How We Breed Our Sheep in the Summer! (OUT OF SEASON BREEDING): Vlog 330

  • Breeding season is here! Except... for a sheep, we have to set the mood.
Sheep breed typically in the shorter day lengths, so summer breeding can be challenging... in this video, I discuss how I try to make this happen and we see the sheep over the week to observe progress!
I don't know about anyone else, but watching this go down has to be the most comical part of my job.
    Love you all!

I helped my daughter bred them for 2 years and had the babies for other students to raise and then show and sell. We had fun and learned so much, so that’s why I enjoy watching all the new things you do to sync their estrus and using multiple rams to ensure coving the ewes. Thanks for sharing!

It is very interesting. Both from a lamb consumer as well as a knitting perspective - and lambs are adorable!

I love your videos I did not know much about sheep apart from they have lambs in the spring and they live in flocks in big field’s and if get poorly then the farmer treats them and they used to sheep dip but you have taught me a lot because one day I want my own small holding with horses couple of sheep , pigs , goats etc and chickens so yes very informative so thank you
