I am seriously considering this for the ps5, but concerned that it’s DRAM-less especially since ps5 does not support HMB.

It’s advertised for the ps5 so you should be fine using it for the ps5
@@moustafakurdi2986 I ended up getting the transcend MTE250H. I was able to get the 4tb on sale at a similar price and I don’t have to deal with the DRAM-less bs.
I’m sure the lexar would be good as well. We just don’t know if there will be any issues due to the SSD not having any DRAM.
I just bought this, im going yo install it now, i was worried about the thermal specs required for ps5.

I have buy lexar NM790 2TB, but I have facing some issues, 1st when start my PC then temp is 46°C, when room temperature 20°C, after work max SSD temp 68°C, it's overwhelming,

Fast ssd but mine gets really hot on stress test.. 72°C! In idle and software installation it goes 52°C stable... Is it normal?
My 1T Crytal Disk mark multiple consecutive (4 )tests only read test up to 62 no write test , 10 min another 56C (mainboard b760m ds3h original heat sink)
I have the same SSD but I only get the half of the write and read speed, I got the 550 steel legend mainboard can anyone help pls?
Are you sure the slot you put the drive in is actually gen4 and not gen3?
@@majorgg66 yea I actually solved the problem it was my cpu at that time I had the ryzen 7 5700 G so I change it to the ryzen 7 5800 X which allows pice 4.0 and now I get the full write and read speed 🔥
@@Richard_Wiwanayes, the Ryzen 5700G only supports PCIe 3.0, which explains why your only getting half the performance.
Mine runs idle 50C and under load just under 60C. Is that ok?

@@ronch550 Ok, thanks. It runs very good and is cooled by a M.2 slot with coolblock. So I thought 60 was somewhat high.
What are the temperatures in IDLE and under stress?
Really depends on your setup and what airflow the drive will get, idle you will get around 30-35'c and at load between mid 60s to low 70s. thanks for watching

Depends on what you are comparing it to. The game engines are not updated to take advantage of nvme speeds. Gaming engines are behind the hardware as of now and promised to be via Microsoft direct storage technology but I wouldn't count on that. Reasons to buy an nvme vs an SSD comes to price and the fact that they are the newer tech. When it comes to gaming nvme and ssds are basically the same in load times. But an nvme will definitely an SSD when it comes to transfer rate. There is no reason to buy an SSD when nvmes are the same price and transfer data faster.
