I followed the same racking system setup as how you explained in one of your previous videos. Since I'm cleaning it every week and my biggest doubt is that should the canister be left alone for 6 months ( like Not opened or maintained) ?
Yea it should.. but u need to make sure your water parameters are stable.. any increase in Parameter should be controlled by cleaning the canisters

Hi Bro, I have 4X2x2 Tank and it holds about 360 litres, I am having 19 Koi and Gold fish ( total 19) in medium size, the water is not getting even 50% clean. Just for a week it looks better again the water is not clear. I am using 303A Sun Sun Canister filter. I tried crystal clear solution, no change. I thought it is taking time to create benefial bateria and waited for a month but still the same. Later today once I open the canister till the top trap fish dust was there. Also I added benefial baciteria solution but no use. I thought my single cansister is not capable so I added Internal filter with power head since it is too powerful my fishes cannot swim well. Please help bro. Do I have to add another Canister. Now my current canister flow becomes slow and I am totally stuck.
Bro 4 foot is quite large.. u need to go for 304 and the key is how u arrange the racks and the media .. i have a video of how to setup a canister filter.. follow those steps and all your problem will be solved

you can clean it once in 6 months or year, if your water parameters are stable. if there is any change or increase in ammonia or nitrite or nitrate, then that is where you need to immediately check your canister and clean it. coz some dust or impurities might clog the pores in bio media which might result in good bacteria crash... if everything is fine then no need to touch your canister for at-least 6 months
