Northern people from Thailand are possibly the most polite and calm compared to other Thai regions. Their demeanor simply radiates coziness because of how soft and well spoken they are (Though their dialect could be hard to understand, even among themeselves)
Mushrooms đ
Which is saying a lot considering how polite Thai people are compared to the rest of the world
Most of them are refugee from burma.
Thanks for calling us polite đ
@@cobbstopper Come to my country keningau..You will be shocked by how polite we are..Its 5 consecutive year without any crime heređ
His interactions with any culture is nothing short of amazing. Heâs the ideal tourist in everyoneâs eyes. Eager to learn, completely respectful, doesnât disrespect any traditions and integrates himself into the place heâs in. Big props to him
I like how he doesnât shove the food down their throats, he lets them have a taste test, and always confirms with them to see if they like it. The guy is being insanely respectful and courteous compared to most other people and tourists.
I wish people would be that respectful of the US when they visit here, for people who always tell us that we are rude and obnoxious when we're overseas they're nothing but disrespectful when they visit my country. At least that's the case for West Europeans and Chinese
@@kidfox3971 that's the thing though, the stereotypical tourist can be from any place, visiting anywhere, and unfortately there will always be some. You even get it from within countries(posh people from London and such visiting the south west for example XD, im sure it happens in the US like this too lol).

I love trying junk food from other countries. It all varies so widely from region to region and I love their reactions.
I remember the first time I tried American candy. I still remember how sweet it was. I'm from poland and 99% of the time I eat "sweets" it's fruits that someone buys me, the other 1% is when I'm gifted chocolate, icecream or when my grandmother bakes a pie. Poland and USA (probably) have similiar sweets of course, but it still suprised me.
I was not born from exactly Northern Thailand, but I was born in Thailand, my father too much I canât gođ
as a thai from bangkok, im very glad that some people at chiangmai can communicate in english because its very hard for most of us to learn new language but most of us love american candies. im eating it right now actually
I love how whenever he does this, he's not rude to their culture.
Yeah no shit. Heâs not going to make a video of him being racist đ€Šââïž
fr someone who was there said sumđ€Šđœââïž
I don't like the term 'tribe'. He makes it sound as if he is some kind of Ernest Hemingway celebrating the 'purity' of the tribal/primitive. It's like when white people visit impoverished countries and come back with stories of how 'pure and innocent' they are. It is well intended but it always makes me feel a bit uneasy.
@@roddo1955 Well get over it, Sensitive Sally. It shouldn't make you feel uneasy. A âtribeâ is literally the collective noun for humans in general.
umm... actually he was a bit rude. He has been rude and annoying in other videos, I've seen him do. I don't care for him.
Love watching people from different countries and cultures come together to try new things. Even if they don't like the new experiences sometimes it's just so fun to try new things like this :D

These people are beautiful inside and out. The kids are adorable. I was surprised they liked the candy so much! Great video as always.
Lol no. The things they are doing to their necks isnt good at all.
@@sosososososo123 You sound extremely edgy. How would you feel if someone belittles your cultural choices as well?
@@sosososososo123 They seem fine to me, I bet those rings do less harm than the average western diet. Nobody lives forever and I doubt they care how you feel about their traditions. Maybe if you've nothing constructive to say, just keep your opinions to yourself.
@@FiendlingBM lol neck stretching is dangerous. It could result in paralysis and even be fatal. It causes weaken neck muscles and ce be very painful especially while working in the fields and all of that just because they are trying to please mens beauty standards lmao.
@@sosososososo123 Lots of things in life are dangerous, who wants to live forever? If this was being forced on you or me, you'd have a point. Without that it's just weird virtue signalling about obscure tribal people, which I fail to see the point of.

I remember when my Asian grandmother gave me a box of chocolate ferreo rocher, the moment I took a bite I went to hyper mode and was the best thing ever!

These sorts of videos are part of what makes this channel stand apart from every other food channel and I love it. Not only does Sonny try as much food as he can, but we get to see something even more rare in watching rural folk trying things that most people in the western world are used to in the middle of him experiencing and sharing a glimpse into their culture.

There is just something so wholesome about watching people eat things they wouldn't ordinarily get the chance to!
It seems more accurate to specify that their willingness, curiosity, and trust is wholesome. There's nothing the least bit wholesome about these American products, quite the opposite, in fact
@@lousialb8962 Thanks for clarifying because what I wrote was SO confusing... đ
@@BipolarGremlin How we talk about things affects how we think about things. How we think about things affects how we are in the world. Words matter.
I clarified the actual situation to draw it into conscious awareness and, thus, disrupt destructive "American exceptionalism."
If my clarification accurately reflects what your comment intended, it can be received as a satisfying confirmation. That you rolled your eyes suggests that I may have exposed an inaccuracy that may have escaped even your notice. This is not an attack, it's an opportunity to reflect on what may be something subconsciously planted and influential that you don't actually believe but that, unchallenged, can direct your behaviour automatically
@@lousialb8962 Nothing I said was inaccurate. I rolled my eyes because it was a very simply worded comment which got my point across. You coming in with your comment explaining what I said was not required, any idiot with a brain could have gotten what I meant given the context of the video. Honestly it just makes you seem like a know it all who holds their intelligence over other people in some self centered belief of superiority. Let someone enjoy something without the need to educate. Jesus.
@@lousialb8962 yeah like opiums and alcohol, or covers with diseases, now itâs sugar bomb, haha silly Americans.
It's fun to see their reactions. Though in Thailand (even in Chiang Rai and rural places) 7-11 has a lot of these candies, like Kit Kat, original Skittles, Hershey Cookies and Cream, Haribo Cola (very popular!) and Ferrero Rocher. The older people may not have tried this stuff but you can be sure the younger ones have.
I love how sour candy can bring a big smile to almost anyone's face.
Nice to see unfamiliar cultures enjoying 'desserts' I love. Also just think these people seem so friendly and nice. Love this kind of series

Lol it's so funny and adorable to see everyone's reaction
Edit: Idk about other people but in my asian family they will always say "It's good" then force themselves to eat.
1. Don't like wasting
2. Doesn't like disappointing the person who gave or made the food.
3. Too shy to be honest (Especially if there's a camera around)

I love how they are feeding these people Skittles like right after they are declared "UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION"

No, some dumbass is pursuing a lawsuit against them, claiming that because they use titanium dioxide at all they are unfit, but the percentage used of titanium dioxide as colourant is within the FDA limitations, that is, below 1% of the food product, and no doubt European-sold Skittles will have it removed by the time the ban goes into effect.
