Unstoppable - Eric Dickerson Colts Highlights

- Eric Dickerson had run roughshod over the league as a Ram, looking to be well on his way to a 20K yard career in LA as the greatest tailback ever. However, Dickerson wore out his welcome in the city of angels, and was shipped to Indianapolis in a blockbuster trade in 1987. Dickerson was dominant during his first couple of years, leading the Colts to winning records in two of his first three years with the club (and a 8-8 year in the third). Prior to Dickerson's arrival, the Colts had been the laughingstock of the league. Injuries derailed his career after 1989, and Dickerson ended his career as a transcendent talent who didn't quite live up to his early career hype. However, for the first few years in Indianapolis, Dickerson displayed the vision, speed, and agility that made him the best running back of the 1980's.
Every video clip in this video is property of the NFL. I'm just a guy who enjoys making highlight videos, so please don't take this down.
The footage found in this video was found in the Colt Yearbook videos from NFL Films. The song is called "Plastic Love," and it seems to be a popular choice among the Vaporwave/Weeb community (those two terms seem somewhat interchangeable). - Sport
I've uploaded TWO videos in the same week??? Are we back in summer of 2016 again? Oh wait, no we're not. There's no Gymnopedie playing in the intro or unpolished 3 yard runs throughout this video.
Collin Telesz (the #1 source of Colts highlights on CZcams) made a Colts-era Dickerson video a few years ago, and before today, it was the only one of its kind worth watching. I decided to try my hand at making such a video, and this was the result. I now understand why his highlight video was so short, since there wasn't a whole lot of footage to work with. Since I decided to be a snob and only use overhead "broadcast angle" footage, that also cut down on the highlights I could include.
Anyways, Dickerson was still an incredible running back in Indianapolis. While he had slightly declined from his days as an LA Ram, Dickerson was still capable of putting the team's offense on his shoulders. His ability to cut and move laterally at 6'3 and 220 pounds was astounding. And he was just so smooth when he ran; it rarely looked like he was trying when he carried the ball. In a way, Dickerson reminded me of a football version of Kevin Durant.
I also hope you enjoyed the editing style of this video. 3 years after my initial Dickerson video, which was very bare bones, I've completely changed how my videos look. I now color grade, add music, and throw effects on top. I swore to never use music in my videos, or to throw effects on top of them. But I guess we all change our minds with time. I like to think that the effects and music don't take away from the highlights, but rather, they enhance them. After all, I'm still trying tp present the highlights like they're being shown on TV and in real speed.
As always, please let me know who you would like to see next! It doesn't have to be a football player either. It can be a basketball star too.

@PROJECTTROJANWARRIOR I looked around and I saw a lot of Deion Sanders highlight videos. His time at FSU seems to be already well-documented.
@PROJECTTROJANWARRIOR There's plenty of other great highlight video makers out there. JustBombProductions, Harris Highlights, and JSN are all great at making football videos. And those are just a few.
Try to do Jamal Lewis
Runs smooth like silk
To me nobody was as smooth as eric Dickerson
The most beautiful runner.
As a die hard football fan, this is the best football channel on CZcams... easily. Love the old school highlights. Keep it up!
One of the best stutter and cut backs ever
He is my all-time favorite running back as well I changed my high school jersey number in 1986 because of Eric Dickerson and wore goggles the whole nine !!!
He is my favorite All Time running back in N.F.L History.
🗣FACTS
Smooth and fast ...
Haven't seen a lot of these highlights before. Show's his versitility and speed!
Dickerson had the rare trait of being able to speed by defenders, despite looking like he was jogging.
THANK YOU! Dickerson is one player who needed a Super Bowl. At the RB position, we all know, even the best of the best can be forgotten. Thosr Colt years were his prime, and they just didn't have enough to be a serious threat. But Dickerson was beauty in motion, and you didn't want him to square his shoulders at 6'3" 220 plus. Your ass was getting trucked. We don't see many of those because Eric could juat put his foot in the ground, cut and he was gone. Truly, a once in a generation player.
The music baby! Yes
His first 2-2 1/2 years with the colts he was still A top 3-4 back in the league
WOW, didn't EVEN know He played for The Colts also.
Funny....biggest trade NFL history
Pocket Candy!!! does it again !!!! KING of the internet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the rarest of the rare you never see Dickerson highlights as a Colt..
Good Job Pocky 👍👍👍..
Still looking for Eric Dickerson when he was on the Soul Train. That’s rare.
@@jonmolina948 😂😂😂
He ran the ball the exact same way the whole time at SMU, Southern Methodist University. In Dallas Texas Park Cities.
Very nice music choice and straight to the point.
Played against him MLB in HS- no match- GOAT
PockyCandy!!! My Dude! You've done it once again. You are so appreciated. Thank you as always, One Love!
Thanks for enjoying the video!
I grew up in Texas and was in the same graduating year. I saw this in high school. He was hitting the hole almost before the qb gets around. He had to line up extra deep in the I because he was a blur.
Great music to match his running style.
Love this!!!!
Wow I can't believe it! Although Eric Dickerson is without question my favorite back there's just not a lot of Colt's highlights out there. Almost everything is from the Rams. This video was really nice, especially with the old style lettering and music in the video. PockyCandy you did it again! Thanks PC!
Yeah I can't believe I uploaded twice in one week either. I mean, I'm the guy who went months without posting on this channel.
But seriously, thanks for watching and enjoying the video. You're right about the lack of Colts highlights. Even a lot of his Rams highlights (from non-official NFL channels) are very lackluster. Dickerson deserves better highlights than what he currently has.
And If you want to share this to social media, that would be great too!
@@PockyCandy considering that you've basically hit 2 home runs in a week I had to post this one on my Facebook!
Dickerson/Simpson, the biggest but smoothest run'n backs there'll ever be; will cut on a dime, but truck right over you if need be. Awesome vid bro!👍💪
O.J was only 212 pounds and 6'1. E.D. was truly unique runner.
@@43captrexkramer I loved Dickerson's style of running and how he sported that neck collar 💪
I might have just stumbled on the best channel on YT.
Loved You Thank you Tecmo love you go Indianapolis a LiL Colt Thank you Tecmo love you sincerely yours
You didn't realize how fast he was running until you see him passing his blockers in the open field. So smooth but wasn't big on knocking defenders out of the way.
You STILL got one more video to make........(do the initials J.J. ring a bell???) It doesn't matter if people want to admit it or not, Eric Dickerson was one of the greatest PLAYERS of all time hands down.....hope I here from you again soon Poc.
So I recently found footage from the 1989-1993 Cardinals, and from the 1994 Jets. I think you know what that means.
@@PockyCandy Yes..........Yes I do!
@@mrrida503 I KNOW WHO JJ IS TOO... THAT WOULD BE GREAT!
When he was with Indy, that's when I was a huge fan. He was the best.
Ans Indy went to the playoffs then.
Well, nice return
It's a shame when a team has a dominant player like this and they do not get the supporting cast to make this player career as successful as it Can be nor help It's team
Best back in the NFL for 6 seasons, was still in his prime in Indianapolis. Payton is my favorite but Dickerson was better.
I miss the days when running backs mattered. Only about 8 teams run an Erhardt/Perkins offense. Now, teams pass 8/10 plays, operate out of shotgun 70% of the time and "run defense" is an afterthought. Not a single active NFL player is on the top 10 all time rushing list and I don't see that changing any time soon.
That's not true, Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson are bot in top 5.
This shit was groovy
How long did he play for the colts for?
Most of his highlights are of players trying to chase him down as he would make 1 cut and gone.
Hey Poc......any new newz on the J.J. vid??? .....you know my birthday is tomorrow...it would make a great (long overdue) gift!!! ~TBK
What is the name of the song
The song is called "Plastic Love."
Tecmo bowl
It would've been great if he had been in Tecmo Super Bowl too. No offense to 44 MS Albert Bentley, but having Dickerson on the roster would've made the Colts a fun team to play as.
PockyCandy actually Dickerson was on the very first edition. And then Bentley was put on because Dickerson and players union didn’t see eye to eye over money.
Too bad he was only on the 1st one and in the falcons 1993 version but he was weak in that game
The Eagles should've traded for Eric Dickerson Randell Cunningham need a running back
Wish he stayed with the Rams..
HE'S NOT THAT FAST I BET BRADY COULD CATCH HIM GIVE HIM 20 YEARS
HEADASS Headass ...not that fast????..did I miss the joke????
@@jamesvickers9476 lmao it was sarcastic he fast asl
All I remember is him crying about the O-Line. Selfish player on bad Colt teams.
You do realize in his first 4 years 3 times he carried 379 times or more, and first full year with Colts 388 times. They did kind of run him into the ground, and these days they worry about load management.
