I guess that's the other reason I love it so much. :) Please tell me you'll make another video like this for the rest of season 1 and season 2. I absolutely loved this. It was hilarious. Great work! Best wishes and God bless you!!!
Honestly I low-key feel like the filler in Code Geass is underrated. I can see why people hate it though, it's a huge tone shift from the rest of the show, the side characters were just plain annoying more often than not, it feels like the story stops moving forward for no reason (I disagree with the "no reason" but we'll get into that later), and the execution of many episodes was _questionable_ to say the least. But personally I still enjoyed it overall. The tone shift helped to offer a breather from the intensity of the rest of the show, and honestly I found a lot of it entertaining just from how dumb it was. In my opinion it also in some ways helped to give an additional perspective on Lelouch as a character. In most of the show his theatrics seem baddass as he finds ingenious ways to control the battlefield and weasel his way out of tricky situations, and this is how I imagine Lelouch sees himself. But when put into the context of something as small and stupid as chasing a cat, his prideful, larger than life personality starts to look a lot more goofy, a lot less clever, and just less glamerous overall. This is how I imagine the rest of the world sees him, and this divide between how others see him and how he sees himself helps to humanise Lelouch. It also helps to reinforce the reoccuring theme in his arc of Lelouch viewing the world as a chess board, where all the peices can be known and controlled, only for him to get smacked in the face with the reality that the world isn't like that and he barely has control over anything. And arguably the most important aspect of the filler (in season 1 at least) was the stakes (as silly as that might sound). The action and strategies in the show definitely can offer a lot of tension, but ultimately on their own what they can do is limited. The reality is that Lelouch just isn't going to die in some random battle early on. He might suffer setbacks, but at the end of the day Lelouch will probably win just by virtue of the fact that this is his story. As a result, the stakes of the show are usually so high that they don't provide much tension. Or at least this would be the case without the filler. Because what's at risk in season 1 isn't really failure, it's this dumb, annoying, but relatively carefree school-life which offers Lelouch the only real happiness he's had since his mother's death. And what makes this work is that the show makes it abunently clear from the start (to me at least) that this cannot last. As a result almost the entire 1st season (especially the filler) has a subtle feeling of dread as you know that at some point, in some way, Lelouch is going to loose his relationships with the only real friends he has, and some of them (*cough cough* Susaku) are almost guarunteed to end up becoming sworn enemies. You know it's going to happen, you just don't know when or how. I want to make it clear though that I'm not trying to argue that the filler in Code Geass is some kind of cinematic masterpiece, because it's really not. The fact of the matter is that it seriously hurt a lot of people's enjoyment of the show, and that is a definite flaw which should not be overlooked. I'm not trying to persuade anyone into liking it either, the reality is that if you didn't like the filler to begin with then there's no way a youtube comment is going to change that. I just wanted to offer an alternitive perspective on the filler that I personally haven't seen anywhere else.

Lelouch: oh nooooo…
I still love this anime to death, my favorite anime ever lmao
Same
"im not going to deceive you over a pizza" is probably one of my favorite lines in the show
This was hillarious ngl😂😂😂😂😂
Lol glad you liked it :)
he also lied to nunnally when they were walking past a field of bodies and he said it was just a garbage dump. though that was in the past so maybe it doesnt count
Dude! That should not count, and you know why.
@@isapu1948 to be fair its a pretty understandable lie lol
2:53 that’s the most emotion I’ve ever felt in him and it wasn’t even a life-death situation, must be ‘cause he generally has balls of titanium in life-death situations.
He has time to harden his will
He was the exact *opposite* of “hardened his heart”
NOT THE NUNNALLY LIE COUNTER 💀
YES THE NUNALLY LIE COUNTER!
"I have a school festival and a coup de'tat to run." IM DEAD I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW.
5:42 Todo and Suzaku having fight while he legit stands there an do a dramatic monologue
so funny how he tells Nunnally little lies all the time but when it comes to something actually important Lelouch freaks out over it😭😭
This reminds me of the masterpiece CODEMENT.
IM AT THE SOUP STORE
@@thefourthdymensionmusic WHY ARE YOU BUYING CLOTHES AT THE SOUP STORE?!
As smart as Lelouch is, he's kinda dumb and/or on dangerously thin ice half the time
The show only truly knows/takes advantage of this 80% of the time
I mean, it's kinda realistic because this dude is actually a 17 year old teenager. And his first major plan is to overthrow the world's government. It's almost shocking when you think of it
Thr abridged takes great advantage of it though.
High INT, high CHA, low WIS
Honestly, it makes him a lot more likeable and charismatic than a plain "I'm God and my plans never fail" kinda character
@@MarioGuadalupe yeah wish more smart characters have minor screw ups and they have to fix it
bro i used to defend this silly little dude's lies on anime forums when i was like 10 omg(TEN YEARS AGOJSJDJDJ)..... i love lelouch and code geass glad the fandom's still alive
5:27 I lost it with the emoji omg
My favourite part of Code Geass is that Nunally could tell that a cat was injured by hearing it's footsteps but couldn't recognize her brother with a slightly deeper voice
i love code geass so much especially when lelouch makes a stupid decision
"I'm racking up reward points." I stg yall that killed me 😂
he actually was though. that's how cc got the plushie in season 2
"All our problems are nearly solved. Now as long as I don't accidentally insight a genocide in the most contrived way possible, we're in the clear..."
-Lelouch, probably
Love seeing this man just rewatching C.C be a idiot makes my day
"I don't believe you because you're a liar."
It's official, CC is the smartest character in Code Geass.
You really should do a part 2 for the second season. Also that one scene where he sneaks the Black Knights onto a train in the R3 movie.
That shot of C2 looking heartbroken while Lelouch loses his shit always gets me.
As a wise big headed blue man once said
The difference between a Villain, and a *Supervillain*
Is presentation
Lelouch gets it to the max a True Supervillain
But ngl these dramatic lines actually made him feel a lot more human.
Normally when the animes jus show the cold mcs and all, they forget to include there's a dramatic side to all of us
I like that for as smart as he is, he does fumble and make simple mistakes. It wouldnt be interesting if every single thing he did was perfect. It feels like hes barely keeping his cover in season 1. Like believably 17. Im so happy at the stuff I can do with this power
"ah, what indeed" The best line of the entire series. Bank robberies, random brawls, drugs, being a democrat, you name it, works every time.
Lelouch's bromance with Suzaku is basically one of the best things about the show.
1:29
Lies to nunally for the entire series
Eats only 1 needle
What a scam
To the heart tho
To be fair, it was one big ass needle
4:43 well in his defense he knew kirihara taizou, the man who originally lied about Prime Minister Kururugi's murder. Even Suzaku knew Zero was well connected, so there was no reason to suspect lelouch.
"Excuse me...what are you doing?"
_"uhh...what indeed..."_
So much "good question" energy and I love it 😂
I quote that "uhh... what indeed..." way too often
The fact that you didn't even need to use R2
this is why i love him lmao
Everything in here is so funny 😂
Lelouch my beloved, he's not like other boys.
3:26 "she said the thing" lmaoooo
Lelouch is the biggest drama queen in anime, can't even argue lmao
"excuse me what are you doing"
"ha what indeed"
2:50 *I have, several questions*
I like how this either implies that, 1. He just has his costume lying somewhere for the cat to find, (probably hung on a chair) or
2. The cat somehow managed to nevertheless get to it
Lelouch had put the costume in a suitcase but hadn't put the helmet where the cat couldn't get to it, leading to the cat fiasco.
@@guardiansoulblade2673 that makes alot of sense
@@takebacktheholyland9306
He was in the middle of finding a suitable place for it when he got interrupted by Nunnally.
Also, the cat snuck past CC
Who needs the government to chase down Zero when you have *C A T*
I have four cats.
It’s DEFINITELY the second option
still like Lelouch when he laugh so bruntaly 🤣
Lelouch: "I'm dropping hints that i want the overthrow the empire"
Lelouch: I'll overthrow the empire
Nobody:
Geass Plot:
Rather than eat 1000 needles, Lelouch chose to eat a single, very large needle.
2:53 - I will never get enough of this girly sound Lelouch makes here!
I watched this show like three weeks ago thinking "oh yeah this is fine" until the end it absolutely broke me GOD WHY DOES EVERY CHARACTER I LIKE HAVE TO GET NUKED 😭😭
never noticed the wink omg
This honestly had me laughing so hard. XD Code Geass is my favorite anime of all time, but I cannot deny how ridiculous it can be sometimes. XD lol. I guess that's the other reason I love it so much. :) Please tell me you'll make another video like this for the rest of season 1 and season 2. I absolutely loved this. It was hilarious. Great work! Best wishes and God bless you!!!
LMAO This video made me remember beautiful memories with Code Geass and our super hero Lelouch . thanQ for making this video !!
CC is like I will expose you casually every minute
The captions are top-tier on this. For example, "*Lelouch making up some BS about what he meant by bringing up Shinjuku*" at 1:08.
I love code geass so much it’s my favourite anime I am so happy the code geass fandom is still alive
Yesss I;ve been looking for some lelouch compilations
Also no pressure but it would be cool to see a zero being theatrical compilation
The dub, the cuts, the edits make this sound more like an abridged.
4:12 damn i really never noticed that suzaku winked and was trying to be a wingman
This show is the perfect blend of melodrama, goofiness and genuinely awesome story
Man's "stupidly smart" on a whole other level
4:39 as far as Suzaku knows Mao is still alive. So to him it would appear as either Mao told Zero or Zero got it from whoever told Mao.
I mean, I'm not denying that since he wasn't exactly in the right state of mind, but he was like 15-30 meters away when mao got shot in the head.. kinda hard to not hear a gunshot from that close.
Unless I'm misremembering

I find it odd that there's only seven minutes of moments like these.

@@BlueBlazeKing
Okay. But even still, about an episode's worth of these moments is still nowhere near how much I expected things.
I mean if OP really wanted put every dramatic moment of Lelouch you might as well just upload the whole show at that point.
