You should watch it again with the English subtitles to see the meaning of the song ... and her commentary at the end about how she put her emotions fully into it. I couldn't help but get a bit misty-eyed, too.
It's too late and pretty useless for that.
@@drifoy How is it useless? Hearing the song is one thing but understanding what's behind it is a whole other experience. What kind of 5th grade mentality do you have?
@@kevin17695 this gal just reacted to the full video and she noticed that she resonated with her greatly with the story she told etc. czcams.com/video/G0iCjwXBE5c/video.html
I cried at the end, but I'm a highly sensitive person.
@@kevin17695 agreed. I always look up the English translations of Japanese songs. I like to know the meaning behind it.
LiSA is just as clean in a live band setting in front of thousands of people.
If you thought LiSA's performance alone in this song made you feel emotional, watch her sing it again but with the subtitled English translation. Impossible to not get misty-eyed from it. Very beautiful song about overcoming pain and loss, and the resolve to keep running toward a brighter future.
I don't know how to tell you this, but she's a professional singer long before her song use as an anime ost. So she wasn't an "anime singer" and definitely not an amateur
i mean her big breakout was with angel beats almost 13 years ago.
@@Leon-yg5gm still doesnt make her an anime-singer. that would imply she only sings those songs, which she dont..
Nah think her big breakout was with Sword art online
A little disappointed you didn't watch it with subtitles.
Lisa got emotional while singing this song because this song is about overcoming grieve. She was reminded about her own painful experience while singing this.
And she's not young singer. She already in her 30s and been singing more than 10 years.
I'm so glad that you reacted to this one. As suggested, there are english captions and as you said that song means a lot to her. But even without them the emotion and feelings are really conveid through that performance. If you have the time, The first take is a gold mine of great vocal and musical performances.
It would be really good to see your reaction to Gurenge by LiSA on the same channel. Its a very different song but demonstrates even more of her amazing voice.
she is not anime singer; she is a regular singer, a pop rock star.
The First Take is an awesome channel featuring many amazing Japanese artists singing their songs in one take. They do it with little preparation and minimal accompaniment.
You need to watch this with subtitles and without pausing and the whole thing with her emotional reaction at the end...Utter masterpiece! Amazing vocalis..

Why not turn on English subtitles?
Hello :) You are so sweet and i think you have a very good heart.
I recommend you a Turkish singer who sings in english. His Name is, Cem Adrian, the Song Name is Summer Time.
Nobody can do this same performance, he is a real artist. Please check it up is you want. It would be great :)
First Take always have english subtitles so u can turn them on to understand the lyrics.
Thanks from Japan æéŁăđăLiSA looks sad and emotional in this song. If you see - LiSA x Uru Saikai, you will find LiSA's cheerful and bright side in collaboration with another excellent female singer, Uru. You can find it in the same channel "The First Take".
Finally you reacted to LiSA !!!!! Love it !!!
I love her so much. I found her through the series angel beats and was hooked.
I would really love to see you react to "Zankyosanka" by "Aimer" also on the "The First Take" channel.
She is basically the antithesis to LiSAs emotion driven singing. Aimer is very reserved, extremely precise and accurate. With LiSA you get the feeling that the song changes a bit every time she sings it, based on her emotional state. Aimer gives off the feelting that the song will sound exactly the same every time she performs it.
She has a rather introverted way of singing and one of the most unique and recognizable voices in J-Pop.
Both of them are in my opinion two of the very best singers in the J-Pop space.
I love how people are starting to understand the brilliance of Japanese music
I just can't whatch this performance without crying like a baby
Set Your Heart Ablaze
the human moment that you say at the end of the song its to make it more vulnerable to get you feel the emotion
Almost right before Lisa did music for Demon Slayer, she was about to retire. The Japanese are all about perfection, and she had one little voice mess-up and was booed by assholes off stage. She was so upset and felt she should retire anyway. Then we're blessed with her lovely voice for the Demon Slayer series. Lisa is amazing and I'm so glad she kept going!
I just had to enter in my account to answer this comment. Like, what????? When this "theory" was created? Lmaooooo I've been following LiSA since 2015 and she was on fire, more and more, each year. Her single "ADAMAS" before Gurenge just got platinum. She wasnt about to "retire".
What are you talking about?? Hahahah
FINALLY YOU ARE REACTING TO LiSA !!!
At first She seemed a little nervous. But later she showed a great voice and a nice song. Great discovery Beth ! for us who didn t know her
Muchas gracias por los subtĂtulos en español, me encantĂł tu reacciĂłn y tu opiniĂłn.
YES! YES! YES!
You can make an analysis of the music of a Brazilian singer called Guilherme de SĂĄ, specifically "Deo Vero" and "Lonely" there he has an incredible vocal technique it is interesting how he makes a roller coaster of tones
You should check out the first take of TK doing unravel, he does an amazing job on a difficult song
thank you again Beth ! you Always bring joy or beauties to my days. !! you would do the happiest guy out of me, reacting to "Emji "Crazy in Love" Ă l'Olympia"
What everyone else said. Lyrics are really powerful as well.
I would love to see your reaction and vocal analysis of Tamino. So It Goes live at the Olympia is such a powerful performance. Or for something stripped back and raw there's Habibi.
Love your channel and insights!
#1 singer in the world and you canât change my mind
It's the ending song for the Demon Slayer Mugen Train Arc movie anime
And it has subtitles in english :)
I honestly surprised this song was first and not Gurenge from the same channel. LiSA is always amazing it's just that usually reactors listen to Gurenge first. I'm glad you're listening to some more Japanese music and hope you do more of it soon!
This is a better song tho. Just a shame that she didn't watch it with subtitles. Why the hell wouldn't she do that when she don't understand the language? And she even asks us to tell her what it was about in the end. I don't think she's too bright, to be honest.
@@nuanceblacksywin4868 ...You insult her intelligence because she...didn't turn on subtitles? alright then...
@@nuanceblacksywin4868 bro need to chill
Lisa's performance of Gurenge is prob her number one song, featured in the anime Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba). It got so popular that it was the number one song in Japan for a good while.
LiSA also is well known for her songs in other anime, such as Angel Beats!, another tear-jerker anime, which helped propel her fame.
She's so pretty
This is a powerful and sad song that's why it's tense and there's a lot of emotion
this song means much more to the person it was dedicated to in the anime demon slayer - Sengoku.
Nice to see you listening to LiSA. Could you also take a listen to Gurenge. Every time i hear that song i feel out of breath even though she is the one doing all the singing đ Also would love if you could take a listen to stuff from the band Steelheart đ
Lisa is my absolute favorite Japanese singer and one of the main reasons I've been learning Japanese. She's a total pro and her songs are so tight, her live concerts look dynamite, I'd give both kidneys to go see one. Lol
The power and human emotion she pours out is just incredible and, Beth, if you find a live version of Rising Hope or Rock Mode on CZcams it's worth the watch just to see her energy because she's not an auto tune type "singer" who stands around or can only dance but not sing, she's all over the stage and smiling and running around and still sounds perfect.
10000% recomment checking out Ado. One of my absolute favourites from her is Rasen shes insanely unique and im sure you would enjoy her
I couldn't understand the words but I feel the emotion and passion.
You should see the movie this song is about. Demon slayer Mugen train
Glad that you mentioned the breaths. LiSA has a tendency to even leave them in the studio version of her songs. Theyâre another tool she uses deliberately to enhance a song.
if you watch the demon slayer movie this song will make you cry
Rengoku will be rememberd
I really would love to watch a react of the song âNeeâ by Fujita Maiko.
Me tooo. Love Fujita!
Please do the first take for "Gurenge" by her. It's so good
shes crazyyy
Queen bee is the best live first take!!!! please listen this artist, her performance is amazing
I cried like a little beach â±ïž
She got you Beth am I right? Now that you started with Lisa, I can't but suggest you to listen, (also from "the first take") to her singing sister Eir Aoi's "IGNITE", you'll definitely like it. And If you feel like it, you can also try Scandal's "Shoujo S" (the Perfect World tour live version).
The final climactic chorus where she flipped up into her head voice, I think she did because the lyrics went from an open âahâ both to a more closed âuhâ vowel, so she couldnât keep belting in her mix.
If you want to hear some amazing vocals
Praise you by Hannah Grace (piano version)
Easily one of the best!
Hello!! I'm brasilian and i would like to see you reacting to ANNA MAZ CANTANDO WUTHERING HEIGHTS NO CANTA COMIGO. It's a musical program final and Anna Maz was the champion! Enjoy!!
LiSA made the FT channel go viral with Gurenge (goo-ren-gehy), which is a great rendition but there are so many examples of excellent vocal talent on that channel. Would highly recommend Kataomoi by Aimer on the same channel. For something really fun, I would also check out Naimononedari by Kana-Boon, which features the Kana-Boon vocalist and the vocalist from another band singing the part of someone else in an argument.
Lisa is great...she sings some of the greatest anime openings of all time hands down...love her
i think you are a really professional vocal coach.

Japanese pop ( J-Pop ) ~~ " LiSA"
Lisa was really emotional on this one she was on the verge of tears throughout the song because how relatable it is. You should check out Gurenge and with the cc this time
This hits different after watching the demon slayer movie
LiSA is the best!
I just figured where I know where I've heard her voice from kakegurl đź like the intro song đ
I think you'd get a kick out of either of these videos, which are the same band doing the same songs in two very different live, nowhere-to-hide settings.
San Fermin - NPR Tiny Desk
czcams.com/video/2K9gjhbT7xs/video.html
The vocalists here are Rae Cassidy, Allen Tate and Eliza Bagg (w/ violin).
In the first song ("Oh Darling") Tate seems to be a baritone forcing a Sam Elliott bass voice, then in the second his backing vocal is falsetto. Meanwhile Cassidy covers an impressive spectrum of tones herself, particularly in the second song ("Sonsick"). The faces she makes at the end of each song -- like she can't believe what they just did -- may be the cutest non-kitten-related things I've ever seen online. đ
San Fermin - A Take Away Show

Toys instruments on a French street corner? Why not.
Supporting vocalist/violinist here is Rebekah Durham instead of Eliza Bagg.
Okay, the Asian grandmother watching Cassidy sing "Oh Darling" -- THAT's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
You look very healthy, and all together well. Nice song, performance was very tasteful.
I hope you will add MISIA from The First Take channel to your list.
I recommend the song "Higher Love."
She is a Japanese diva with a 5 octave voice and is very popular in Asiađ.
In recent years, she is one of the most popular singers in Japan, singing for the last time every year on the national broadcaster NHK's New Year's Eve singing program.
You should check out Kaz Hawkins and Her Band O' Men - Because You Love Me, great music great singer
press the cc button and watch it full ;)
Please do Frenzal Rhomb Knuckleheads. Silly lyrics but the best melody
you should turn the caption on for the first take video ;)
I don't understand how some people can watch videos in foreign languages and don't even bother to search for subtitles first thing.
Ok. Now Iâm contractually obligated to ask you to react to unravel on that same channel
I'm dying to see your reaction to Marine's treasure box
I hadn't heard this track from her before. This may take over from Shirushi as my favourite of hers. đ„°
yeah Shirushi is one of the best
All "The First Take" videos have English Subtitles o3o
"Lisa starts speaking in Japanese"
NAAAHHHH YA THINK?? đ đ đ
you're in the way!
you should react to gene shinozaki. theyre a beatboxer with some crazy vocal techniques. i reccomend wachting "methamorphesis"
React to Yaosobi, Ikura has an amazing voice
If you think LiSA is impressive, you should definitely try Kajiura Yuki, she is a soundtrack composer/pianist; she sings a little sometimes, but who does the vocal heavy work are her insanely talented vocalists, it's usually 4 of them singing togehter onstage, sometimes 5 with special guests. She has a full rock band+violinist. She has a ton of exceptional things, so to keep it brief, her project FictionJunction is incredible - I can 100% guarantee you've never listened to anything like it; anything from their 2008 live will show what they can do and their _INSANE_ singing emotion and hamonization skills - some of my personal favorite songs from that live as suggestions are definitely "Fake Wings/Ensei/Mezame", "Houseki", "A Song of Storm and Fire", "Liminality", "The World", "In The Land of Twilight Under the Moon". Fun fact: LiSA actually worked with Kajiura Yuki, for the Demon Slayer soundtrack.
Check out unravel on first take

i don't understand that you havn't featured yet two of the best female voices of our time, anna von hausswolff and susanne sundfor. they are both pure bliss
anna von hausswolff, stranger live, the mysterious vanishing of electra music video, they hoped for a name or how many more of these, both for the royal swedish opera
susanne sundfor: when album version, the brothel live at cigalle, or when the lord
Anna is incredible! Her performance of 'Come Wander' at the Montreux jazz festival blew me away!!
@@liacarrington6094 indeed, she really is! check out her songs performed for the royal swedish opera, or the songs she has performed for the nobel peace dinner.
i reccommend her again and again and again, but nothing happensđ
these japanese voices remember me of the good animes intros/outros đ â
My first thought was: This sounds like an anime opening.đ
HOW DO YOU NOT WATCH TBIS WITH SUBS
I absolutely love Lisa. Probably my second favourite Japanese performer after BABYMETAL lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto.
You have got to listen to Gurenge! It's sang by her and same thing. First take!
You should check out one of her other popular songs LiSA Gurenge on the first take czcams.com/video/MpYy6wwqxoo/video.html
"Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche.

Please react also to Gurenge, also form LiSA

I'm looking for Turkish vocal reactions on the channel, if you want, I can make suggestions.
También deberia reaccionar a la cantante Minami aunque no tiene videos en vivo o de este tipo
yall stop hating on this person lmao she ddi a great reaction and as a reaction it is, yall suggesting her to research beforehand more is bs since then it wouldn't be a reaction
