    Thank you for your excellent review. I am a camera novice and appreciate your great advice. I got the a6600 and actually preached the sermon this week with it but my mic didn't work and had to redo it again with my smartphone camera, but the problem was with the mic and not the camera. Thanks again, look forward to your wonderful videos. Your a breath of fresh air.

    Amazing review. I have watched hours and hours of video on this camera while researching and considering purchase. Yours was the ONLY one regarding image quality and real time usage regarding photography. Bravo. Beautiful presentation. Incredibly informative. Found this video by accident. Should have been the first one I saw. I bought it as my “B” camera. I value your opinion. Your presentation is incredible. Looking forward to more videos. Subscribed immediately. Count me as a fan. Thank you.

    It's fun to take the more entry level cameras out for a spin sometimes. I pulled my D3400 out of the closet this weekend and had a bit of fun with it. It was kind of nice to just shoot with no frills and a more simplistic approach and honestly I was more impressed with how well the camera worked after I'd been shooting with my 7000 series for so long.
    I kind of wish I had waited and got the 6100, but I picked up an A6000 last year for a secondary camera and I absolutely love it. Both the 16-50 and 55-210 kit lenses are impressive and I get really sharp images even out at 200mm with the kit, where as both of my NIkkor zooms that go to 300mm struggle to get any kind of clarity at 300mm. Oddly enough it's become my bird camera now, paired with an old 400mm Tokina prime f-mount and the Nikon to Sony lens adapter. My biggest issue now is that I love my SONY so much that instead of upgrading to a D500 I'm half considering spending that money on their 70-350 lens.

    If you can suggest two of the reasonable priced lenses from Sony or third party manufacturers to go along with a6100, that will be more helpful. Thank you once again for this bideo.

    I loved your review, so honest and indepth. I appreciate the fact you showed the animal photos you shot, I'm a retired woman who enjoys taking wildlife photos while I'm out fly fishing! I was originally seriously considering the A6000 but the fact it's 6 years old is a bit of a turn off for me. Which is what led me to this video. I would be taking mainly stills as I also use a couple of gopros for my fishing so the lack of in body stabilization isn't really a concern. However this camera seems to take me to a happier place with it's features and age as to compared to the A6000. All that at still an acceptable price point. Thanks for helping in that process! :)

    Ive owned the Sony A5100 with 16-50mm kit lens for about 4 years. Over the holidays I researched the A6000, A6100, A6300, A6400, A6500 and A6600 range along with the Sony APSC E mount lenses. I've ended up purchasing three items used on Ebay - A6000 body, 18-105mm Zoom and the 35mm Macro lens. I really like the controls on the A6000, the viewfinder and the grip that is larger than that on the A5100.

    • @stephenbaxter3369
      @stephenbaxter3369 Před 6 měsíci

      I sold all three of these items to a camera dealer and purchased a new A6100 that is arriving tomorrow. I considered the A6400 but it has quite a few capabilities that I just do not need. I still have my A5100 as it is such a great camera that takes the same lenses and it's a bit more compact than the A6100.

    • @johnmakphotography
      @johnmakphotography Před 4 lety +1

      When you want to compare bodies, you must also consider comparing lenses. Sony has way more lenses for the APS-C cameras than the Nikon Z50. Another advantage for the Sony is that you can buy Full Frame (EF) lenses and use them on both APS-C and FF Sony bodies (if you ever want to upgrade to a FF Sony camera). There are also excellent choices from Sigma, Tamron, Samyang and Rokinon lenses for the Sony E-Mount. You can also adapt manual vintage lenses that cost $30-$50 used and have awesome image quality, while some produce incredible bokeh. Lenses are more important for image quality. That's my opinion.

    Oh, this has been JUST what I needed!
    So, I was already pretty much thinking I’d end-up with a Sony anyway - but now, here’s what I’m left thinking:
    - I was wrong in assuming the model numbers were sequential; it was valuable for me to know that 6100 and 6600 are concurrent.
    - I figure if I go with “any number that’s sixty-one or higher, will be just-FINE”. I can balance the budget along with GLASS.
    Hey: what might be some real dream lens, normal-ish, that’d be be dreamy on this body? One of the Zeiss? G-Master, I suppose, eh?
    How’bout one of those teeny-little pancakes? I can’t imagine they’re downright bad, optically - and the portability’s wonderful.

    Question from a newbie: I want to create bird videos in my backyard similar to this CZcams video: ( czcams.com/video/xbs7FT7dXYc/video.html ). I was going to buy a Sony A7Siii and a Sony 200-6000 lens but then I started reading about the Sony 6000 series which is much cheaper which I like. I started to think maybe I don't need such a fancy camera since I am going to take bird videos with a stationary camera on a tripod. I like the fact that the 6100 is less than $900 and the 6600 is currently on sale at $1,198.00 but I am concerned I will loose the ability to shoot at dawn and dusk with the 6100 or 6600 and I will high quality slow motion. Which camera and lens combo would you suggest for creating bird videos like the one I linked ? Will overheating be an issue with the 6100 and 6600 cameras during long shooting sessions compared to the A7Siii ? Thank you very much.

      @@LeighAndRaymond Thanks for the reply as I imagine you are very busy by the standard of your work - love some of your 'shots'. I've been into photography since I was bought a Kodak Brownie 127 when I was 8yrs old. From the state of that Nikon lens, I have to disagree with the words ' I'm just careful' 😂😂😂. I am really enjoying your CZcams videos. In 35mm film I had a Contax 159MM (I still have it) because I read the Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.7 Planar T* Lens was the best lens ever tested. so I couldn't blame my tools ;-) But I bought two Yashicas to go with it as three Contax 159MM would have been too expensive. Thanks again for the reply

    Great shots, completely destroyed by too much bokeh. This amount of background blurriness is completely unnatural. Human vision does not work this way. There is no benefit in blurring the background to oblivion. In most situations you can get pleasant and natural bokeh by trying to reduce it as much as possible! That is also why I prefer these smaller APS-C sensors.

      That's a pretty serious list! Do you want better everything from Sony in general, or just the a6100?

      You could certainly use a gimbal - there are some great ones out there.

    1st comment, #stayhome #staysafe, Sony always doing same, if you have 6000 no need change for a few new things, every 6 months new cameras, its bullshit. sony have to change mind.

    You are literally the only person I ever hear constantly refer to Sony cameras as Alpha whatever, everyone else just says A whatever, that's so weird. LOL

      Yes, somewhere along the way, a lot of folks started to say A instead of Alpha. I'm not sure why. I think they're both acceptable at this point.
