      @javierortiz82 Před 4 lety

      Not everyone loves it, electronic music ages horribly and this is basically an europop mixtape, I like rock soundtracks on fighting games personally, but many other genres fit as long as they put effort in creating something fitting, like the bluesy, classic, jazzy, folk soundtrack of Fatal Fury, Art Of Fighting and earlier kof's. The soundtrack of MVC and MVC2 was lazily made and was probably just outsourced rather than designed with the game in mind.

    • @Judgment
      @Judgment Před 4 lety +10

      CvS2 soundtrack is good. The variety in numbers is a bit lacking during actual game play, as there's not many stages to choose from, especially during the arcade days (only six stages were available in versus mode - New York was surprisingly available in 1P only). All things considered, it aged very well. So did CvS1 to be honest.

    The reason people love the Cube controller is because it feels good on the hands, the A button on the center and the rest of the buttons around make it easy to press simultaneously with the other buttons, the stick feel like they can endure everything and are precise, and that "clang" sound the triggers do make you feel like you're actually pulling a trigger.

    CvS2 is truly a great fighting game. It doesn't see the play from me it used too, but it brought so much and even now I am sure I only touched the tip of the iceberg. One of the things I loved was its nods to other fighters, for instance., when Sagat wins and can be heard saying "try again kid" a reference to his what the player heard when they lost in the first street fighter. Even claw, who would shake his head when matched against those he deemed ugly!

    C Groove is from the Alphas--3 level bar supers.
    A Groove is from Alpha 2--custom combo super.
    P Groove is from Street Fighter III--parrying, one bar for full super, including raging demon.
    S Groove is from SNK titles that use the single bar super that you can manually charge by holding ABC (KOF 94, 95, 96, 97 Extra Mode, for example)--called Extra Gauge in this game.
    N Groove is from KOF 97 and 98 Advanced Mode--3 bars can be stored, built up by doing moves and charged by pressing ABC, allowing a more powerful super--called Advanced Gauge.
    K Groove is Rage Gauge from the Samurai Shodown series--a single super bar that builds by being hit.

    Fun detail about the Xbox version: it only cost $5 :)
    An edition of the US Official Xbox Magazine, which included a demo disc, had a "demo" of the game that was the full thing! Sure, it was in Japanese only and didn't allow saving, but those limitations were not deal breakers! So sorry Capcom because even though I am a big fan of your fighting games (and SNK's!), I didn't buy it because Official Xbox Magazine pretty much gave it away!

    The reason the gamecube version was inferior was never about the controller. It was about the techs that other versions had were removed from the gamecube specifically. The roll cancel was removed in gc but it was placed in other versions. So obviously you’re missing out on a big gameplay feature used as a staple in the arcade.

    What made this game so special was Capcom’s run in the arcade. I knew about SNK fighters but it was more embraced by the Latin community in the West. Plus SNK cabinets were made for lefty which I’ve seen people would have to cross their arms on Capcom’s cabinets. So when CvS1 dropped it gave me a better appreciation for the SNK culture due to Capcom’s crossover success with Marvel. CvS2 was the last of the Arcade Era and exceeded expectations. The character select music gets me inspired.
