This isn’t fun anymore…
Is something wrong?
@@authorbat5562It's a line Zero says when you keep killing the Neo Arcadians at the start of the stage
You're a true fan.
You can even see it in the gameplay footage here
@@mewhen65 OOOOH! My B. I was worried there was something else going on. There’s so many internet drama cases going on that it’s got me on edge. I’m glad it’s just a reference.
He added the mythos intro...he actually did it...
OH MY GOD THIS IS JUST THE MYTHOS VERSION I LOVE IT!!!
He LOVES Mythos. His "Cannonball" also has the Mythos solo.
The mythos versions are perfect for his style so it works out tbh
One the the things I hate the most is when an arrange album fades out in the middle of a guitar solo like Mythos Departure, so to finally have a satisfying ending to that solo is an absolute godsend
i like it tbh, gives it a "the story goes on beyond the listener's reach" feel
Never have a seen an opening to a video game as raw as Zero throwing his tattered cloak to the dusty wind and cutting through hordes of enemies backed by the sunset horizon, all the while THIS BANGER OF A SONG PLAYING.
That single panning frame of Zero tossing his cloak is unforgettable. Remembering the complete hype MMZ2's intro filled me with is almost bringing me to tears. I would find any version of Departure I could (which was sadly difficult at the time) and play it on my MP3 player on repeat.
Okay but Sonic jumping from, a helicopter, and skating down the city, and running from a Giant gun truck, and meeting shadow that’s some awesome shit plus of course the beginning of FF7, especially in the remake that made that go so much more intense feeling, the start of MGSR, too.
Don't forget the ruined Zero 1 menu before he gets found and fixed up at Resistance HQ, that's the chef's kiss for me
Kudos to you for putting the "This isn't fun anymore" in the clips
I've found my people.
Glad to supply the masses. =)
@Zanfitto-sc1lg it got old for Zero.
WE MAKING IT OUT OF NEO ARCADIA WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥
Zero hid himself while he repaired himself in the desert. Also, great cover.
No, he broke down in the desert and had to be brought to resistance camp to be repaired. He was fighting the war alone in the desert
@@gfdx3214The Eurasia colony crash site was basically turned into a desert so the statement itself isn't wrong in general. It just doesn't fit for this specific case.
It’s also a joke referring to that line in Mega Man X6
What makes you laugh?
Copy X: ...someone find him... AND KILL HIM.
Zero’s life really doesn’t get any easier for him, does it?
not even as a metal poor guy gets worst treatment.
He's the reason behind the maverick virus
Not at all, but he does do two important things with his life. Achieve both Thomas and Albert's dreams. His death brought together humans and reploids so that peace could be achieved, then the timeline he set the world upon, removes humanity fully from corrupting the mechanical children that they made. Also proves wily was the superior scientist, and that one man's cleverness can overcome even the entire world's backing.
No matter how much he tries to escape it he was made for battle hints the reason he had to sacrifice himself at the end of four he had no place in a peaceful world. 😢
He IS in fact the God of Destruction, even if Zero himself is a good being, his existence brings up the conflict and war, Willy somehow left a curse in the world in his magnum opus.
𝐿𝑒𝑡'𝑠 𝑔𝑜...
I love how this song represents very well what resilience is, to keep on fighting until the end when everything is against you
"Zero? Is that my name?"
OH MY GOD HE DID DEPARTURE
This song makes me nut metaphorically lol.
"Since you disappeared I've been fighting this war alone against an uncountable number of Mavericks for nearly a hundred years... Battle after battle... So painful and so sad... But the hardest part was when I discovered that I no longer cared about fighting enemies...
I'll leave this world to you... Please allow me... to rest in peace... for a while... ......... I'm sorry, Zero..."
--X
Nice work. Your Mega Man covers are always top shelf.
God, the Zero series is probably the most depressing a Mega Man story has ever gotten; _no one_ is allowed to be happy in that world. And for being on the GBA and all the limitations that come with that, I'm still surprised at how much those little games make me feel. Great story, awesome music. And you absolutely nailed it, as always. The acoustic intro was a fantastic touch, too. And then Neverending Fight at the end, cherry on top. Thanks Jonny ♥
Godspeed Edgeman🫡
Supreme Edgeboy
Power Bom is an underrated Z2 track that could use this treatment.
yes please!
Zero 2 was my launching point into the world of Mega Man, and I still love it to this day. And that love extends to Departure. The song holds so much meaning to it, for Zero himself, the series as a whole, and to me personally. There is no bad version of the song, be it the GBA original, the remix from the drama tracks, the Reploid Remix from the Legacy Collection, or even fan remixes like this one. Rock on, Gametal!
Man that's such a strong start! Hope you don't stop enjoying the series, so underrated nowadays!
Dude, I just finished my Zero 3 A-Rank playthrough yesterday. The Zero series has become my favorite 2d Platformers ever, and that’s a pretty darn good bar after the titles I’ve gone through.
This stage is probably the best way to throw a player into the game. Quick recap, awesome song, a broken down pause menu from the previous game, no tutorial, just straight into the game full blast.
Just the way I like it. Love at first sight ❤
Bro i cant beat a level and yall be a ranking them holy shi
@@lorenzo689 Which game? Zero 1 and Zero 2 were rough on me, but Zero 3 lines up everything to just feel smooth as butter.
Satellite Elf system was probably the key factor as it gives you bonuses without killing your rank (old Elf system are the Fusion Elves, do NOT touch!). You can get an Elf that adds HP, then another Elf that doubles that HP, and now you'll have a MUCH easier time. Find the 2 Natural Sub-Tanks on top of that, and death won't be an issue at all.
What IS an issue is that taking too much damage affects rank. Mind you, I *had to* reset stages that I had completed multiple times just for the A rank lol, but the EX Skills are well worth it.
@@littleguystar z3, since then i replayed the game and im now by the 2nd half of the game! Still think it's harder than the others but im pretty bad, oh and also i didnt risk it with the elfs so i didnt know there were some that dont hurt your rank, messed up in z2 with the elfs so i didnt want to do it again
MY FAVORITE GAME SERIES GOT ANOTHER COVER LETS GOOOOO!
Give us a whole album PLEASE! Better yet a Whole marathon like the Kirby Songs got!
LETS GO!!!
My favorite track from the Zero series!!!
Edit - It was awesome AND the Acoustic For Endless Fight II 🔥
This series should continue for one more game like capcom should maybe if they ever made a new x game too, I’d love that, plus J’s, reviews love his mega man vids, and DMC6, in the future i know they can push devil may cry even further man.
One of the best opening songs from any of the Mega Man series. Really captures that “Ahh shit, here we go again” feeling Zero has to be having.
OHHH that intro, so many covers and remixes dont nail that intro bit, but you absolutely did. Glad to hear you do this song some justice!
WE'RE GETTING OUT OF THE DESERT WITH THIS ONE
My campus just called a snow day, now this is out. Life is great.
In the wise words of zero when he was scared and low on energy...
"*huff* *huff* ... let's dance..."
This cover was perhaps a departure from my expectations, but by no means a departure from Banger Status! With each passing song, my hopes for Faith Is For The Transient People soar ever higher!
Dude I didn’t even consider how good Transient Faith would sound in his style!
@@edwardtoth36 Especially since the recent release of Kobito ofvthe Shining Needle as a bonus track on the XIII album is so fire!
@@lemonadogirl4082 the only dilemma I have is that there are like twenty different song I want just as bad: Unlocated Hell, Princess who Slays Dragons, Immemorial Marketeer, Star-Spangled Pierrot, Tiny Shangri-La, Suwa Foughten Field, Chinese Tea, etc.
This is one of the best intro stage themes ever.
When I saw the teaser image at the end of Smithy's theme, I thought 'wouldn't it be neat if he re-did Departure? He doesn't have to but it'd be cool'
Dude this is beyond 'neat' or 'cool'. You're amazing at elevating these songs beyond their original forms!
ZEEEEEEEEERO
*Proceds to kill's an ancient doctor in the space*
I waited so long for this, this cover is just perfect!! It perfectly meshes the mood of the original and I am so happy to hear the solo from Mythos followed by your own spin.
Would kill to hear more covers of Inti Creates games from here. Azure Striker Gunvolt has some of my all time favorite music and none of it gets remixed online ;; Super underrated series!!
The sheer GASP I let out when I saw this in my inbox
You KILLED IT here Johnny!
Easily one of the best tracks in all of Mega Man
I was looking forward to when you'd get to this song. One of my favorite bangers from the Zero series.
Yes! Not only did you do an acoustic version a while back, now this exists!
Easily my most favorite song from any Megaman game!
Nearly cried when that little bit of Clover hit towards the end. This made my week.
Oh hell yeah! More Megaman Zero!!
The intro to Zero 2 is burned into my mind. After a year of non-stop fighting, alone in the vast wasteland that is the world outside of Neo-Arcadia, a broken Zero throws away his cloak and turns towards his enemies, ready for one final push towards his chosen fate. Departure is the music that best represents the Zero series as a whole. Thank you for doing it justice!
Love this track. Outright *DESPISE* the stage, but love this track.
Requesting Ark Mall from Astral Chain.
I swear, the simple sound of the winds had made me cry, and then the guitars just added the emotion.
Departure is with Area Zero's theme, my favorite soundtracks of the Zero Series.
Oh this is long overdue, hell yeah
Best thing to wake up to this morning
EDIT: AHHH GOD THE MYTHOS SOLOS ITS PERFECT
One of the most iconic themes ever. Period. Your tone is perfect for it, as well as your playing. Rock on!
The Megaman Zero series will always be my favourite Megaman series in the franchise. And this song is a nice "Departure" from the old formula and into a new generation of Megaman. It helped shape my childhood and helped my find what's really worth fighting for.
Finally, peak gets a remix! My favorite intro stage in the entire Mega Man series next to Green Grass Gradation (if that counts).
A cool detail about this intro mission is that zero is always in his”heavy damage”animation that plays because he’s been wandering the desert for a year at this point
Sometimes I see a new song on this channel and I'm just kinda amazed it hasn't been here before.
Great job on one of the best songs in the entire Mega Man series!
My favorite song of the Zero series. I was smiling all the way through. ^^
literally crying because you covered my favourite game OST of all time :')
"This isn't fun anymore" - Zero (Mega Man Zero 2)
Oh my god, my favorite MMZ track ever! You killed this! Thank you
coming back to this after actually playing zero 2 for the first time (and the mega man zero series all around) just makes this hit even harder for me
ive slowly become addicted to Departure
Yeah that's a side effect
FINALLY! I've been requesting this on every survey!
Great cover! I can feel the desert heat!
I was happy when it kicked off with the opening bit, because I've found more covers/remixes skip the intro. And this remix as a whole is just...*chef's kiss*
Me and the Meca boys when we passed through a desert:
It's always good to see some Zero Series love.
I just finished this game in Z/ZX LC and hearing and watching this makes me motivated to continue in Zero 3
Been watching since I was 15 and this man becomes better with every video istg
oh my god i can´t believe it Jonny, this is my favorite ost of all the time. Every cover makes me love you more ♥
Finally covered Departure and taken some liberties from the Mythos version too. Can't go wrong with that. The cover is excellent. Thanks for doing this!
Before I even listen to this fully, just the other day I was listening to ToxicEternity's cover of Departure and thought to myself, "it'd be AMAZING if Jonny did a cover of this as well". Thank you for summoning my childhood nostalgia, and uh, don't let Dr. Weil hear this, he may take advantage of your prowess. As always, you ROCK!!!! ❤
The opening stage of Megaman Zero 2 is honestly in my opinion the best opening stage in the entire MegaMan series it is just so epic and this Gametal Remix does it immense justice.
I love the mythos inspiration. If they didn't put deneuvo on the zero legacy collection id mod this in
Fantastic cover! Easily one of my favorite tracks from the entire Mega Man franchise as a whole!
This song has the feeling of "that legend that was once thought to have come to an end has begun again", which is so wonderful!
The chills man, the chills. This brings so many memories, This tribute to Zero is just absolute!
Aw hell yeah
Don't know if I suggested this one, but I think this was one track I would've loved to see you tackle!
Departure is such a good BGM for the opening of MMZ2. Clover, the vocal version, is amazing, too!
Fantastic cover!
Definitely one of the greatest ost in gaming as Always big ups dude.
A DEPARTURE REMIX?
PEAK
THE GOAT
This is such a cool remix
At this time, I will implore any person who doesnt have the Zero collection to make that change.
Incredible work, as always!
Wow, this cover is Amazing. I love Departure and I really love this cover 🤟
From Zero to Hero, the legendary maverick hunter is back to dispose of any evil in the world
This goes so hard, props to you man,I would never have thought someone to this day still cares about the game's OST
YOOOOOO! Such a Classic this piece good to see your take on Zero 2's Opening stage!
I'm going to cry, the nostalgia hits hard
One thing I've learned in life is that you must always fight on, no matter what obstacles you have to face. Never let anyone or anything stand in your way, and never give up. This song has always captured that feeling of fighting until the bitter end.
What a pleasant surprise! Still one of the best openings in gaming history!
LESGOOO!!
Even the lil intro from mythos, I'm dying!!!
Yay, MMZ! I love this track, so it’s great to hear your epic take on it!
This cover is surpassed even the Rockman Zero remastered tracks version!. Thanks a lot for this awesome track!.
HELL YEAH DUDE
Hell yeah def need to hit up more Zero game music in the future Jonny, there is so many certified bangers :) Well done!
MAN!!! THIS IS VERY GOOD! GAMETAL IS DEFINITELY THE GUY WHEN IT'S TIME TO ADAPT THE OSTS!
I've been obsessing over this song for the last few days. Thank you for giving me a new cover to add to the rotation.
Your covers are like a grenade, they hit and KABOUM! Love your music man🤩
finally, my favorite music being GaMetal Remixed!
Man, I absolutely love the zero series, just finished zero 4 a couple months ago, and man these games are amazing! Hoping for Sand Triangle or Esperato as the next zero song!
And this comes out right when I've finished MMZ2 and started 3. What a fantastic series with incredible music.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes! More MegaMan in general
Heres to hoping we get a remake or remaster of cannonball OR what i want more, Sunstar's theme
Bless you Kind Sir for covering what perhaps is the greatest theme in Mega Man Zero history.
A story of hero that fights no matter how hopeless or bleak things seem, the way of the warrior is to push forward and a dear friend of mine is going through much hardship and struggles everyday. Should he ever read this and anyone else going through miserable times, there is ALWAYS a way.
Be the hero of your story or be the hero people need to see you as.
I remember seeing the intro to this level has a kid and thinking "I dunno what's going on but this is epic" years later, I've already finished the whole Zero/ZX series and it wasn't epic, it was legendary, I really hope this series get a remake or something, if it weren't for the portable console potency, I'm sure this series could easily go for a goty
(Sorry if I wrote something wrong, my English is a bit rusty)
At this rate all the great Mega Man Zero tracks will recieve the GaMetal treatment! Man, I love that you gave this song love, because sure bring memories. *This is fun!*
Please do BB Channel from Fate/EXTRA CCC.
I LOVE your remixes, one can always tell that you're actually a fan of the source material for a lot of the songs you cover
This track IS Megaman ZERO!
First listening to this i was not expecting such a Depa- wait that joke's been made, i mean i wasnt expecting such a unique cover from you. There's something almost magical about the mix between the keyboard soundfont and the very 80-90s sounding echo to the guitar, makes me feel happy...
Happy pancake day!
I played this song at my grandpa's funeral. He got out of the coffin, ripped his suit off, and yelled something about taking the fight to Neo Arcadia. He's been missing for 12 hours.
It's so relaxing yet exciting. Perfect remix for this song, considering this was supposed to be Zero's last stand before almost dying
Im so glad you started it off in the way the Mythos remix did as well, that just made me smile
He even added for the endless battle at the end!!🎉🎉🎉
The Mega Man Zero games were really something. The first one was rough around the edges but they really smoothed things out over time. Departure is one of my favorite songs in the Mega Man series overall.
Thaaaanks, man, this is BEAUTIFUL. I love your MegaMan remixes
