- With back to back typhoons, we wasted no time to get on the water to test our first time on the Pakayak Bluefin 142. The Pakayak Bluefin 142 definitely feels different to the Tucktec Folding Kayak as they are different types of kayaks. Our Tucktecs will keep us busy with shorter trips while we intend to use the Pakayak to explore more open waters and longer distances.
As always, another BBQ was planned!

TUCKTEC VS PAKAYAK: czcams.com/video/6ybTM03nvAU/video.html
Awesome video! you guys really know how to do an outing in style! I just ordered a Pakayak in Sunshine. Looking forward to getting on the water real soon!
Thanks! Oh you're going to have so many great adventures with the Pakayak. Have you kayaled before?
Yes, I have an Easy Rider Eskimo 17 and my wife has a Wilderness Systems Cape Horn. She just got an Oru Beach LT last year, so I wanted to get a stow able kayak of some sort. A friend of mine had a 2 man Klepper Aerius kayak, which was a whale of a boat, but got me hooked on kayaking back in the 80s.
@@tomgorycki7176 oh wow.. you're so much more experienced! I'm still getting the hang of kayaking.
That steak looked so good. Stanley looks so calm and confident while he was paddling away. Thanks for the video, it was great.
He does look quite calm and smooth while paddling. His steaks are to die for.. though we did get some sand on them which added a bit of crunch haha
Thanks for this very genuine reaction 😁
Very welcome! Hope you enjoyed the video
Please post more kayak videos!!!
I will try! I really miss kayaking!
Awesome, closer to 'real' kayaks I would imagine.
Hi! I suppose it’s a different kayak :)
OMG the new review!!!
Haha! Not really a review.. just having fun with it :)
Super sweeeeet! I have the 'Sunshine' Pakayak and I LOVE it! I got the Tucktek and the Pakayak around the same time and was able to get a feel for them both. I started kayaking lessons last summer 2021 and fell in love with the sport. I think the Pakayak is definitely designed to be more 'tippy' to turn better and handle stronger currents, but it also depends on paddle stroke skills and using the legs and hips for paddle efficiency. I've used the Pakayak way more than the Tucktec for longer paddling days as well as it being able to handle choppier waters, but the Tucktec is still a good option for shorter paddle days in calm waters. Great color choice on your Pakayak - I absolutely love my Sunshine! Great video! Cheers!
YAY.. so happy to meet another Tucktec/Pakayak owner. My problem is that I might not be able to stop shopping 😂😂 There's actually quite a few people with both the Pakayak and the Tucktec and everyone loves them both for different reasons. I'm relatively new to kayaking too and just fallen in love with it like yourself!
@@Fishaholicboy Ha, I think I might have the same problem with shopping😂! Every time I think I dont 'need' anything else, I find I actually do, lol. But I'm glad it's for a good cause, as kayaking ca be a nice workout and is also very relaxing as well. Looking forward to seeing more of your experiences.
Man just discovered your channel. I just ordered the ORU BEACH LT kayak, if i like KAYAKING that much i want to order one of these next. You guys have a BEAUTIFUL place to KAYAK and that water is sooooo CLEAR and Blue, WOW. Great video here.
Hi! I haven't tried Oru kayaks but I know they are great! I am so sure you will have lots of fun with it. Just make sure you have your PFD :)
Nice Kayak !
Thanks! Now I can choose which kayak to take with me :) Just depends on the trip
Kayak and rapping was fun 🤣
I expect more singing from you!
What the difference between the previous kayak?
This one look sturdy and the colour is amazing!
Hi Calvin! The Tucktec is a folding kayak and a recreational one. It’s much much lighter. The Pakayak is 6 pieces which is more recreational/touring kayak to cover more distances and able to get to rougher areas. Depending on where you want to go, both are great!
What are your thoughts on carrying a crab cage a short way out into the sea? Is there scope to insert rod or camera holders?
I think you can use a smaller crab cage but I haven’t used it before. You can get a rod holder for the Tucktec! I use my GoPro on the Tucktec and I use a suction mount on the Tucktec. It sticks really well but I still tie it up just in case it loosens
How readily does this kayak drift left or right when you stop paddling and coast along?
Hi.. it really depends on the current and the wind. I believe it will depend on the situation.
@Fishaholicboy Hey quick question, how did you feel about the weight? I am only 5'2 woman and fear it might be too heavy for me to handle fully asembled. Like going down some steps or a steep road to a lake or river, would that be a problem?
Hi! I have to say, it is a quite heavy for me to carry by myself. I have trouble moving it around when fully assembled. However, Pakayak also sells All Terrain Wheels you can put your kayak on and roll it to the shore line. Hope that helps!
@@Fishaholicboy Thank you!
The video quality is so good, and the BBQ is so yummy 😋😋😋. Did you do any colour grading? The colour is so vibrant and good!
Thanks! My mate always bring really great food.. I’m always so spoilt! I didn’t colour grade so much as I don’t know how to do it properly 😂 I used GoPro 9 with colour boost for this video although sometimes I feel it’s very saturated. Do you colour grade yours much?
@@Fishaholicboyyou have a good buddy, is there any restrictions on outdoor fire in HK? In SG, we need to apply for license, which makes it troublesome.. Your drone footages are amazing too. i wish i know how to do colour grading, but no i don't, i used it straight out of the camera. The previous videos were mostly shot on Gopro 7, but the most recent one was Gopro 10 (i forgot to turn on the "Vibrant" colour profile though, it appears a bit under exposed (i use - 0.5EV, i probably shouldn't have) 😅
@@AlleyCat888 I do believe there are some restrictions at the camping grounds. I also use the GoPro 10 now as I dropped my 9 in the water 😭
@@Fishaholicboy oh no! How did that happen? I totally understand that feeling, i dropped my Gopro7 in water last year too, together with the Snap mount plate 😢
@@AlleyCat888 haha same! My snapmount fell in together! I was trying to paddle fast to surf a wave and I hit the camera with my paddle.. 😅 oh well.. it happens I guess. How did you drop yours?
What Paddle and your arm sleves you used? Thank You
The paddles are from Hornet: www.hornetwatersports.com/collections/kayak
As for the arm sleeves.. I can’t remember what brand they were and the brand name rubbed off 😅
Try Oru kayak… it’s awesome. Great vid
Thank you! I would love the chance to try the Oru.. heard so many great things about it and also through watching CZcams videos!
Great video and we have just subscribed to the channel! Would you still be using the Tucktec for any of your adventures?
Hi! Thanks for watching! Definitely still be using the Tucktec :) the Tucktec is just so light and convenient. It will just depend on where I go to decide which one I will use.
@@Fishaholicboy Great to hear that because I've just purchase one Tucktec kayak and will be fishing with it very soon! 🎣
@@BZFishing I see! The tucktec is more stable as it’s a recreational kayak. Definitely better for fishing adventures! I’ll use the Pakayak when I do 20km+ trips :) you’ll have so much fun with the Tucktec!
And how readily does weathercocking affect it wind?
Having a rudder or a skeg will help with weather cocking however I don't haveit. I just adjust my paddling.
Can you share a link on more information for Pakayak please?
Calvin, you can find it here: pakayak.com/
Thank you ! Nice u can mix and match for colourful kayaking.. will consider to get one !
The paddle is beautiful
Any link to the product ?
I agree! It is beautiful and light too, 737grams. I bought it on Amazon but unfortunately they sold out. You can see it here: amzn.to/3wCXxT1
I believe this company focuses on Dragon Boat paddles.. not so much on kayaking paddles. Hope it helps!
@@Fishaholicboy Great, Thanks
I'm just curious, are you from Hong Kong, and learned English with an Australian accent, or are you from Australia?
Hi! I grew up in Sydney, Australia :) I came to Hong Kong for work about 12 years ago and never left ☺️ some people say I don’t have a strong Aussie accent but I feel I still have it haha
@@Fishaholicboy you definitely still have it, though not the thickest I've heard. That is coming from an American though, so take that with a grain of salt.
My birthday is next month. If you want to gift me a pakayak I would be so grateful😇
Hahaha happy early birthday!
@@Fishaholicboy thank you😁😁😁
