The way ange plays isn’t new, these types of “systems” were in place in the 30’s with the Scotland National team, 50’s Hungarian National team even 30’-40’s Schalke teams. Get ahold of yourselves. This is the first season. New system and practically a new squad having lost Kane Perisic Solomon all together. Not to mention Sarr and Biss for afcon and maddison udogie and Sarr in vital moments. We don’t have the kind of depth to cope with that. Nobody does. Ffs take a deep breath and look at the calamity this season has been. We achieved more than we really should have.

The system was working and has now been countered and nullified. It wont work any longer its not a case of getting new players to utilise it better - our current squad grasped it and started the season well executing it - it got sussed and was easy to play down the channels and counter our 2 centre backs. There is no such thing as a most successful ideology. There are ideologies that can be successful for a period but they come and go as people figure out how to counter them. So-five-years-ago Ange is literally a wannabe copycat of Barcelona and a lot of what pep does and some of klopps football particularly gegenpressing. Both of those two managers who by the way are actual innovators, not copycats like Ange who tries hard to play what he perceives as in vogue football, have developed considerably beyond their fundamentals such as having possession and gegenpressing etc. big Ange has his head so far up his own arse that he doesn’t realise that possession and pressing isn’t the be all and end all for the top coaches anymore. Ange is clearly a big picture system type coach. I know He doesn't bring a staff with him but maybe he needs to get better quality coaches for his system in that area for next season. He is on a learning curve this season.

When players don't perform the easiest option is to blame the manager. In large part he inherited a team that other managers brought in. Plain as the nose on your face that we need a clean out. I’m not Ange out, yet, but he must show some adaptability, otherwise a slow start next season could prove fatal for Ange.

This club eats its own. This cycle repeats over and over because everyone is so desperate for success that they have no patience required to build anything sustainable. I’ve seen Ange do this time and time again. The same questions are asked, the same doubts, the same frustrations. Then it clicks and everyone realises his level of genius. He is trying to change a rotten mentality and develop a winning one, which requires short term pain. If no one is willing to endure short term pain, then expect the cycle to never stop. If Ange is backed, we will eventually break through this ceiling
Here is my 2 cents worth opinion. It is not possible to "build Rome = T'Spurs is one year" not with mostly the same players we have had with few new ones, Maddy, VDV Sarr, and Udogie. And we lost Kane.... Last year we performed really worst comparing to this year. What Conte said when Conte left - It was the players with no will in them. We now face with the same issue -- The Spurzy issue comprises The Culture, The Players, the Coach, the Supported Coaches, the Owner / Management and The Fan. We MUST united as one TEAM. Learning the Aston Villa it seems that the Coach has worked to change mostly the same players from last years plus few new players and Aston Villa has achieved a lot. We can not be MCity, Liverpool, Arsenal , it has taken these clubs 3-5 years to build them like today. We want MIRACLE and MIRACLE is not for FREE. It requires HARD WORK we MUST united as one TEAM and speak with ONE VOICE and maybe believing in perfect the SYSTEM with playing ONE STYLE.

I agree with Jorri. It seems highly likely that Pochettino will round off the season well at Chelsea and then get replaced by a Conte or Mourinho. That would give Daniel Levy a good opportunity to get the fans on side again and minimise the financial outlay in the summer. Moreover, the chummy chummy interchange between Mauricio and Ange told me a lot. I feel that the boardrooms and managers have already arrived at their respective conclusions.

Maddison is playing for free kicks too often and looking for the penalty he needs to stop it and score a hearty goal. Son hasnt been great either. The attack has been non existant in the final 3rd and overall the hunger to win isnt there. Ange is the right guy, he will win the league it might take him a little longer and more experience. We will have to learn some different tatics but he has to get everyone on the same page to get to next stage of his plan which is still plan A. He will eat some humble pie and he will adapt and he will show why he is the right guy for spurs. Its so funny how peoples judgements get so clouded after a few painful losses. The answer is he needs time, A few super players and he needs to nurture the character so they never rest on their laurels.

So I just feel sorry for VDV and romero. If the inverted full-back strategy is not immediately changed to a three-back strategy, it is expected that the remaining games will be lost.
