If you like being blown away, try PMJ with Morgan James singing "Dream ON" --yep, Arrosmith. It's also the first time I've ever herd a cello played the way it is in this, and PMJ does so in no less than Dream ON
so good
In my opinion, Morgan and Haley are two of the best singers to perform with PMJ.
Another great cover. Please react. Peace ✌️
What I was gonna say
I concur!!!🙏🤘
FYI...she did this while on tour with PMJ. They decided to do this when she wasn't feeling well and did it in ONE TAKE !! For me, this was the best cover of any song ever covered...hyperbole for some, but not for me !!
There is so many great female vocalist, but IMO, she's the BEST female vocalist on the Planet, bare none !!
P.S. She has a large playlist, but checkout her PMJ versions of "Seven Nation Army"; "Habit"'; "Don't Speak"; "All About The Base"; and her own video of "Don't Know How To Love You"...and many more !!🤩
Please watch her version of seven nation army. You won’t be disappointed
I agree - not hyperbole!
There ARE so many female vocalistS. (plural). "Bar none". bare = naked, exposed. bar= not excluding. "check out", not checkout. Why can't people use English at a basic high school level in the USA now? Yes, you can flaunt the word "hyperbole" and yet you ignore basic English grammar. Your teachers have failed you. Academia has become incarcerated propaganda for the American population.
@@1johncabs As a point of reference and prospective, I have 2 post graduate degrees; served as a CFO for several national companies; and, ran my own business for 25 years. I also participated in school debates and averaged an A- in all my english classes !! So just FYI, when typing a quick response to the video before it goes off-line, mistakes can happen...in these situations people make errors...SO WHAT (I don't need lessons from you) ??
Conclusion - you have FAILED at being courtesy and/or not very understanding of circumstances. I don't know if you're married or not, but if so, I pity your wife and/or kids...how does that feel you arrogant a**hole !!
@@nickerpsg1 "failed at being courteous", not "failed at being courtesy". You continue to illustrate my point. Degrees are obviously not indicative of competency and bragging about those simply demonstrates hubris and arrogance. Ad hominem personal attacks are demonstrative of your need for a "safe space" and the degree to which you seem to be "triggered" by reality. You do need basic English lessons from someone. Good luck! I wish you all the best.
Check her out in 7 Nation Army. 30's style New Orleans jazz. OMG. Her scatting is jaw dropping- of course, her dad taught it to her when was not yet old enough to talk. So, she's literally grown up scatting in her singing. Haley is (in mho) PMJ's best vocalist- and says a lot as they have many excellent singers!
This is one of the great vocal performances of all time. Haley Reinhart is amazing and the arrangement by PMJ is spot on. Thanks for the great reaction! God bless you, too.
MY FAVORITE COVER OF ANY SONG.
EVER. MOST LOVELY YOU ARE.
Haley IS Jessica Rabbit! In 2015, she toured and recorded with PMJ. This recreation of "Creep" was their best. Others (all good) from that year included "Seven Nation Army" ( czcams.com/video/sB6HY8r983c/video.html ), "All About that Bass" ( czcams.com/video/aLnZ1NQm2uk/video.html ), "Mad World" ( czcams.com/video/aVevvbFNKiY/video.html ), "Black Hole Sun" ( czcams.com/video/R6RD6mjiIZE/video.html ), and "Oops!... I Did It Again" ( czcams.com/video/g_HN50TLuaI/video.html ). Then, many years passed before Haley & PMJ teamed up again -- for a wonderful version of "Don't Speak" ( czcams.com/video/Txi7QuO99kM/video.html ).
I remember watching Haley Reinhart on "American Idol" back in 2011 (she placed 3rd). Loved her sultry voice & it really suits her doing this old style of singing with Postmodern Jukebox. This is a great cover of "Creep".
Haley performs music from ALL genres with such power and SOUL......." I wish I was special......." oh......and that Band, especially the horns!
great reaction carlie shea. haley reinhart is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley especially with postmodern jukebox is incredible. all the other haley/pmj ones are great also: "all about the bass", "habits", "black hole sun", "mad world", "seven nations army", "oops i did it again", "lovefool" and the very recent "don't speak".
i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. even when she uses very little of her unique vocal acrobatics, her pure raw soft voice is amazing like in the intro of "creep". you see this even more in her solo platinum cover of "can't help falling in love" for the extra gum commercial which is truly stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: (czcams.com/video/_uNpEbt7w_o/video.html )
The PMJ (featuring Haley Reinhart) covers are some of my favorite. Check out their cover of Seven Nation Army - incredible.
I was introduced to Haley Reinhart on American idol about 12 years ago. I believe she placed third. She really should have won the show. Her version of House of the rising Sun on American idol is legendary to those who saw it. One of the best I've ever seen. Haley is basically a jazz and blues singer and you certainly can tell from her rendition of creep. Honestly, I think this is my favorite version of the song even better than the original!
PMJ is a group that I have followed for quite a while. You need to check them out on CZcams as they have hundreds of performances and different artists highlighted in different songs. And their style is unique just like this performance.
Beats heavy metal, rap, hip-hop. Real voice and music.
the style is late 30`s through the 40`s. it`s very well done , and she has a great voice !
You know, there are many great singers and songs out there lately with performances that are just I boldly and stocking.. with their excellence, that is...
You have Devin Townsend screaming his head off in the most amazing, powerful way. In 2020, you had 10 year old Jackie Evancho singing the prayer and a whole bunch of Aria's with Pitch Perfect excellence and emotional crystal-clear angelic delivery... and then about eight years ago you had a nine-year- and two month old Angelina Jordan performing I Put a Spell on You in the most astonishing amazing professional and perfect way.
And here we have the experience Haley Reinhart who started herself as a very tiny toddler, performing live and in one full take, what might be the music histories most perfect performance here on CZcams.
I am not trying to slight the great Dima who has many super amazing performances out there since he turned about 21, Octomom this is so talented and so amazing coming from this woman... and done in the most sensual sexy way. Message received
Yeah, she's an incredible vocalist, and Post Modern Jukebox is a lot of fun. Definitely check more of it out.
The piano player is Scott Bradlee, founder and leader of PMJ. He is also the one who does the arrangements for the instruments and the vocals. You should check out PMJ and Haley doing White Stripes "Seven Nation Army." Haley is the perfect Jessica Rabbit.
THIS!!!
Also, "Dream on" with Morgan James is also another masterpiece! Both are my two favorites by PMJ..i think you'll swoon for that one as well
Next: Creep version by the drummer of a group you know; The Warning. Pau also plays piano and sings … check it ! You will not be disappointed
Haley has been a wonderful and talented artist who's success being an independent vocalist has resulted into film, commercial work, concert events here and in Europe and currently four albums but her appearances with PostModern Jukebox are some of the most watched in PMJ's catalog.
7 Nation Army
Black Hole Sun
Don't Speak
My favorite singer of the past decade.
Hi, I had subbed a few days ago because of Angelina Jordan, but as I'm a Halien Angel I need both of them in my life, Angelina and Haley. So I'm very glad your channel now provides for all my needs... just continue going down both rabbit holes, you'll find that deep under the earth they meet and you can switch from one to another without ever having to return to the surface again... :)
Great reaction! Haley has a fantastic voice and stage presence. I saw her perform live a few months ago and she was amazing! PMJ's All About That Jazz with Haley and Morgan James is another must listen.
Haley Reinhart and PMH have covered: "Oops, I Did It Again", "Lovefool", "Seven Nation Army", "Black Hole Sun" and "Don't Speak", amongst other songs. Any and all are well worth your considerairon.
Thank you for your content.
This rendition of Creep belongs in the "Amazing Covers Hall of Fame." Seriously, this number is in my top ten of ALL TIME musical performances. Any artist, any genre, past or present. This is simply stunning. I really liked your reaction as well!!
There are so many. "About that bass", "Maps", "All of me", the list is huge. If I understand correctly, the idea was from Scott Bradlee and it started in his apartment.
When you first start listening to Haley singing Creep, her wonderful voice hits you right between the eyes because it is so beautiful.
As that version of Creep you just reacted to stayed on the Billboard Digital Jazz Chart for 58 straight weeks. As Haley Reinhart is by far the best vocalist to have ever performed with Postmodern Jukebox.
In fact, prior to Haley's arrival all PMJ ever played were cheap dives and tiny venues. Then after Haley arrived on the scene and quickly recorded several music videos with them that all went viral, suddenly PMJ found itself filling Coliseums and Arenas.
Meanwhile, other must react to music videos performed by Haley with PMJ are "Seven Nation Army", "Don't Speak", "Oops, I Did It Again", "Habits", and "All About That Bass". All of them will literally blow you and your subscribers away.
Haley has the most beautiful voice I ever heard.
If you havent seen them yet look at eddy van halen guitar solo. And FRANKINSTINE by the White brothers or edgier white
I like her version of “Sunny Afternoon“ and also “I don’t know how to love you”
Love PMJ and hope you do more may I suggest, Don't Speak with Haley, Dream On with Morgan James, Maps is a fun one with Morgan James...I could go on, but for starters
PMJ is an enormous rabbit hole with dozens of singers rotating through. If they come nearby they are worth a day drive. Definitely check out PMJ and Puddles Pity Party version of Chandelier or Royals
love your reactions yes it was an amazing cover great vocals
All the great vocal styles in one package unbelievably presented by the classiest female vocalist and band. Scott Bradley the piano player music arranger and leader of the band is a musical genius.
You don’t miss anything girl. Love it
Haley is a world class vocalists, enjoyed your reaction
PMJ is a very, very deep well of entertainment. Lots of brass, which I really like, great costumes, fantastic arrangements by Scott (the piano player) in such a great variety of styles and eras, and lots of different vocal talents! My favorites are Rude, All the Small Things, Thriller (featuring Wayne Brady!!!), Dream On, Don't Stop Believing, Thrift Shop, Burn, Don't Speak, Seven Nation Army, We Can't Stop. So much more!
Sooooo good!!!
I think you'll be pleasantly stunned by many of Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox arrangements. Check out Morgan James "Dream On" and Haley's "Seven Nation Army" and Tess Mohr's "Call Me"... just to start. It won't be long and you'll have an entire PMJ playlist...
You were late to the Party but your Reaction was Amazing! Love seeing everyone being blown away by “blowing off the covers” of these already classic songs. Her performances are “Musical Theater Masterpieces!!!”
Haley Reinhart owns covers of Creep and Eva Cassidy owns covers of Over the Rainbow. Thanks for the reaction. I have watched this at least a hundred times so it is so cool to see it fresh from someone else's eyes...
Like you, I've watched this more times than I can count...and each time I watch the entire performance. Haley has a hypnotic stage presence.
I really hate to be that person... (sigh) Eva did a very nice job on 'Over the Rainbow', but I'm sorry... best cover of it belongs to Iz
@@jduncanandroid Yeah, Brudda Iz was in a class all his own.
@@jduncanandroid That's why there is both chocolate and vanilla ice cream...
@@jessievoisin5462 - fair enough, but I don't really trust people who prefer vanilla :P
also what is even more impressive is that this masterpiece was actually completed in one take with a tired voice and all but one of the postmodern jukebox covers are done live with no auto-tune, etc more info in links below:
here is the history of "creep" one take from scott bradlee (the creator and pianist from postmodern jukebox): czcams.com/video/MskKSH1Kf4U/video.html.
here is additional history on haley and "creep" from #1 fan haleyTusk (even has a color pic of her from that day): czcams.com/video/eVASTaIoTYw/video.html
PMJ did Don't Speak with Haley. So great!
She's an amazing vocalist. Why she's not a superstar is beyond me. She doesn't play the games the music industry wants and is her own person. She does all genres of music well. Her parents played in rock bands her whole life so she sort of grew up singing and has performed on stage since she was a little girl.. Her cover of No Doubt's "Don't Speak" with PMJ is well worth reacting to.
I wish she had sung this as her parting song when she lost on American Idol to a girl you never heard from again
Welcome to the PMJ rabbit hole. Their covers are amazing.
Great reaction. Fun to watch you get lulled into the Haley Reinhart machine. For something a little different, check out PMJ’s cover of All About the Bass.
PMJ is awesome. For Haley check out Black Hole Sun or 7 Nation Army to name two. PMJ with Morgan James Dream On is a must, then Take Me To Church is also amazing. This is just a couple I like, but they are all great including a couple with both of these amazing singers. BTW you will notice the players change but Scott the piano player is always there, He IS PMJ and arranges the songs and picks the players, a real behind the scenes genius.
You'll love their version of Seven Nation Army with Haley.... And Dream On with Morgan James
Great reaction! You MUST react to Haley's cover of Seven Nation Army. You will LOVE it! :D
This song gets played... at least.. 5 times a week where I'm at, in the car usually.
I believe she covers Elvis's, I Cant Help Falling In Love With You. Amazing!
Wow.
thank you for introducing me to such an incredible voice
... goosebumps =)
You should check out Paulina from the warning doing a piano cover of creep.
Truly a great Reaction, I played trumpet marching band, give Pete Fountain tribute "Honky Tonk" a listen for a ensemble.
if you like this you should check out their version of 7 nation army. absolutely fantastic
Haley should have won American Idol....think she finished 3rd (I really don't recall). She is great!!! Morgan James is one of her buddies who also did Idol and solo's for PMJ.
I believe there is a small discrepancy made in your comment, and to clear it up I'd like you to source your statement of Morgan being on American Idol. Perhaps you confused AI with Juilliard or Broadway.
Morgan James graduated Juilliard, has done broadway & opera. What she has never done is compete in any reality show singing competition….
I suggest PMJ and Haley singing Seven Nation Army, PMJ and Puddles singing Chandelier, ... pretty much PMJ and everything.
You are my new favorite reactor. Your awesome. 💯
Young Beauty....gotta hear and these guys doing Dont Speak....Black Hole Sun....Seven Nation Army and All About That Bass! fantastic
I think Haley has the single most impressive voice I've ever heard. It's not landing incredible high notes like Mariah, or Whitney, or Celine. But it's her effects. The aspirant singing, the breaks, the yodels in her passagios, the rasp, the growl, the falsetto, the scat, the cries, the wales, the way she transforms her vowels into that pouty jazz lounge style... not to mention her naturally husky speaking voice. This is one of the sexiest performances ever. She's an absolute genius.
One listen and you'll be hooked. Loved her on Idol.
Now listen to PMJ with Morgan James covering Aerosmith and Steven Tyler's Dream On. Just as incredible as this!!
One Take: enter the legend. Haley is one of those that can just stand and deliver. PMJ has so many great vids. Haley is definitely my fav. singing with them "Don't Speak" along with Morgan James "Dream On"
Postmodern Jukebox ft. Morgan James Dream On Aerosmith cover will floor you! Also Don’t Speak with Hailey is beautiful!
Congrats!!! You have now watched two of the most amazing performances ever put to 'film', "I Put a Spell on You" and now this, "Creep" :-)
Welcome to Hailey Reinhart!!! (and Post Modern Jukebox, too!) This was the video that got me hooked on watching reactors and it simply never gets old!
PMJ "all about that base" also with Haley and a couple of other vocalist, you will love it as well. Great reaction! Just subscribed.
toss up between this one and seven nation army. she nails both
Postmodern Jukebox is Scott Bradley's (on the piano)thing. They cover modern songs in more classic music styles and they feature various artists. To a slower degree, they rotate instrumental musicians, I assume, when they get noticed and move on to amazing careers, with PMJ as a springboard.
Should check out Their Closer Cover in a 50"s style Prom version its amazing
"Creep" Cover by Allie Sherlock & The 3 Busketiers live on the Crafton Street in Dublin.
This was my favorite song until Haley, and PMJ did "Don't Speak" by No Doubt! Haley has several awesome songs with PMJ, and you should also check out Morgan James + PMJ.
🔥
If you liked that you should see her cover of White Stripes Seven Nation Army! It’s outstanding!!
I remember her too she should have won 😮
She is unbeliveble. This is better than THE original
💯
I love watching everyone who watches this and seeing how low their jaw drops the longer the video goes......
She, and PMJ, are great! Try their version of Seven Nation Army next. Well worth the time.
I love PMJ. I highly recommend they cover off seven nation army.
If you continue with PMJ reactions Hailey is always a good time I really like her "Blackhole Sun" cover.
Another singer that does PMJ is Morgan James. I feel her "Maps" cover is rarely suggested but is personally my favorite collab she has done with PMJ.
PMJ to check out: Morgan James in "Dream On" and in "Maps".
Now you are ready for Don't Speak (No Doubt cover) with Haley Reinhart and PMJ (Postmodern Jukebox). Success!!
She sings more with PMJ.. Try "Seven Nation Army" and "Black Hole Sun" both featuring Haley.
That's Haley.. She has a few others from PMJ you should definitely check out.
I love PostmodernJukebox, so many talented musicians and such a magnificent project conceptually. Thank you for an excellent reaction to this top notch cover. I have some other works by them to recommend:

Every song I have heard covered by PMJ has been great they work with a variety of featured artist, all good, I love her, but also you should try out PMJ featuring Puddles Pity Party - he's nothing like you'd expect.
The group did this song in one take.
Now put the Haley version up side to side with Creep's and watch what develops ... it is simply amazing.
try "take me to church" by Post mod Juke with Morgan James or "Dream on"
Don't think of PMJ as a rabbit hole. Think of it more as a spider's web. For every video you watch you will be dragged down the strand of yet another singer. Now that you've discovered Hayley you have to check out her cover of "My Baby Just Cares For Me" with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. If you've watched Jurassic Park you might recognise the keyboard player, and you could well be trapped in yet another web.
Yeah, Haley is spectacular and what's really cool about PMJ - other than just the concept by itself - is that it's not so much a band as a rotating collective of musicians that features a bunch of really great singers and instrumentalists dropping in and out for various performances. For some more PMJ reactions that I think you'll love:
- SEVEN NATION ARMY (featuring Haley Reinhart): It's a cover of the White Stripes song, "Seven Nation Army," which PMJ and Haley do as a 1930s style New Orleans dirge.
- HABITS (featuring Haley Reinhart): This is a cover of Tove Lo's song, "Habits," redone with kind of a Billie Holiday vibe. Every time I hear this one, the hook is stuck in my head for at least a week.
- DREAM ON (featuring Morgan James): Morgan is one of the other PMJ vocalists that people love (and for good reason!). In this one (probably the most popular of the Morgan James x PMJ collabs), they cover Aerosmith's classic "Dream On" and PMJ's arrangement plus Morgan's deeper, smokier, classier torch singer vocals pretty much turn it into a James Bond theme.
- MAPS (featuring Morgan James): This is a cover of Maroon 5's song, "Maps," done with a 60s soul feel. Morgan is one of the few singers who can do an Aretha Franklin song justice (as she does in some of her own videos on her channel) and she absolutely serves that power, energy, and soul on this cover. A lot of people will point you at "Dream On" - which is definitely great - but don't sleep on this "Maps" performance.
- ALL ABOUT THAT BASS (featuring Haley Reinhart, Morgan James, and Ariana Savalas): Obviously, this is a cover of Meghan Trainor's hit and is super fun but it's also notable because it has several of PMJ's most popular vocalists singing both together and separately as well as a pretty great bass solo by Casey Abrams and Adam Kubota.
I could go on and on but that list covers some of PMJ's most popular videos and is a great place to start exploring the PMJ rabbit hole.
I agree with letist - go listen to PostModern Jukeboxes with Morgan Games - Dream On - its just as good as Creep - and Morgan and Hailey have done some duets together that are also wonderful.
Subscribing hoping you will review more of Haley’s performances with PMJ, her own vids and the live vids out there. One of the best singers of our generation. Drops mic.
You're going to get his with a ton of heavy hitters from PMJ (Morgan James, Puddles), but I'd like to point you to some of the less well known. Natalie Angst doing Santoria as a Glen Miller cover is amazing. Just about anything by Ariana Savalas will need a cold shower afterward. She does 40's torch song styles really well. I'd start with No Diggity, Pony, or Criminal. And no trip down the PMJ rabbit hole is complete without everyone's favorite manic tambourine player. Start with Roar and wait for it.
Haley has been highlighted on her own CZcams site for over ten years and there are at least a few albums produced by her. If I'm not mistaken her father was a bigshot at Chess Records and she did a lot of things with him. She performed on stage for years and it's only been over the last year or two where she hooks up with PMJ as many other semi-established single artists have done.
Actually, Haley's parents have had a band all of her life and performed gigs around Chicago. Her dad worked a day job. Haley and her father did record a two-song set at Chess Records when the pandemic first struck. It was part of a live-streaming fundraiser that featured artists performing from around the country to raise money to help artists and venues impacted by live shows being halted.
Haley appeared on American Idol in 2011. When Scott Bradlee relocated from NYC to Los Angeles Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams were introduced to him soon after. In her first video with PMJ, she is performing in front of a bar. That is actually located inside an ad agency because Scott hadn't yet settled in (videos were typically performed in his living room). That was in JAN 2015. She did more videos thru 2016. And was part of the first PMJ European tour (followed by North America).
Those performances helped PMJ expand its reach. Her videos dominate the top 10 in views. The channel had about 1M subscribers then compared to nearly 6M now. In 2016, Haley recorded "Can't Help Falling in Love" for an Extra gum spot. It went viral and charted on the radio.
She put out her second album then. Produced by Concord Records, it's mostly covers from the mid- to late 1960s recorded to tape using vintage, analog equipment.. She included her mother and father in the making of it. The video for The Letter shows them together in the studio.
Haley's been touring on her own since 2016. For five years she also voiced the youngest son in the Netflix animated show, "F is for Family" (2015 to 2020). And appeared in a kid-oriented superhero movie on Netflix called, "We Can Be Heroes" (2020). She did record with PMJ again in 2021, performing "Don't Speak."
She's put out four albums altogether, plus an EP. She'll be on tour again in February and March.
@@vidpie Thanks for putting more accuracy to my comments. What I was trying to convey was that Haley is much more than just a member of a huge PMJ ensemble, which I felt the other comments were inadvertently saying.
Back in the day when Scott Bradlee and his brainchild, PMJ performed in his apt.
Featuring Morgan James singing Maroon Five's "Maps" as a 70s Soul version.
czcams.com/video/8gO_lxThc1M/video.html
PMJ are incredible.
