United, Barca, Real Madrid and Chelsea are notorious graveyards for exciting footballers. The amount of high profile transfers they've made which ended up ruining said players' careers is crazy. United managed to somehow ruin the legacy of Falcao, Sanchez, Di Maria, Maguire, Ibrahimovic, Schweinsteiger and even Ronaldo just off the top of my head. It blows my mind how these players haven't learned to be cautious before taking these big moves considering how often formerly incredible players end up failing miserably.

The reverse can be said for Van Persie to Manchester United from Arsenal. He was down and out as captain of Arsenal but next season with United he was on fire.
That is factual wrong, Van Persie had his best season for Arsenal and his entire carrer before he joined United the following summer. He scored 30 league goals, became top scorer in Premier League, played in all of the 38 matches in that season and he got the award for player of the season (we are talking about the 2011/2012 season). And no he wasnt down as their captain, in fact one of the reason why the transfer was a huge shock was because of this and of course because he was the best player in the league at that time.

Some players aren't too bright about the playstyle of the team they are going to. However, not many of us would turn down 250k a week to go play (every now and then) for Real or Barca when currently on 50k and playing every week in the cold and rain at Arsenal or Tottenham!

I know this is not destroying their carriers, but Ronaldo going to Juve or Messi to PSG were big mistakes. They should have stayed in Spain and for sure would have better future than what they now have.
Messi had no choice, but his post Barca career wasnât bad, at least his Argentina career made up for it. But Ronaldoâs move out of Madrid truly was disastrous.
