The manual only says to insert a clean, dry hand. It says nothing about positioning, and my thumb was crushed. (not actually crushed, but made really uncomfortable) Out of desperation, I looked for the correct positioning, and I don't know about this ridge spoken of in the video. I can feel something an inch to either side of the middle ball, and then a bigger ridge past the horrible rubber appendages that keep torturing me repeatedly. There should be no assumptions on where to place the hand. The massager is brutally powerful on the lowest setting, and it HURTS.
