LOVED how Charlie simply mentioned that Penn & Teller did a "Magic Trick" with the Flag as he innocently mentioned they might have burned it or maybe it was indeed a magical illusion!
You know that’s right
@@AdamDMurray "Are you saying it's a magic trick, that they didn't burn the flag?"
"I've heard it both ways"
@@dellavie4319 come on son
God, I love this show so much!
Please put up the clip where Curtis carries the president off the plane
"Leonard, go ahead"
"Stanley"
"Okay"
Once again I've gotta say it - God bless Sorkin and co for making Martin Sheen always forgetting people's names part of the Bartlet character 😂😂😂
An eternally brilliant touch.
I think this was post Sorkin wasn’t it? But either way, continuity scratches something itchy in my brain. Love it.
@@JayhawkJazzy This was post Sorkin, but its something they could've easily dropped without many folks noticing, but they kept it in so I thought I'd give em credit too hahahaha
“Leonard, go ahead”
“Stanley”
“Okay…”
3:31 a lot of focus on Bartlet's MS becoming more reoccuring.
Yep, and it had a big pay off in the plane
A question I have looking back is, did he ask the Surgeon General on the summit trip because of her cogent mind for public health policy, or because she was a certified doctor and close personal friend who could help his wife treat his symptoms? Both reasons work.
@@geoffrose9647 can have both
@@geoffrose9647 Oh, it was absolutely the latter. Policy briefing was just his pretext for having her come along.
This wouldn't fly today. Penn & Teller would release the statement saying they didn't *really* burn a flag. But nobody would hear the statement over the roar of *internet memes* showing Bartlett burning a flag.
No one would give a damn.
@@B2Roland It would be a full 72 hour news cycle on Fox and Truth Social.
@@bridgecross More like a fucking 24/7.
You can always tell the shows that Sorkin was a great writer.
Sorkin had stopped writing for west wing by this season I think
@@kit7605 I'm pretty sure you are right. After he left, the conversations were gone, but they tried to make up for it by "brighter" shots, and more A list celebrities.
@@pympton Brighter shots? All of Season 5 was noticeably darker (literally) than the prior seasons. It's like they ran out of money in the budget for lighting.
@@jbuster9 Sorkin left at the end of season 4... That might explain a lot.
@@pympton I'm aware of that. Still don't know what you meant by "brighter" shots.
The high 5 is stupid there.....bit of a miss.
