  • One of the most common questions we receive at Trusted House Painter is, How long does it take for paint to dry?
While most acrylic latex paint can be recoated within 1-2 hours, not all paints have the same dry time. Also there's a difference between dry time and cure time.
In this video, Paul Stein from Trusted House Painter explains some of the factors that determine how long it takes for paint to dry, and some other considerations to understand when painting the interior or exterior of your home.

Thanks. You saved me from painting outside when I shouldn't (pretty nice day right now, but rain moving in later in the evening).

Assuming proper painting requires 2 coats, if 2nd coat is painted when 1st coat is not dried fully, what issues can arise if house interior js painted in a country with super high humidity typically 90 to 99% tropical country? Most painters in my city paint effort is 1 day only. All done within 1 day. My point is, i suspect these are not doing it properly. Subscribed and thumbs up

@@LonganLee yeah, likely not done within paint specs. However, most acrylic paint dries within 2 hrs and can be repainted once dry. The paint specs on the can are only specified for warranty reasons. It’s the prep that matters the most.
