I was stuck with big safety pins while my diapers were being changed, my baby legs were twisted very hard and it had me thinking I might never walk properly. My mother and grandmother would glare down at me like they wanted to eat me. I can also remember a time when I was still in my mother's womb, because it was a place I felt safe and sometimes wish I could go back to. I remember swishing and swaying as my mother would move her body. It felt nice. I remember hearing loud and softer voices and finally understanding I was inside something and one day I would be out there like those voices were. I remember times of light and darkness. I was "woken" up before I could talk. I became very observant because I had to. That made me who I am. My family couldn't remember what they just said a half-minute ago and I'd be able to tell them at age two. "Focus" is a tool, it's either everything or it's nothing. "Maine" says "hello" It's trying to snow right now, the snowflakes are dancing except when I go to turn on my video camera to prove it for my YT channel. Ha!

I just watched a interview with America where they said the song was written about the drive south on this road from Vandenberg Airforce Base to Ventura. So you got it right. Even the direction of travel. Goin south into Ventura. At 2:29 you pass one of the “El Camino Real Bells” that is every fifty miles or so.
When I went to school in Santa Barbara I loved this drive. The new road is so much better. Hope one day I can drive it again but this time going to Santa Barbara.
This is a good song and brings back good memories. I used to live between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I drove this portion of the Ventura Freeway many times going to and from college.
The ambience of it all is wonderful, I have driven from Orlando to Dallas as a UK tourist from the UK in the 90s buying parts for my '68 Roadrunner, then drove up to Year one in GA then to Hollywood dragstrip in MI, then to INDY Cylinder head up in IN, loved every minute of it, brand new , 0 miles '91 Crown Vic had 8500miles on it when I took it back. Awesome times back then. Still own the Roadrunner today.....vid brings it all back, miss it all dearly in this fkd up snowflake World we live in today. UK

In this interview, he recounts a story when his dad got a flat tire on Ventura Freeway (101), and he stood for a long time taking in the scenery and the "vibe". My wife and I are from Wisconsin. We flew to L.A. two years ago, rented a car and drove from Santa Monica to Ragged Point and back. Took my America CD along with us and played this song as we traveled this same stretch of highway. If you go make sure to stop at the Santa Monica pier.

HEY! Kinda disappointing that your footage cuts out just as you're coming up on Ventura from the north--just past the Ventura riverbed are the famous surfing beaches to the right, and old town to the left. Your highway approach scenes supports America's famous rhythm--but not much else.

I think when the passion for the music is too high in this way is not so bad because we feel that something go up to our hearts at the same moment that we love for something it makes dream and the best way is right when we love to do this too, so drive along a state road by a car listening a song like" ventura highway " is the best way to live a full freedom and an adventure. Why not?

They are not impressing their funders and furthermore, the country is falling behind in achievement of its agenda and goals-not producing any progress. We are in default of our Bank Loans and that is how the neglect of the country happens. We must vote in action today by asking for inclusion on the legislation of the important issues that are there to help the government provide a guarantee of provision and security for us. On our voter ballots they always include charter amendments to vote on. For 40 Years I have noticed that the content of the amendments have no real substantive value to the voter and the issues of their everyday life. If we include the issues detailed in the Social Security Civil Wealth Fund Chart to be voted on as Charter Amendments, then we can help them obtain the justifications that they need for the funding with an inclusion of backup research materials they might request such as Doctors Bills. Notice that they rely on Research Firms or Government collected statistics who conduct surveys or rely on gathered stats from government services such as Social Security Medicare and Welfare who ask for these types of simple documentation in exchange for their services. There is a whole section of population that is neglected in the total count. Perhaps that is what is impeding their progress. If certain economic class type communities are excluded from the total set of statistical information, that limits funding for loans and grants for the Corporate Arena and Government Services. Obviously, this is a problem of Administrative Oversight. We should assure the Government that in States’ Rights, we prefer more general instruction in the way of guidance and if that is the access they need in permissions for the collection of research information and general accounting statistical information to enable the justification for the funding of Corporate and Government Operations, then that is what we should enable them to do. We must therefore, Vote With Action!

One of the roads that inspired Dewey Bunnell to write the song is Highway 1 between Malibu and Oxnard in California.
Perhaps, but Bunnell has said in various interviews that the song is not necessarily about any particular stretch of road, but about the feeling of going to California from Omaha. In this interview, he recounts a story when his dad got a flat tire on Ventura Freeway (101), and he stood for a long time taking in the scenery and the "vibe". Anyhow, the song and the place sure are part of each other now. Cheers!

My wife and I are from Wisconsin. We flew to L.A. two years ago, rented a car and drove from Santa Monica to Ragged Point and back. Took my America CD along with us and played this song as we traveled this same stretch of highway. If you go make sure to stop at the Santa Monica pier.

HEY! Kinda disappointing that your footage cuts out just as you're coming up on Ventura from the north--just past the Ventura riverbed are the famous surfing beaches to the right, and old town to the left. Your highway approach scenes supports America's famous rhythm--but not much else.
