Illegally stopped and harassed by Northumbria Police

  • On 15/02/2021 I was on a walk ALONE half a mile from my house. I was then stopped by officer 1865 who stated I was breaking lockdown rules. I explained to him that I was on a daily walk and that I lived in the area. I then started recording as he kept reaching for his taser, and I felt uncomfortable. I gave him my name and D.O.B however I did not have to give him my address as I had not committed a crime (and i am 16). While officer 1865 was doing a background check, officer 3798 walked over to me, switched his body cam off and immediately got into my personal space, I then step back to create more space, however every time I stepped back, 3798 would step closer. He is visibly seen hiding his collar number, as to not be on video (UK police officers are required to give collar numbers during an incident if a member of the public asks for them). You then hear him say “what are you going to do” in an obviously intimidating tone. Just before he leaves, he mutters “f**k off” under his breath, leading me to mutter the word “pr**k”. Officer 1865 then threatens to “lock me up” for that action. After 1865 has completed the background check, he then gives me a fine for “breaking covid regulations” even though, my address was half a mile from where I was stopped. Both police officers have been reported and the situation.

Update: The investigator has stated the incident was my fault. He has stated that I was never told I would be locked up, the officer never got in my face and he never told me to ‘fuck off’. currently submitting an appeal as they have clearly ignored the blatant evidence.

@Adrian Houghton well he didn't really outsmart anyone,he was spoken down to and ordered back home when he was simply taking a walk for exercise and he stood there and took it,as much as it hurts me to say it if that copper has spoken to a man that had a more understanding of the law it might have been a different ending entirely.
The youngster was spoken to like he had been caught playing truant, the two coppers were triumphant in their bullying of this young lad who really was doing nothing illegal and they got away with it.

Unbelievable, PC Prick was trying to initiate a “situation” so he could then jump in heavy handed, disgraceful behaviour from a bully. What a way to interact with young people, earning the hate, day by day, hour by hour. That’s just got me so wound up, you should get your parents to get in touch with the chief constable and complain, I don’t know what he said to you as he shirked off, I’m sure it was something that fully deserved your response, his behaviour alone deserved that!

He was doing exactly that, you walk right up into someone's face and get really close naturally you're going to either back away or put your hands out to stop them getting closer or get defensive and stand your ground. Because he was recording and didn't leave the vicinity of where the officer who had him detained was he couldn't come in heavy handed and say that he was reacting to attempted assault on a officer or fleeing. His camera saved him here. I know some police officers personally who are really good people, unfortunately many jobs of authority will attract some who would like to abuse that position to feel superior and powerful. And they are some of the most pathetic dregs of society that exist. Hope you challenge the fine and get it dismissed and that some consequences happen to the officers involved after you reported this and your video gains attention. Best of luck.

He openly lies that you are getting in his face when it is abundantly clear that HE and HE alone provoked the situation. @2:02 the (same) second police officer says to you : "fuck off" ; then turns to walk away. You, correctly challenge him. He says nothing. You, correctly call him a "prick". Young, Sir : go all the way with this in Court. Both Officers have violated their Oath, bullied you and acted unlawfully. You will win 100%. 😊
