This is exactly what is making me crazy at the moment. Both the official car repair center and the tire care specialist could not figure it out and explained me many fairy tale which they told I have to accept, suffer in silence and go home. Thanks for sharing.
Broooo Smart As hell! I was trying to find this noise on my 2002 is300 same exact squeak no knocking, yet to jack my wheel up but it’s only coming from my driver side . Awesome video !
wow so turns out my squeaking was due to me not jacking up my arms to the correct height when I retorqued the bolts. Thanks for helping me figure that out!
I replaced both my upper control arms on my ek hatch... Within 10km the passenger one was squeaking like this. Had it replaced under part warranty and the next one did the same within 50km. Got my money back and have 2 brand new upper control arms now... I'm going to try this today! 🤞
Awesome, I just started getting this squeeky rubber noise at low speed over bumps or unever ground. Im going to try this and hopefully save a couple grand. Thank you!!!!!!!
You don't know how long this noise has been bugging me on my jaguar xj. Couldnt find it myself. Finally took it in and was told it was the upper control arm. Been watching videos on how to charge it. Seen this video before I actually ordered parts and thought I'd give it a try with the lubrication. It worked!! I'm shocked. I'm not sure how long it'll last without making the noise but I hope it gives me a while because the part looks fine.
I have the same issue but on a 2013 VW Passat. THANK YOU!!! I’m pretty sure it’s similar problem. Dealer wanted $600 to replace the upper arm link 🤦♂️
Factory specs are super important in ensuring the housing for the bushing is clamped down completely or you will just have a ton of play, hence, the clunk, clunk...
Its can be ANYTHING really... My truck just started squeaking REALLY bad. Right after i replaced both control arms with brand new one. So NEW parts actually made mine start squeaking
Lol I've been trying to look for the same squeaking sound from other vids concerning brakes. Come to find out from the mechanic its my control arm for my dodge but the squeak is much louder.
Thanks for the video. I was inspecting the upper control arm after replacing the front left tire due to similar sounds. I lubricated but now the bolt doesn't want to go back in. It just keeps spinning and spinning. Any ideas?
Is it possible to leave the wheel on and just spray the lubricant all over the two bushings? It’s probably going to hit other let’s of the arm but that should be a problem right?
My Toyota Rav 4 is once again has a crunching noise when going over bumps/uneven ground. I hear it primarily in the back. Any idea what this is? I figure its the struts and mounts?
my UCA is brand new, but I suspect the bushing was not greased, I hear squaking and whistling. I order new bushing but it be here between 40 days to 36 days from now, will these brand new bushing last that long without grease??
So you guys must have way less strict inspections with your cars? Because if I take a car like that (the ball joint is clearly loose) to inspection it might not even pass and at least if its only a minor problem tehy will give you kinda like a warning and if you get 3 of those it will not pass.
This might explain why I hear the knocking sound after replacing my upper control arms. Does the upper control arm's ball joint have to be tightened under load too or just the two mounting bolts ?
I really hope you can reply me on this. My car is brand new and is about 6 months old. I drove through some low flood recently and it started squeaking exactly like the video (it has been about 3 days since). Is it possible that it will go away on its own or do I have to spray some lubricant on it?
@@DIYtimeTRD Thanks for the reply. I washed my undercarriage when I was cleaning my car, got rid most of the sound but there's still a teeny weeny bit of it. Will try to wash it again and see if it goes. If not, guess the silicone lubricant spray it is for me. Thanks a bunch!

Please let me know if i can use wd40 for upper arm ?
The best lubricant I have found for any bushing on a vehicle is AT205 Reseal. It rejuvenates the rubber and makes it stop squeaking. Nice video

You can see where someone has used a hammer on the steering knuckle at 2:03. That ball joint separator is a great tool.
Yeah, that was there before me. Not a good idea to wack the knuckle like that.
I have the exact same problem - the ball joint rubber needs lubrication. Thanks man!
Glad it helped, thank you for sharing!

Most likely your balljoints

same for me, especially if im going uphill and have to drive like stop and go (uphill with speedbumps for example) Hoping that this is the reason why
Your video really helped me out and I don't even own a Lexus...thx🙂
Shop was getting ready to charge alot of Benjamin's ..

I wish I had know this 4 years ago Thank You

🤞🏻That’s awesome, hopefully it will last long. Mine are still good, no squeaky sound for a few years now!
I got the same noise coming from the front of my XC90...will take a look definitely
I have this exact same issue, on my 2006 GS300 after changing the control arms, thx! Will try this out!

My pleasure!

Absolutely!
I am getting clunk clunk clunk on my 2010 lexus gs350 and cant find the culprit. Will ckeck this upper control arm !
@@MrRoop999 Did you solve it??
Awesome video buddy I’m getting the same noises, I definitely will be inspecting those parts thank you!!!
Thanks!
This video is just perfect , now I know why my car squeaks
Very well done video!!

I have exactly the same problem and the upper control arm was installed like a few months ago

My 2002 lexus is300 is making that same annoying squeaking even after all new control arms and coilovers
Great video! I will be doing this on a 2013 vw golf mk7
Thanks and good luck!
Good work
Thanks!
Funny enough I was having this issue on my is250 and watching the video I realized was the same car🤣 but thanks man

Thanks brother!!
Great job

Thank you sir.
Good video sr.. on my driver side of rubber bushing no good .what can I do there 🤔 REMPLACE DE RUBBER BUSHING OR REMPLACE ALL UPPER CONTROL ARM?
I dont think you can do just bushings... 🤔
@@DIYtimeTRD ok that's im asking you if I need to remplace all piece together bro. ??
The whole control arm.
@@DIYtimeTRD ok bro thanks...
Thanks. Squeaky noise is driving me nuts
I feel you...!

the same thing thats happening to my car .will the removal of the arm mess with the cars alignment?
thanks

😂
Cars can squeak just like that too....

Same exact car cudnt find it but now found it
👌🏼
exactly same as my toyota hilux truck.. except the knocking noice.. only sqeaking
👌🏻
that siicone spray wont work long. squeaky noise will start soon...better to change bush..
Do you have the P/N of the ball joint separator? The Amazon link takes you to general bank joint separators. Thanks
helpful.... thx

We don’t have inspections at all down here...
This might explain why I hear the knocking sound after replacing my upper control arms. Does the upper control arm's ball joint have to be tightened under load too or just the two mounting bolts ?
I think just those two.
My upper ball joint has a spec of 38 foot pounds. 04ram15003.7liter sometimes all you need is wd40 to kill a squeek
@@jaimejay6056 Do you think Wd40 is also good enough for the rubber bushing? Or better bushing or silicone spray for the rubber?
Bushings spray is better for sure. WD40 may deteriorate the rubber.
I really hope you can reply me on this.

It probably won’t. Mine was squeaking for a long time until I got enough of it...

It could be water. It will stop squealing for some time until it dries up.
Hi
Am in Tanzania, how can get it pls
I get a similar squeak but when turning right
lower ball joint if it squeaks on turns
So I replaced my control arm and it start making that noise, does it need lubricant ?
Did you pre-load it and torqued it to factory specs when installing?
Same, did you got it fix ?

My car makes a squeaking noise when I’m driving any ideas? Thanks!
I could be a rat inside your engine !
vPocus let me borrow your snake then
Your engine sounds like it have valvetrain tic- check for blow by in your oil cap!
Normal for 250 and 350 just injector ticking
I have a squeaky noise coming from my rear passenger when braking or accelerating hard. Its not wheel bearing as I had those replaced. Any ideas?
It’s hard to tell without actually looking at it....
DIY-time ye ik, i think its my rotors or some type of bushing
Mine come back with in 24hrs of spraying them. Noise just don't go away
What lubricant did you use?
My car squeaks but in the back when someone gets in or out
Me too, did you figure it out?
I didn’t
Better off just replacing the whole upper control arm bro. I paid 130$ In parts and 60$ in labor charge.
