I have a cunning plan, let's watch more Blackadder here : czcams.com/play/PLZwyeleffqk5r8Ze_qSF9nKi_9hfjH0qO.html
Cunning, indeed!
as cunning as Foxey McCunning of the King's own Cunning Stunts?
Hilarious and Timeless
Ok someone has to say it.
Master Debater / Cunning Linguistic?
Good ol Flash can do both.
Very good baldrick
As a genuine resident of Aberdeen, I for one ensure I give the statue of Wee Jock PooPong McPlop a salute every time I pass by the town hall
He won us the war.
Rab C. Nesbitt's mortal enemy.
Oi Jacque* isn't it supposed to be? And you're from France you say?
Good man....
I have briefly occupied this role cleaning out the toilets in Aberdeen. I have since worked in Silicon Valley.
The contrast between Blackadder and Flasheart is hilarious.
Woof!
@FRANK SPENCER Rik Mayall
Flashheart had a very annoying habit of taking all blackadder girlfriend's though
Pure genius
It’s not that deep it doesn’t need studying and analysing
The real 1917
I went to see 1917 in theaters and I can't believe BBC is posting real clips from the movie, this is literally just unaltered footage from the film.
lol
😂😂
Can hardly see the cuts in this ;)
@TheDumbassDude Yes
"You mean you WANT me to overact and steal all my scenes?"
"Yes"
I mean, he did say he'd only do the role in season 2 if he got to overact and be funnier than Rowan Atkinson
I believe that Rick Mayall quoted: “alright, I’ll do it as long as I get more laughs than Rowan.”
@@destinydarrling9276 wait that's Rik Mayall?
@major I didn't know
@@redhood7650 yes.
His reaction to seeing Baldrick at 02:25 is brilliant.
And then his reaction to rubbing Baldrick's hair, 'JESUS!'
"What the hell is that!?" He's thinking
he is actually reacting in fear cause the english officers were clean and proper gentlemen who got to bath regularly whereas infantry in the trenches didn't and often had lice which is why he wipes his hand off but is perfectly fine with putting his boots on him.
"My GOD!"
"Yes, I suppose I am"
Superb.
"Do you have any idea what it feels like to have the wind rushing though your hair?"
*Sharts on Baldrick's face*
"He has!"
Is that a new meme, I've seen that comment everywhere
Just a Fart. Playing Peter Griffin there
RIP Rik Mayall. Hard to believe this is the same actor who plays Richie in Bottom, total opposites
Or the Detective Inspector in two Jonathan Creek episodes. I was hoping for a spin off series with him as the star.
He was great in the mini series Murder Rooms: Mysteries of the Real Sherlock Holmes from 2001 as well. He did such a good job in that serious role that I really felt for his character.
There’s definitely some Richard Richard in this character
A true legend.
He was great as Alan B’stard in The New Statesman 🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely brilliant acting, British humor at its best
"HA! Eat knuckle fritz!"
That's all it took. lol
Brexit negotiations got off to a rocky start
Me too, so good!
"MY GRANDMOTHER!!!..."
My favorite joke from the series, along with Darling
Rowan and Rik had such different comic personas, but were both equally brilliant.
How Rowan Atkinson keeps his face so dead pan is brilliant. Comic genius both Rowan and Rik
"If you want something, take it. BOB!!"
"Yes sir?"
"I want something."
"Take it."
*WOOF*
"I thought I landed sausage side"
lmao
Quite possibly my favourite moment in Blackadder. This or the 'get in her five times a day and take her to heaven and back'
Always cracks me up
I remember watching this with some mates when it was first broadcast. I laughed so much it actually hurt.
The firing squad scene for me,both gr8 though.😆😆😆
When he meets (sic) Baron von Richtoven in the jail. The Baron is going on about men of honour etc and Flasheart just shoots him and says, "what a poof." Always cracks me up.
and the wedding scene
Wait, wait, wait a minute. Now I may be packing the kind of tackle, you'd expect to find swinging about between the hind legs of a Grand National winner...
3:05 "...There's a bucket outside I've got to be sick into." Brilliant! XD
"Whooo-he-hoo-he-hooo!"
This is the most normal Rik Mayall has ever looked for a role.
Never gets old, just funnier...BBC Before Boring Content.
How true is that!
@@islander790 Good to see that both members of the "Things Were Better Back in My Day" Society are here.
@@jmckendry84 They sure were, I'm 36. They lack substance these days.
@@jmckendry84 mate I'm 24 and I agree with them, British humour was so good back then
0:43 "Cancel the state funeral, tell the King to stop blubbing"
Words that are suddenly relevant again in September 2022. 😂
I say the same thing when I'm called into work 😂
- My God!
- Yes, I suppose I am...
One of the greatest cameo comedy performances. Absolute gold.
It was a brilliant cameo.
Love how he kicks the telephone twice instead of dialing xD
Rik's eyes at 1:54 is comedy gold. Feel emotion? Throw a punch. Simpler times.
Rik Mayall (R.I.P.) made up a big part of my tv viewing when I was a child - The Young Ones, Blackadder, The New Statesman and Bottom. Still love all those shows.
2:11
Barleigh: "MY GOD!"
Flasheart: "Yes, I suppose I am".
Legend. How can a character that was only in two shows over all the series can be so classic
What a man
@@harrier331 dare we forget Ace Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
Three!!!! „There’s Mr Rat, and Mr Key! Good morning, Mr Key, erm… how are you today?“
Rik Mayall. That’s how.
@@marycrawley3828mad Gerald is a different character played by the same actor. Although it is still 3 if you count Robin Hood in the back and forth episode.
@@englishtwisterace Rimmer was in 3 episodes of red dwarf.
Dimension jump. Emohawk - polymorph II. Stoke me a clipper.
Hey girls look at my machinery!
Can't imagine the outtakes when Mayall was on set. What a legend.
We could sure use The New Statesman today.
Absolutely!
Alan Bas~tard for PM....
We do. It’s Nigel Farage😂
My Grandmother smoked herself to death for the collector cards. 🤣👍🏻
Tony also appeared in many successful shows. Great Crew. All of them.
I love his History programmes and the shows where he covers the Unexplained ect.
He’s Excellent 👍🏻
Haha 😂this quote is flat out hilarious 😂
@@rhysoneill7399 What quote?
I've always saw that as a good reason to shoot him, pointing a gun at him saying "My grandmother smoked herself to death for the collector cards of you!"
Flash by name, Flash by nature!! Lord Flashheart is amazing!!
3:23 "Have you any idea what it's like to have the wind rushing through your hair?" 😂
"Do you have any idea how it is to have the wind rushing trough your hair?" this is golden. After 20 years I still chuckle now and then thinking of this scene
WOOF WOOF!
Samuel Williams “its like cruffs round.”
@@Justin-Theobald You know what Flasheart says: "Next time you want something, take it!" WOOF WOOF!
Ahh, those were magical days. Never to come again. Thanks for posting.
As someone who lives in the town that built the British planes for ww1
Sorry for giving flash his plane
Its ok, he forgives you
Why should you say sorry?
A) he ran out of petrol (looks more like a human error)
B) else rik mayal wouldnt make his appearence (dont know if its the same episode in which Flashheart saves em from a bosch cell)
would that be Farnborough
@@celticguy197531 yes
@@solarsatan9000 lol i am an Aldershot boy
In that tribute the BBC did for him, every person they interviewed was talking about how handsome Rik Mayall was, which given sorts of things he was doing in most of this TV appearances can sometimes be hard to fathom. But Blackadder in particular restored his natural good looks and enhanced them in both his appearances. Lord flashheart is a genuine snack.
No offence to any Germans but "Eat Knuckle Fritz" 👊 is genius
Genius indeed!
Rik mayall. Oft imitated, never bettered. 2 legends right here! RIP rik!
Is their a better entrance to a scene than
"Ha! Eat knuckle Fritz!" Lol
Flasheart was the absolute dogs nuts!! God bless you Rick
(When you finally find the camper thats been shooting you the whole match) 0:01
Only for it to be a team kill...
@@musicalsith6895 Still worth doing
I have watched this over and over again since the day it was first aired, and still think Rik has absolute comedy timing in this.😂
OK, dig out your best booze and let's talk about me till the car comes. The delivery is just perfect Rik was literally an artist.
Mayall seemed to show up once in every season. I'll never forget his classic line. "Am oy 'appy to see yoo, or did I just stick a CANOOO in me pocket??"
He was Norwegian?
down boy, down
Mayall was very, very British!
Steven Pilling he only showed up in series 2 and 4
Then the producers missed a good bet. He should have been a regular.
Wee John Poopong Mcplop is comedy gold.
Jock
@@WaxingRadiance Jock is John
@@DavidSmith-wn6pw Not in this scene it isn't.
Rik Mayall and Rowan Atkinson sharing the screen together... Only dreams are made of content this good.
There's film out there somewhere of REAL RAF pilots watching this in the officer's mess..... And just about shitting themselves laughing.
RAF was formed in 1918. So Flasheart is in the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) 😀
My old man was RAAF (Aussie) pilot in the 70s-80s and showed me the episode on VHS!
@@richardmoon3745 Which became the Royal Air Force, in the same way, the Continental Army became the U.S. Army.
I love the line "dumped the kite on the proles" right while he's standing next to a Lord.
Easily the best episode. Rik Mayall stole the show. Hilarious!
He did the same in Black Adder 2 episode as well. Must have been a challenge to record the episode for the actors knowing all eyes 👀 would be on Rick for that weeks episode.
The character he was playing was supposed to.
Flash's reaction when he looks at Baldrick 😭😂
I forgot how much I loved Blackadder.
This killed me.
"Thought I'd landed sausage side"
or how about a sausage to hang my wifes towels on.
The best show ever some of the best British comedy you will ever see
Wow awesome performance with tons of energy by two of the best british comedians.
"This is a British trench." Blackadder in this season is so gloriously phlegmatic.
Gordon’s alive!!
Wait wrong flash.
😂💫
Lord Flashheart and Ace Rimmer are the two greatest british heroes of all time.
Mayall's delivery and timing is pinpoint accurate. Made Flashheart a legendary comedy figure.
The reaction when he ruffles baldricks hair lol 😆 😂 🤣
Love this group of men, so awesome.
I almost didn't recognized Rik Mayall by his looks in this sketch. I recognized him only after he spoke.
'Or I'll fly back to England and give your wife something to hang her washing on!'
*towels
@@ZesPak yes, you are right! I realised that afterwards 😏.
...although hanging the washing on would be more impressive in length, if not in girth.

Gotta love Flasheart!!
"My God!"

WOOF! Rik was a force of nature.
Proper happy Blackadder is on CZcams, can't scroll past it
If ever there was an actor born for a role, it was Rik Mayall as Flash. Absolute comedy genius, I can cry with laughter every time I watch him in this. God bless you Rik, we all miss you so much and thank you for entertaining us all in the best way possible, you are a god of comedy and will never be forgotten, rest in peace buddy 👍🏼☺️
I love Flashheart's reaction as he claps eyes on Baldrick :D
I love flashy, miss you Rick where ever you are.
At least Rik’s wearing gloves while ruffling Baldrick’s hair 😂
2:11 whenever I walk into a room full of people 🤣🤣🤣.
I love all the Blackadders, but it was long overdue someone gave one of them a good sock in the nose! Who better than Flashheart?
Best Episode Ever.
Flasheart's personality is just like mine 😄Woof woof!!
When you think of it, Blackadder was one of the wittiest in terms of dialogue of any British Comedy, and Mr Bean would be acknowledges as possibly one of the world's best visual comedy... and Rowan Atkinson was in both. Really says a lot.
Love Rick he just took over.
My god .
I like the little double take Flash does when he notices baldrick
Timeless comedy
Lord Flasheart is an absolute hero the greatest historical figure ever.
You've never read the Flashman books?
Actual comedy how endangered this thing we took for granted has become.
I love that Rik Mayall could play a character like Lord Flashheart and his polar opposite Richie (in Bottom) so convincingly. And who could forget Rick in The Young Ones...😉
Rick with a silent “P”?
Rik mayall, amazing man
R.I.P
God I miss you Rik Mayall u were part of my life growing up and penned my humour for life along with bernard manning and chubby brown
Rik was the funniest human being on the face of the planet. Stole every scene he was in. Even from the amazing Rowan Atkinson... which is saying a lot
Rowan pretty much admitted he just let Rik steal the scene as he knew he wouldn't be able to match him. Same for Blackadder II.
A true legend!
Every one on blackadder was great all star lineup where will we ever see a collection of comic actors like them in one place again
@@garrybaldy327 Thats rowan being humble
Yeah but this scene show that Rik and Rowan both excel but in different ways. Rik is funny as the loudmouth cocky bastard while Rowan is great being this dry, sarcastic character
I love him 🤣
It can be arranged!
God Bless George Macdonald Fraser for creating Flashman.
Rick Johnson Rick would of made a great Flashman
@@hansgruber3064 You're far too gracious.
There were rumours that there was going to be a series made by the same company that did Sharpe of the Flashman books starring James Purefoy. I'd sell my left kidney to have seen it made, ti would have been outstanding.
"Wee Jock Poo-Pong McPlop" :D ROFL.
Woof Woof it's Lord Flash. 😁
Harry Flashman take off. Well done.
