I think foden could play more on the left and have Alvarez play centrally. That way they can switch around and play fluid football like last week in the derby.

Kovacic. Why not play Kovacic? Calmness, control, possession, press resistant. Last thing we need is to be losing the ball in midfield and then chasing long balls over the top. Play Phil left, Bobb or Alvarez can come off the bench, and Kovacic in the middle. He’s been playing great and has the big game experience.

@@Hyster1aMcR Yeah ideally. Much more of a threat. What I would say though is you’d want that more against low block teams, to penetrate and where it’s not so bad if we lose the ball. I think Liverpool are open enough (and too dangerous on the transition) to just go for the more controlled approach, rather than the directness of Foden/Alvarez middle (or doku/nunes and to a lesser extent bobb)

Either Alvarez or Kova is going to start. Alvarez is more likely going to be left winger or Kova is going to be next to Rodri and have the back 4 stay back 4. I don’t see Bobb starting because of how young he is. TBH he didn’t do enough in champion league to warrant a start.
Yeah you are right! We obviously everytime have the control , possession and calmness. And on the other hand, Liverpool lives to a particular moment and as a whole plays sh*t . Hope they won't park the bus in front of the goal
Need control up top especially if Pep wants to play a high line and therefore I’d be all for Bobb on the left with Ake behind playing LB and Pep, please no wingbacks. A draw won’t help us. We need to win otherwise we are still behind Liverpool with a hard fixture against Arsenal. If we beat Liverpool we can relax and take a draw against Arsenal. But if we lose tomorrow we will need nothing but wins for the Rest of the campaign and will need Liverpool to lose a game or two

Kova can do a great job in driving the midfield to assist Rodri but my fear is carelessly lossing thw ball at midfield. Any little mistake there can give Nunes and M. Sala a devastating link up against City especially that City are all forward l.
