This year's most requested old GaMetal remake is yet another legendary song of VGM: Stickerbush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest!
◆ Kaptain KRool shirt by Draculabyte: draculabyte.com/products/kapt...
◆ Gameplay by SolarZero and Airsh (Thank you!)\
Long ago, in the year 2010, I did a cover of Stickerbush Symphony. It was the first 'soft' song I did for GaMetal, and ended up being one of my more popular old arrangements.
This song has had quite a few votes in recent May Madness voting, but this year it took the top spot as the #1 most requested remake (beating out FF6 Decisive Battle by a single vote).
To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to remake this one the last few years, but with it being #1 most requested this year, you left me no choice!
I've arranged this one quite a bit differently than my decrepit 2010 version, but for fans of that one, most of the stuff from the 210 version is still present in some form in this new arrangement.
So without further ado, I bring you the new and improved GaMetal Stickerbush Symphony. Enjoy! :)

Welcome folks from the latest TerminalMontage video, I hope you enjoy your stay. 🙂
I heard the first 5 seconds and immediately knew it was my man Jonny. 15/10 version of this song. CRUSHED it.
I literally just came from them
Recognize right away 👌
TerminalMontage and Internet checkpoint together put a spotlight on this perfection of a vibe
God tier music my man! Props for the awesome work!
This is like a symphony of all different ways this could be done! I forgot I was still listening to the same song by the end, but then it came full circle beautifully and brought me back down! Well done!
This song is just magical and spiritual, it works with a lot of different tunes
@@simpsons138 Simply a beautiful remix of one of my favorite DKC songs. I felt a chill down my spine after listening to the whole song. You did an excellent job with this remix.
It's truly wonderful isn't it!
Holy shit my man Emile, what is up.
hi chugga, tell any good jokes lately?
Stickerbush Symphony is just one of those songs that just can’t sound bad ever.
The original, the Brawl remix, and the multitude of fan covers of the song… truly one of the greatest video game tunes of all time.
agreed x100
DKC 2 belongs in a museum
David Wise is a legend.
The Tropical Freeze one too.
@@CheeseBlaster Okay, Indy. XD
(If you've never seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, that's what I'm referencing, and highly recommend)
Man tasked with creating music for underwater stage accidentally creates piece of music that expresses the fundamental feeling of longing.
The best part is that the levels in which the theme appears are not aquatic but are among the most difficult
Well put
Are you talking about Aquatic Ambience? Or this song?
Not even an aquatic theme, you're thinking of aquatic ambiance
@@SnthwaveSunset Stickerbush Symphony was originally going to be used for a water level. Later he realized he wouldn't be able to use it and it almost didn't make it in the game. He saw new potential when he took a look at the bramble levels.
You can't improve on a masterpiece...
Wait, why am I holding GaMetal's beer?
he actually did! The madman!
Dixie Embracing Diddy is just so Wholesome.
Was it in this video? I didn't see it
Edit: Found it, it was in the TerminalMontage video
@Woofrie it's in another video
What video? @@mknerd1991
Yeah, absolutely, and the guitar makes it even powerful
What an experience, this was beyond beautiful
Oh, hey there
MYTHYYYY
Checkpoint: Jonny has decided to remake his cover of Stickerbrush Symphony, which is really sick, the song absolutely deserves to have a new cover from the legendary man himself
Checkpoint? Of course, everyone relates this theme to Taia777
STICKER BUUUUUSH
David Wise, should really collaborate with Jonny, or Familyjuels, for a cover, like Grant Kirkope did, for the Banjo Kazooie, Final Battle, cover.
“Everywhere I go, I see his face”
@@SleepyReapy32 Undertale, and Stickerbush Symphony, are both such beautiful songs they both always blow me away so much. I just wish Undertale, had a different name because it makes finding covers harder since it usually thinks i mean covers of Undertale, songs, not that certain song.
TerminalMontage has always been great about giving creators smaller than him the spotlight to show off their creativity with their amazing renditions of classic songs we know and love, this is such a good cover and I'm glad he put it in his video, it will permanently be on my playlist now.
GaMetal was able to have some of his music in an actual game, TMNT Shredders Revenge
GaMetal, small? I'm not sure I agree, but he definitely deserves the spotlight.
@@fim-43redeye31 I didn't say small, I said "smaller than him"
Smaller than him? Never heard of this Terminal Montage guy
@@whyrwehere he's definitely smaller than him, should look him up, makes great animations.
The two moods of this cover:
• vibing
• SPEED RUN
Love 'em both!
That really does describe a lot of speedruns though when you think about it. It starts off like any other and you're just vibing with your chat not knowing if the runs going to be good or not yet and once you do know its suddenly go time.
Hah, indeed. It's hard to speedrun these levels, though, what with all those barrel cannons.
They are like Act 1 and Act 2 of Bramble Blast Zone. 😂
is it just me, or does sticker brush symphony always sound really emotional no matter the cover? not that it's a bad thing, in fact, i absolutely love that.
Maybe its the nostalgia... at least it is for me
It makes me tear up a bit every now and again
@@jacorcerv that may be it
It's in the key of A minor, so definitely yes!
@@pringelsthegamefreak lol i don't know anything about music but that may very well be it. also, the constant jingle in the background perhaps has something to do with it's tone as well. the fact that it remains the same as everything else gets more complex. but as i said, i know nothing about music theory, so i could just be retarded.
I heard this song was originally intended for a water level that never happened (I mean, the game features water levels, just none of them play this) I can see it fitting
*very good Brawl flashbacks*
Yeah, the same kind of water level that's in the first and third games. DKC2's water levels though are ice and sunken ship themed, not sea themed, hence the music having to be reassigned.
insaneintherain music pulls out a torna remix, and you throw stickerbrush: this is one of the best days videogame remixes enjoyers have ever had
stickerBUSH. Stickerbush is a slang for "briar plant". Suddenly, it all makes sense.
please edit your comment so it says stickerBUSH
Lmao I literally just realized, I'm sorry xD
[But if I edit it the little heart will go away :( ]
If original gets recommended to world's protagonist, than this is his flashback before final push
The ultimate chill song now it is it’s time to be rockified.
It’s just like Comfortably Numb, now.
*Dixie hugs Diddy*
"Everyone liked that"
💕(◍^ᴗ^)( ˶IwI)❤️
nostalgia kills, does it not?
let's funking go. It's my birthday tomorrow, this week is great
Happy (upcoming) birthday Schaedli!
@@JonnyAtma thank you, man. Hope everything is good on your side :D
congrats on being in a TerminalMontage video
This hits harder than I thought It would.
I won’t complain.
Internet Checkpoint
Checkpoint : I love this new cover. No need to talk about depression, death or life, just enjoyin' Jonny's music.
thanks Terminal !
This gives me such a really good feeling, right in my heart, my day was already going pretty well but this was just icing on the cake. Thank you so much for adding a new song to my playlist haha
Add to your playlist and videos... 🤔 This in the background while learning some interesting facts would be perfect
Got many draculabyte shirts due to the video myself
IT WAS JUST A COVER FOR A SILLY MONKE GAME, YOU COOKED TOO HARD EVERYTHING IN MY SETUP IS ON FIRE NOW OH GOD
Who's here because of Terminal Montage?
Yesssssssssssir😊
What means TERMINAL Montage?
Oh heck yeah!!
Eu
kkkk
One of the, if not the best track ever composed for a game. So many feelings coming back, the lost innocence from our childhood. Simply beautiful, makes you wonder if there will ever be a place where these feelings will return.
HOW I DONT KNEW THIS???
THANK YOU TERMINAL MONTAGE
I haven’t even played any of the Donkey Kong games and this fills me with nostalgia
Now is a great time to try your first Donkey Kong game. I'd recommend Donkey Kong Country 1 or 2.
It's super easy to download free emulators and hook up a simple Xbox controller to your pc. I highly recommend dipping your toes in the waters of 90's Super NIntendo games... they were genuinely the best.
Same! Goes harder than normal. Also, shout-out to TerminalMontage!
Terminal montage sent me. This is awesome!!
*Dixie hugs Diddy*
_And now this song has become a love song_
TerminalMontage brought me here, solid remix you got here.
Terminal Montage brought me here. Waiting for the others.😁😁😁
Ah yes, the theme of the internet checkpoint, done absolute justice by Jonny... it's honestly beautiful, not to mention absolutely rocking near the end as well.
Oh, and remember to take care of yourself too everyone, whatever's going on in your life, you'll make it through in the end, so don't give up, no matter what.
Of course, this is only one of two Checkpoints, so how about it Jonny? A journey through the *Corridors of Time* maybe?
...Huh, it really is an internet checkpoint. I never thought of it that way.
I'm here from Terminal Montage. Thank you for making such a beautiful rendition of such a beautiful song! ❤️
This song is A timeless classic.
As soon as the guitar kicked in I wanted to cry
what a nice theme to go on a flight with a parrot friend and your girlfriend 🥰🥰
Monkey hug
I am impressed how you can make a cover song sound so rich.
Terminal montage brought me here!!!
Here because of terminal montage's DKC 2 video 👍.
Very nice remix
Shout out to all of the kids who grew up with the Brawl remix when going through the Subspace Emissary
Yep. This is how I initially discovered the song since I didn't grow up with DKC2. I still get nostalgic even tho I heard the remix 1st.
Shoutout to the kids that grew up with the original version that lived to see this song given the justice it deserved. Thank you Gametal!
Howdy
I’ve played dk land 2. the 8bit is amazing
@@mrswimshady9691 it’s 16 bit actually.
The King Diamond style K-Rool shirt
I will never not be a sucker for prominent, crisp guitar. The intro had me hooked. Amazing work
2:32
Thanks, you have told me where the dk coin was in this level!
And really good job with this theme!
Glad to be of service to ya. I'd show the bonuses as well usually, but considering they take away from the level itself, I figured it'd be better to leave it out.
SolarZero
Yeah, I agree. I think it's better to not show the bonuses as well, besides the theme is not playing in those places
Holy smokes, how'd I miss this one???
When you tinhk u know all Stickerbush Symphony Covers appears Terminal Montage and gives you more one
Terminalmontage Brought me here and Monkeying Around
TerminalMontage sent me here to hear this amazing remix.
Holy shit.... this is legitimately the best remix of this song I have EVER heard
The second act of the song is just absolute fucking fire, damn
Stickerbush and Aquatic Ambiance are the greatest game OST ever composed.
Don't forget Forest Interlude as well.
@@tjg121389You can throw Mining Melancholy in for good measure.
I was happy to see this cover in TM's animation!
Nice! Your unique interpretations of existing songs never disappoint.
I am at an absolute loss for words. This is positively transcendental.
Coming here from TerminalMontage made me realize that, despite having loved songs from GaMetal, I had never subscribed. Fixed that problem in a jiff. Nicely done music!
Jesus Christ, Jonny. You got me crying in class, dude. I never played DKC until about a year ago after first hearing about this song from the “checkpoint” thing. And it hit me right in the feels and gave me that nostalgic, happy feeling. But this was all so gloriously beautiful and badass in a way no other song has ever felt, and I believe David Wise would be proud of you for this cover. I know I certainly am. You’ve managed to amplify those feelings a billion, million times over. Thank you.
Hiya from the Something About DKC2 nostalgia trip! ❤💛
we have come for your terminalmontage comments!
God that guitar at 0:41, its pulling emotions out of me that i haven't felt in a long time... what is this?
IM HERE FOR TERMINALMONTAGE!!!!
Dang man, this one's magical, fantastic remake of an old cover and the amount of creativity that went into this is wild.
Much better than your first symphony remix. I especially like the opening upto the 4min mark. Good job.
As always for those interested in my raw footage can find it here - czcams.com/video/wWdJECcSyAw/video.html
Now as for comments: I can't express how much this has changed and how much better it feels for it since the 2010 release. And you know as an enjoyer of 'slow metal', this just really hits the spot. Also it feels more natural without Boss Bossanova being in-between everything. Glad I was able to provide footage here and cheers for Airsh backing me up with footage (Did not expect the remix to be this long and one level is not enough!)
Never a dull day when one of my favorite gaming franchises and one of my favorite musicians crossover.
Really needed this man after some shit that happened yesterday, thanks Jonny!
Hope things get better soon, Pilgrim! 🤠
TerminalMontage brought me here, very well done!!
Terminalmontoage brought me here.
Aaaah… Such a nice relaxing tune. This truly cant be metaliz-
4:47 (kicks in)
WHAT THE FU-
It happened. It actually fricking happened.
Phenomenal remix man. Even though I have never played a single Donkey Kong Country title, I know the legacy the original track carries and you emphasized that legacy amazingly here.
This song is magical, any iteration or remix of the song will always be magical, and this one’s no exception
i wish he did Dixie's little solo at the end just to finish with a little bow on top of this awesome present.
Electric guitar sounding like something that could come out of Xenoblade, great work!
Terminal Montage early gang
This is my favorite donkey Kong country song, ever since I was 6 years old playing my SNES. Thank you for this amazing cover!!
this is the most relaxing thing there can be ... with nostalgia I remember this excellent melody ... greetings from Tijuana Mexico ...
I have crazy nostalgia for this song. Not because of DKC2, I've never played it. It's really because of the incredible remix that was in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!
And you know what? This cover might just top the one in Brawl. I don't know enough about music to express why, but the way you used the synth fit the way the series generally uses it really well...coupled with your iconic metal guitar, it's equal parts faithful and unique, beautiful and downright badass. David Wise ought to be proud. Thank you so much for making this!
yeah the smash version is the one that i have nostalgia for
You, uh...you really otta play it. Like, right now. :)
the game is hard as shit but it's really good. By the time you're done with it, you'll feel nostalgic when it's over.
Checkpoint: literal chills and tears. Somebody already said it hits harder than it should… Gonna loop it later.
Love your work Jonny.
Get here because Terminal Montage, i dont like very much the original version of this song, but men oh men i love your version!!!! ❤
I will admit, i’ve never played DKC2 but dang it The Subspace Emissary engrained this song into my mind. One of the most serene and enjoyable themes ever
This is my absolute favorite cover of the song.
This is easily one of my all-time favourite GaMetal remixes for sure, what a beautiful song. Come back to it all the time and get emotional every single time. I love it
bro! how could you turn a beautiful song Like stickerbush simphony into a even more beautiful song?! congrats!
IS THAT A BOKTAI REMIX COMING UP JOHNNY????? I DO NOT BELIEVE IT
Oh nice, another remix of a beautiful classic! It measures up to the original too! Good job with this.
Brawl’s rendition of this song feels like an Act 2 to the original’s Act 1 tbh.
Я на столько все переосмыслил... что разошелся со своей женой. Возможно именно эта музыка помогла мне собраться с мыслями... Спасибо, огромное... Тут столько боли, столько мыслей что нельзя озвучить, просто не передать...
Hall of Fame worthy music!!!
One of the best Donkey Kong Country songs, alongside Gangplank Galleon, and the other ones that I forget the names of
I believe Battle for Storm Hill was in there too.
Lemme add Aquatic Ambience and DK Jungle (from barrel blast)
7 minute GaMetal cover! Of one of the greatest video game compositions of all time no less? Ohh hell yes.
Idk why but the first seconds of electric guitar made me drop a tear... music its kinda magic, well done🍷
Terminalmontage! 😁
one of my all time favorite songs in the entire DK universe..its timeless, relaxing, wondrous and always takes me to a time where things were simple and brought so much joy to my childhood and still does today 💗🥺
Ngl, these softer covers you make from time to time are definitely the reason why I like your covers in particular so much more than most other VGM cover artists; so many people tend to think that all you have to do to make something sound more "metal" is to put guitars all over the track, which while it isn't entirely false, it also tends to ruin the essence of the original track and 99% of the time just sounds really bad as a result, but you instead try to respect the original as much as possible while still giving it that metal sound, and I respect that decision a lot haha
But yeah, damn good job as always lol; I honestly _love_ the idea of going with a softer intro and building up the intensity more and more, and in general the keyboard work here is _on point,_ way more than some of your other covers in fact, which is totally a plus for me lmao
(also I wonder if this could count as a prog rock thing, especially with the bigger overall length of the track and the bigger focus on the keyboard 🤔)
at 12 this was the first song where I 'felt' something and dove deep into music on youtube just a kid and his iPad I would listen to it on repeat to get that feeling it gave me and its what made me want to be a musician thanks for the awesome cover :)
edit : tried to learn it on a classical guitar as my first song but that f chord was a challenge xD
I listened to this like 40-50 times already. So good!
Started calm and then goes full epic! Man this is crazy!
6:05 just a masterpiece thanks for this awesome remix !
My god. I just had so many memories from playing subspace emissary when I was 7 and 8 when I heard this
Woaaah... I love it so much!!! it's seriously melting my heart and bringing tears to my eyes..
I don't even like this song that much, but this remix is so so good. Next level stuff here man!
Checkpoint: This cover is epic.
