- THE FIRST FULL LOOK AT OUR FIRST HOME THAT WE PURCHASED ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO.
I spent nearly 2 years not going out and just saving everything I had and we both scraped our savings together to buy this home, we landscaped both the front and back gardens, rennovated the kitchen and bathroom, skimmed the ceilings in every room to remove the artex ceilings throughout the whole house and fitted spotlights throughout, We completely re-carpeted and painted to create the best space we could on the budget we had at the time and it is by far one of our biggest achievements.
I am so glad that we bought when we did as it brought us closer together whilst also proving an amazing investment.
But now we are getting ready for the next chapter.

I used to live in a very small, like really small, apartment over a garage. I used to call it my tree house. Now I live in a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house that isn’t palatial, but you could fit 5 of my tree house apartments in my current home. I loved my first place, nearly as much as where I’m at now. It’s love that makes a house a home, and you seem to have boat loads of that in your small, but beautifully elegant home, made with love. ♥️

I used to live in a house pretty much the same size as this and I had a little girl too. When I fell pregnant with my son we started to look at other places as it was just too cramped, now I can't imagine living in anything smaller. My fiance's sister lives in our first house now and it's nice to go back and remember the memories :) onwards and upwards Lydia. Im sure your new home will be just as beautiful as this one, if not more x
I think you managed to make a real home out of this house and it reflects you which is lovely. It was nice seeing you like this and listening to some background of the things that matter to you like the old mirror in the hallway and the bed from your grandma. You are very real and honest and I love it. Also Lynx was a star of the show in this video, he had to be in every shot 😂 cutie :D

Hey Lydia, I saw your insta story and I'm usually a passive viewer, I really like your content and I rarely post or comment anything but I want to express my support. May I also suggest that people not reply or argue on negative comments even though one may feel compelled sometimes. It only feeds the thread and the nasty comment appears on top every time anyone looks through the comment section. It's far better to leave a separate comment than answer back to a hateful one.

I agree with you Lydia, the bedroom is not for clothing. I don't care how big the bedroom is, I want the room to zen me out and clears my mind and be completely zen. I want my clothing in another room.

It is really a lovely little house. I love to see people not spreading themselves beyond their means, and also seeing they've taken excellent care of what they've got! Just makes me that much more excited when they are in a good place to step up to a bigger house, because they deserve it and it obviously won't be wasted or trashed! Good on you. It is so interesting so compare homes here in the US with homes in the UK. Love the subway tile in the kitchen. You've done a wonderful job. Everyone should start out in a smaller home so they can learn how to maintain a home and develop their style on a small scale before moving on to a larger home. I also love that you have such wide window sills. Great for potted plants such as herbs in the kitchen. I have a rosemary and a bay leaf plant in my kitchen. Sometimes I throw them in a pot of water on the cook top and simmer just for the great smell. Almost like a Sunday roast without the calories.

That house brought back lovely memories for me,it's the same as our first house,a little mews house. Believe it or not we fitted our first baby in the house! As well as 2 Siamese cats!! My husband died suddenly last May, only youngish, but you reminded me of how excited we were, especially painting the house white......u never forget your first house 😊😍. xx
