    I’ve been looking for a professional video on this job all over CZcams. Thanks you’ve given me the courage to try and do this job. I’ve got a dead Jeep sitting in my driveway.

    Thank you. My local garage told me, after me n my son, towed my jeep into town with my tractor, that he couldn't do it because he doesn't have an engine cradle. So towed it back and will be attempting it myself tomorrow. Thanks again for the video.

    Excellent, i have leaking engine mounts that i will be replacing and as soon as i seen the starter in behind the mount i had the feeling that if the starter ever goes i will need to remove the mount again. No use doing the same job twice so looks like ill be doing the starter as a precaution while i do the mounts.

    I'm replacing my starter as I type....I"ve not removed the intake manifold but Im trying to get the bracket & motor mount in now and its a pain. I just watched @EngineInformant 's video again and I will try to install the mount first and also move that AC line out of the way and see if I can get the bracket back in. That's what is holding me up right now. Also I appreciate you showing how to test the starter, I had the new started tested before i bought it at AutoZone so I know its working. Now, I "tested" the old one and confirmed it's bad. Thanks again

      @EngineInformant moving that water pump line out of the way solved the issue getting that bracket in place! thanks again.

    I have yet to find a DIY video about the 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland V6 engine. 😢

    So you did not have to remove the intake manifold?

    All of a sudden my gc just has a click/clunk when i go to start it. Does that sound like the starter on these. I cant easily get to the starter to test power or anything obviously so thought id ask. Thanks

    • @EngineInformant
      @EngineInformant  Před 10 měsíci

      for me mine just would spin without engaging. a clunk would make me think something is stuck or locked

      @EngineInformant yeah i tapped the starter with a rod and cycled the start button like 20x and all is good now. Thanks!

    How did you get the back bolt out on the lower part of the motor mount? I can’t get to it at all!

    Is this the same way for a 2015?

  • @xj31

    So that engine uses 2 different starters, they are different sizes. One is for stop-start and to change that one, the motor mount needs to come out. The little starter, the one in this video, can come out very easily without touching that motor mount.

      Thanks for the reply however the start stop function wasn't implemented until years later

      @xj31 Před 9 měsíci

      No kidding. My point is you didn't need to take the motor mount out. You have the tiny little starter in the video@@EngineInformant

      @@danp4160 I'm not incorrect, It depends on the year and size of the starter. I am a tech at a jeep dealer and I have probably replaced over a hundred of those starters
