Grealish was a great transfer, IMO. Never mind his pace, and never mind that he's creating really good chances with balls in from the left. What's even better is that he draws tons of fouls in the danger areas. He really is a master of getting fouled. He protects the ball in such a way that defenders can't help stickling a foot in there. He's definitely added something to the City attack.

He just doesn’t fit city’s style of play and 100 million for a backup who barely scores or assists is lunacy. No being lenient and defending this transfer my friend.

Pep said Grealish was never brought in for goals. He didn’t score many goals at Villa either He is good at holding up play which allows his goal scoring teammates more time to position themselves. He also draws a lot of fouls and free kicks around the box. Not every attacker is about goals.
Exactly he gets picked on for not scoring goals but he’s good at passing and starting play

that is still not worth anything near 117 milion euro that they paid for him .
grealish is simply not good enough to cost this much no matter how you look at it - it was a massive overpay .
also guardiola is not a genius - he is not as good as he thinks he is .
he spend 9 seasons at top teams (3 at bayern and 6 in man.city.) and he still can´t win the UCL .
at barca he was carried by players rijkaard left for him - messi , iniesta and xavi was the greatest trio to ever play football together -
not to mention puyol as a great captain - those players would win champions league regardless of the name on the bench "coaching" them .
messi and co. even knocked out guardiola after he joined bayer winning 3:0 in the 1st leg of the semifinals and winning the trophy afterwards in 2015 .
The list is not complete without Hazard.
It was not a worth it transfer obvously but i dont think it was a dumb transfer at start
I agree with you. Hazard's transfer from Chelsea to Madrid was the dumbest decision in his career (not to mention that he was the best player throughout 2016, 2018 and 2019)

@@nadersharara8510 Kepa Arrizabalaga on the other hand was a panic buy which was badly overpriced on day one and only got worse from there as Alisson and Gianluigi Donnarumma went for lower prices while Unai Simon, David Raya, and Robert Sanchez are on the National Team over Kepa.
Edit: It gets worse, Unai Simon was in the Athletic Bilbao cantera at Bilbao Athletic (the B team) at the same time as Kepa was playing in Bilbao

Grealish is proving to be a great buy for Man City!
It's great to see players prove these people wrong, Grealish is killing it now, showing he is the prefect winger for Pep, a guy who can take people on one on one but can also keep possession and almost impossible to press also can draw lots of fouls, stretches defences and sends killer balls from the left, and now is a historic treble winner and a Champions League winner. Worth every penny ☺☺
Don't really expect these guys to understand how Pep works though, they could not even hold a conversation with Pep about football

Lots of terrible recruitment have taken Man utd & Barca from Champions League final to Europa League play-off round in 12 years.

I can make a list with only barca players.
Start from this season they signed bellerin, Christensen, kounde, Alonso this season when they already had alba, Araujo, Eric Garcia and balde.
Their midfield was packed but they still signed kessie and now he warms the bench.
They had lewa, Dembele, depay and fati and they still signed ferran and raphinha.
I mean the CB are justified, you can’t go a whole season with just two center backs. Alonso though is questionable. bellerin idk either. they signed kessie for squad depth. same with the attackers
Kessie and kounde were decent signing (coming from a real madrid fan)
Balde is an 18 yo kid, you just couldn't blindly trust him this summer, Eric Garcia just isn't good enough imo, Araujo got injured, you need that squad depth, I believe Christensen was on a free (although the wages are just insane), great rotation or even a starter option imo, Kounde is one of the best young CB atm and can also do a job at RB, you think he ain't better than Eric or Roberto at Cb/rb? Bellerin is there for squad depth because Barca are just lacking at RB, yes you have kounde but it's not his natural position, even if he can play there but if he gets injured or suspended who you got? And Marcos Alonso is a utility man that can play in multiple positions

You completely dropped the ball on the Di Maria situation at Man utd. The problem was LVG and his authoritarian style and keep the ball at all costs. In his first few games for us he was making runs down the left wing and playing direct and the fans loved it. But Louis van gal wanted him to pass sideways and be a robot. Di maria could of been a utd legend under an attacking manager but unfortunitly we had the Dutch Hitler

Coutinho should have stayed where he was, since leaving Anfield he has known nothing like the kind of highs that he used to enjoy.
By far the biggest benefactors out of that transfer were Liverpool who were able to purchase Van Dijk and Alisson.
