Ep 354 | An Old Pearl Processing Plant and Humongous Oysters! Kimberley, Sailing Nutshell

- We head towards the Sale River in the hope of checking it out in Peanut. But, the tides our not in our favour and bad weather is coming so we decide to abort.
We move around quite a bit and end up spending the night at Raft Point.
Then, we head off north and check out Langii Gorge at low tide. We have visited this place before and taken Peanut down the beautiful little gorge, but this time we wanted to see the rock formations at low tide. We preferred the high tide version.
We continue north and into Sampson Inlet which is a beautiful protected anchorage.
Then, another move to Augustus Island with its interesting history of an old pearl processing plant.
We gather on the beach for a beach bbq with new-found friends and enjoy oysters and a delicious cod.
Thanks for watching.
Until next time…
Wendy and Magnus

G’day Magnus and Wendy,
I’m so pleased you meet up with James, Halle and Isla from Salty Jocks. ⛵️⛵️ Fabulous!
It was lovely to get a chance to meet lovely new people. The Kimberley area can be very lonely. W.
So glad I don’t have to the anchor watch any more, you’re in sight cheers missed your updates.
Yup! Back in sight now. W.
More magic moments....thanks guys.
Sort of curious how most living things grow so well in the Kimberley, but has been awhile since we have seen what ever grows on Nutshell's hull having been meandering in paradise..
Is no way I'd slip into them waters for a gander...lol
We definitely don’t slip into the water! W.
👍
Thank you. W.
great stuff!
Thank you. W.
Still curious to know why aboriginal people seem absent in the coastal areas despite the cave art you find. Yet further north the Indonesian islands you visited teem with people.
did you look for pearls? haha
Always! W.
