Finally I found muffled commercials, I fall asleep to them and I couldn't find the perfect one, most on them are too clear.
I love this. Now I can sleep to this one on loop.
That makes sense because Dave always remasters them to 4K or with his earlier videos HD
This put me to sleep while I was working. I’m a trucker, so this was a problem.
Looks like you're still alive, so that's good!
Good night👋🏼
This takes me back to when I was 6 years old and was listening to the TV my parents were watching in the livingroom until I fall asleep. 💜
I'm playing games on Switch and have this playing on the background. Its so calming....
Love it!
Omg that’s so true! Old school commercials are very calming for some reason.. it literally takes me back to my childhood and makes me feel so much better 🤣
Wow! I remember those commercials from when I was stationed in San Diego back in 89.
Growing up in El Cajon and Santee area, I absolutely love seeing all the local San Diego ads sprinkled in here. So great!
I was actually going to bed so this is perfect. Awesome idea! Got a 90's ASMR in the works?
Most definitely~!
@@DavesArchives sir I will give you a gold bar to get you as a guest for my podcast please say yes
@@8bitanarchy348 hehe, sure thing, sounds like fun. absolute60@hotmail.com
@@DavesArchives I will message you tomorrow morning to set it up, you just made my night good sir
So... if anyone else was wondering 'what film starred Ross Martin & Leslie Nielsen???' after some cursory research, it's 'the return of Charlie Chan' 1973.
VHS ASMR???? Omg I didn’t know I needed this but here we are
Thanks for the video! Best wishes. 😴
You're welcome, Stacy :)
Our local cable looked just like that even up until 2013ish. My mom has put ads up for a garage sale on there before, but nobody ever thought of taping them. Thank you for that intro and bringing that style up
That's pretty cool, Matthew, and you're most welcome!
that old Retro 80s look in everything should be the style of 2021 and beyond, lets do it
@@DavesArchivesI'm a teenager but as a Child from the 2000s this weirdly nostalgic for me
@@DavesArchivesI was using this for reality shifting so I can shift to the 80s am I supposed to feel weird while listening to this or feel nostalgic? Please respond
I’m falling asleep.. good night 💤
That North Coast County Subaru commercial took a turn at the end of it lol, but that music on the ad was so smooth. And you never see wool carpet anymore. That was new to me!
Hey dave, im watching this on Xbox 360 hooked up to my 2003 CRT with built in VHS and DVD player, it feels authentic, please do more of this stuff, its great, cheers from California : ]
Nice and relaxing ❤️ thank you! 📼
You're welcome, Kuma :)
Holy-nice VHS emoticon!
For a good laugh try slowing down playback to .25x @14:17 XD
Thanks so much for uploading!
As a San Diegan, I especially appreciated this one....thanks for the childhood memories!
And I’m from San Diego LOL .. this is like my childhood LOL
We literally had the same ones in NY...the people were diff but the commercials identical...furniture stores and RV especially. Kinda disturbing 😱😂
Sweet... some New Mexico stuff... my area. Pretty cool to see local commercials.
Man I miss this decade 😏
I was born in 1984 ... I feel like I’m in my moms womb again ... lol. This is pretty relaxing & makes me want to move to California ( even more).
These set of ads always the best method for sleep especially when I have to go to work soon. ❤️
Great theme compilation😺👍🌟
Thanks, TL!
Wonderful compilation 🌴💤💤💤
Reminded me of being a kid and hearing my parents tv left on all night from the next room .
OMG please tell me the furniture at 3:08 is collecting dust in a warehouse somewhere so I can buy it! I want to furnish my home that way and live in a vaporwave house!
ha! That would be awesome :)
Cool
I love that laquered wood, like the Golden Girls had...would love to get ahold of that stuff!!! Pretty *and* easy to clean😂
It is crazy how they associate to relaxing, at the time they were just regular commercials may mbe because they remind us of our cozy homes
Audio brought to you in wonderful fuzzy SLP tape-speed.
local 80's commericals are so relaxing 👍👍
this is a vaporwave goldmine
1:28 Lol, yeah I bet that didn't go off much or if it did it was when someone was buying a pack of gum.
This is one of the most underrated ASMR compilations ever.Amazing job, keep up the good work;)
Great upload, as usual! 👍🏾
Thanks, 3hooks!
Who knew bad credit commercials could be so "tingly"?
o.0
Can you please do a hr of 90s asmr commercials plse thank u!
fox ktty
have i gotten old? i watched this whole thing and enjoyed it.
Thank you so so much.
I bought my first Sony Walkman in the early 80s at Dow Stereo in San Diego. Its been downhill ever since.
The mattress couple look like the Ropers from Three's Company.
Cal you read the price wrong! $6995!
3:03 & 6:21 fast talking Tom Campbell for Furnishings 2000 and Dow Stereo/Video. We also know his voice from Cal Stereo.
I have no idea how I arrived here. But I love your channel so much. Its like a time travel, entering into another dimension :)
Some local commercials remind me of SNL sketches from the 80s.
Thanks for the upload! Perfect for right before bed! If you don't mind my asking, I found some recorded VHS at a local flea mkt, and I have a working vcr. Is it as simple as plug and play? I saw a converter thing at the store earlier that was a/v one one side and hdmi on the other, do I need that?
You'll need a converter for sure. Here's a great place to start, and good luck! czcams.com/video/T8C9ndmQMQ8/video.html
Beware for whatever reason the "capture card" despite having left and right plugs for audio they will only capture it in mono. I had to capture my audio using the sound card on the computer. My experience only applies to PC windows 10. So a Mac experience might be different.
@@FlugPoP I have a PC Windows 10 also, was going to record through OBS. I'll see if I can tweak the audio. Thanks for the heads up!
@@DavesArchives Thank you so much!
@@Courdorygirl Hi, OBS is what I use and you totally can change the audio capture device. I really wanted to capture the VHS Hi-Fi and was happy I could .Have fun!
Can VOL.2 have commercials from the 90’s?
Take a shot evertime he says Medicare... makes the rest of the video more interesting...
Try “hurt in a car”-see ya in the hospital for alcohol poisoning 😂😂😂
Maybe the best form of ASMR on yt right now 🔥
At 6:28 I don’t think that guy can talk any faster than he already is. It even sounds like he is double talking at times.
The great Tom Campbell. No one delivered a commercial like him. ;)
Looking forward to a 90s version. This is super relaxing
Omg,new subscriber, amazing!!! I luvvvv this!!,👍❤️
Back when I didn't mind ads. They weren't loud and boisterous and didn't ruim whatever you were watching unlike now
5:22 A taxidermied ram was used to sell wool carpets...😳
Please make more of these.
I’m not getting ASMR, because the sounds aren’t soft and gentle. However, being a gen X San Diego native, I find it a fun trip down memory lane
Hey Dave, you know a commercial where a woman is applying for some service and the man behind the desk is giving her a hard time. Asking her to fill out many applications taking her picture front and side views, asking many questions. The commercial ends with the man saying "now show me the bottom of your feet"
I think the commercial was about how some companies give you the third degree to receive their services. I remember watching it mid to late 80's. You know the commercial I'm talking about, what company put it out?
I hope you eventually show some 1980s commercials from late night Chicago TV on here (from CBS Late Night or WGN Late Night Movie, for example)
Love ur vids!
Ha that was werird to see Chick Hearn hocking insurance.
It's too short but I love it
I used to go to the Sycuan gaming center in my hometown of El Cajon to play Indian Bingo and every time I won they made me give the money back. #stayclassysandiego
I get and love asmr but this is just too specific and niche for me lol It doesn’t induce asmr for me but I’m glad it does for others !
Cool and Nice ASMR 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The red Toyota pickup😂 We have a running joke about them bc they last forever and u always see Al Qaeda flying over sand dunes, back part chock full of guys, guns and rocket launchers... and it always looks exactly like this same years model.😂 They literally do hold up forever. Al Qaeda should be their official sponsor😂😂😂(too soon?)
this comment didnt age well #13
Just what I was looking for. Reminds me of the earlier days in my relationship, I would take my girl to a hotel and we would fall asleep to paid programs on the tv 📺
love love love
Funny how all the relaxing and boring commercials aired in my hometown, San Diego.
What is meaning of "ASMR"?
Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's when you have a physical reaction to sound. Like certain sounds making you sleepy, or certain noises or words making you cringe.
@@Courdorygirl I only watched this because it isn't an ASMR video.
Nice 🙂💙
15:25 LOL what is with the walk?
LOL! That's great!
If this is what ads were like now, I wouldn’t even skip em
What is the song called in the introduction to the video?
This isn’t real. I freaking hated the commercials as a kid but heeeere I am…lmao
hi Davie and everyone I like this one I only really like the car one's Cal Worthington had interesting life from growing up dirt poor in the south dropping out of school after third grade and hauling water for the chain gang doing hard labor building roads to make money for his family in the 1920's 30's to being a WW2 B17 pilot he flew a ton of raids over Germany that's when got the flying bug like a lot them did like a lot of the pilot after WW2 he wanted to be come a airline pilot told him no not only did he not have any collage he dropped out after third grade dreams die hard a so after WW2 with very little money he bought a little gas station and then Deeside he didn't want to do that so the sold the station and rented a dirty lot and bought three or four used car's to sell and from there he was on his way to get a bigger use car lot new car lot's and then while all this he started other business he when from dirt poor to being worth nine hundred million dollars oh yah and he always had pilot license to fly his own private jet all the way up to his death he was known to be a real nice down to earth guy he was once asked why he never had OR used bodyguard's he joked it off but my guess is it just wasn't his style he just stayed being a regular guy :-)
the guy in the chair looks dead
Please look up asmr
I don't think you know what ASMR means.
the opposite of asmr, but ok.
