Tom Ranier has been a mainstay in the Los Angeles recording and jazz scenes for 50 years. A complete musician who is a masterful pianist, reed player, composer and arranger, Tom has worked with a Who’s Who of artists throughout his career. I had the good fortune of going to Santiago high school in Garden Grove, playing in the band in orchestra with Tom and knowing him with my friend Mike ‘Russell. I played the trumpet, and enjoyed it, but I knew Tom Rainier was going to be the ultimate musician with his dedication. He was able to pick up up any instrument and play it within a very short time.
