Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition and global dance network, connecting students, teachers, schools, dance companies, and audiences worldwide. She killed those variations! Great technique, and the choreography for Esmerelda, she didn't just jete she FLEW. With a prop too, and the costume was gorgeous. Brava Maya. Brava!

i never did ballet and im not super knowledgeable but i nanny for someone who does ballet, and LOVE watching it on social media. To my amateur eye, Maya is my favourite. she is enchanting and technically so impressive even to my even untrained eye. I am very good judging women artistic gymnastic- and while they are so different, they share a couple of the same components; unique artistic flare to highly technical elements while making it look easy- making something that we know is extremely hard look effortless. and i believe maya does this spectacularly. its even more impressive knowing she was 12 when she started ballet. just insanity!

Melanie McIntire was not among the Prix de Lausanne prize winners, Maya Schonbrun indeed was however, in 2022. She received an apprenticeship prize.

She recently was! If you go to eva nys channel she posts a bunch of stuff about maya and the other dancers from the academy ☺️
She is an incredible dancer, but I think she picks very feisty variations like Esmeralda and Black Swan, but she is more soft-tempered. However, she is amazing, no matter which variation she chooses.
More work on the arms and head. More elegance and expressiveness. More dash in the vivacious ballets. She must dance with Spirit, not just execute the steps.
It's a shame ballet in the U.S has lost its meaning
