This is one of his hardest songs to date. I've listened since before KIDS. Keeps improving. Much Depth, in most songs, much wow. If you dont feel him you probably haven't had enough life experiences.

For people that don't understand this song is about how the public watches their idols and their crazy lifestyle like it is a movie. People do that for his life too so he spends the whole song describing what his life is like(getting blown while smoking weed with bitches all around him). When he said "now you watching movies" he's saying that you are becoming a part of the stereotype by watching his lifestyle as it is a movie.
Uh... you have a base level of understanding things but yeah I guess you can interpret the song like that. The "people worship these idols til they come in contact with Gods" is a reference to Baal in the bible.
Mac was a true fucking G. This was my favorite video he ever did. I played this over and over when it came out, memorized every word. The flow, the bars, the theme, the lighting, everything was perfect. This song represented a turning point in his career as he embraced his own style and stopped trying to please everyone else (casual fans/label/management). He embraced his style fully for the first time and every song he made after this was very different from his early work. I've been following him on Instagram for years, he really was doing drugs and living a rockstar life, but at the same time he spent time with his family and friends. Unique talent, he will be forever remembered as a legend in Pittsburgh.

I'm 31 but I rapped and toured the southeast in the late 2000s doing shows, was hooked on perks, roxys and tabs for 15 years, and chased everything unhealthy that so many of us are programmed to believe are levels of fame and success that needed to be reached. Im not comparing myself to this once in a generation soul or talent by any means, but our journeys were so similar at the same time. My child is the only thing that began to pull me out of it. Watching this video is so nostalgic but I can't shake the underlying feeling of guilt and sadness that comes with knowing where I was and my outlook on life and spirituality when this dropped.

From kids to the divine feminine (I don’t wanna include swimming bc I kinda slept on that album I had only listened to self care and ladders up until he passed) even tho I like he early projects and latest projects, but 2013-2015 were my favorite Mac Miller years WMWTSO great album, Faces top 5 mixtapes of all time to me, GOOD:AM underrated album. Those 3 projects proved Mac Miller was a lyrical genius with a dope ass flow. REST IN PEACE TO THE RAP DIABLO, ALWAYS MACHO WHEN HE DROPPED FLOWS.
