England was not settling for a 1:0 victory. They looked good in the first 20 minutes or so because Serbia was willing to play for a 0:0 draw and conceded possession by playing deep on their own half. Once England scored, Serbia had to chase the game and in so doing demonstrated that once a team decides to take the fight to England their vulnerabilities and inefficiencies are going to become painfully obvious to those who continue to label them “tournament favorites.”

I'm not English, but their problem starts with the goalkeeper Pickford. In modern football, the goalkeeper should be cool, calm and relaxed. He should also help to build up the game from the back and carry it forward, which Pickford does not reflect at all.
He tries to make unnecessary long 30 yards pass towards Kane, who is alone against 2 defenders, the ball is lost.
Gets upset about his teammates at every action and save.
There is no pressure from the opponent and still his pulse is at 180.
At crosses and corners that he could easily catch, he fists away.
Is not exactly a big help for the defense with Stones and Walker, who usually have a calm and technically strong goalkeeper (Ederson)

Southgate the armadillo. Any risk and he curls up into a defensive ball. England are not winning anything with Southgate. Looks like the final against Italy.
A good coach sees the second half and replaces Kane with Watkins to prevent The Serbs pushing forward and gives England a counter attacking try rest with speed. Southgate sees that does nothing for 70 minutes, subs the only player with pace, puts on two holding players holds on against an interior team for 45 minutes. Southgate is wasting this talented team. He clearly is a limited coach.
Big up Guehi . The media and world was saying England was weak in defence because they know who Guehi because he plays for a smaller team and doesn’t benefit from racially bias media hype. People forget he was Chelsea’s star youth defender and won the youth Champions league and U20 World Cup with England. He had acres of Space today when Serbia sat back early in the game which was a mistake that led to the goal, once he scored they started pressuring the midfield and England immediately started turning the ball over and got sloppy with their passing. England may improve their passing but a good team will catch England napping in the back and will go to town.

Worst match of the Euros so far. And this overrated England team had a part in it. Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands played so much better, more balanced teams, especially on the ball England are horrible. Trent is not a midfielder, just playing long passes doesn‘t qualify you to play in that role. He isn’t press-resistent and can’t play on the half turn. The left side is bad, Foden needs to play in the 10, he would do better than Bellingham. Against stronger teams, you need more creativity in the middle. Jude in the 10 can’t offer that. They lack a controller as well, like Kroos is for Germany, Rice is not that guy. The defence will struggle against better teams, especially Trippier on the left is far off international top level. Overall i would be shocked if they make it past the quarters.

You need controll in this types of tournaments and Unlocking Phoden would help the team more than Jude abandoning his role next to Rice.
You’re then free to have 2 dangerous wingers in Gordon and Saka with Harry Kane occupying the CBs and being a crossing option.

It’s bizarre that Trent gets a lot of slack for not playing in his correct position but then Foden who played a lot worse of a game the narrative is massively different. Foden is a great player but he’s not getting picked over Bellingham for that 10 role and he’s terrible on the left.

🇩🇪 fan here I thought 🇷🇸 were a bit unlucky that they could not score a goal. I don’t think they played terribly and I want nothing lost to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 is not a bad result. They should advance they won’t play atone tougher than 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and they hanged with one of the top 3 favorites. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 have a good team but 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇪🇸 and 🇮🇹 play as a TEAM. They win as a TEAM and they lose as a TEAM. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 are a bunch of rich individuals it is also a cultural thing, everyone wants to be the hero, and score the game winning goal. The thing is o not one guy can. The other problem is Southgate he is not a top tier manager, he is mediocre at best.

@@Michael-cb5nmIt was working... England were worse when TAA went off. Gallagher couldn't keep or pass the ball... bias much ? He set up a huge chance for Belligham. Intercepted for a huge chance for Walker / Saka. Also had 1 of our 3 shots on target. I'd focus on inept Foden more
