% niacinamide powder? I think it would be easier if I could make up 30ml in advance or even 15ml. At least I'd have a better chance of getting the percentage correct instead of the guess work they've left us to. Everyone is giving off reams about the scoop so I reckon it'd be a really popular video if you were to make one. Any video listing the ordinary gets thousands of hits by the looks of it. And this one is causing so much consternation (unusual for them as everyone who uses their products - including me - loves them) I already know there are a lot of people looking for a way to safely use this without causing any irritation from sprinkling too many grains into their four drops of serum. Thanks for all your great videos and info. You're a gem.

      @HumblebeeAndMe  Před 4 lety +1

      I'll keep it in mind :) In the meantime, I would recommend a scale rather than a scoop. Have you tried looking up niacinamide (Vitamin B3) in the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/)? There's more info + links to formulations using it!

    Hi, I'm not sure if this question was already answered but, I want to sell body butters (anhydrous ones) and I plan to use a preservative but I'm not sure if I should add an emulsifying wax to it?
    I hear it'll help make it less greasy, and settle on the skin faster. Do you recommend using one?
