  • A walk around Morro Jable in Fuerteventura - the great pillow hunt
    After an uncomfortable first night in the Fuerteventura Princess hotel, because the pillows were like having my head on a rock, I decided to go shopping in Morro Jable for a soft one.
    I walk through the shops of Morro Jable old town and ended up on Morro Jable beach, which is at the southern end of the lovely Jandia beach. If you want to know what is Morro Jable like this should help.
    I couldn't find a shop selling pillows. After giving up and starting to walk back to the car, I noticed the first shop I walked past and went in. They had pillows!

    Hi JP, I have to say I have always admired the discipline(? or perhaps it is just how men are) of men who go shopping with a list of 2 items and low and behold only purchase 2 items!!!!! I would have walked out of the store with new bed throws, a couple of scatter cushions, a new floor mat, and whatever else caught my eye, and several other things from the Pharmacy. The trees are gorgeous and they are Royal Poinciana, very similar to our Australian Jacaranda (purple flowers). Anyhow the beach looks amazing, I hope the new pillow offers some relief 😁

    You know, John, we have lived here just over five years now, and have never visited Morro Jable old town! We’ve driven past a few times on the way to Cofete or Punto de Jandia, but have never taken the left hand turn. Well, as soon as Helen sees this blog I just know she is going to want to organise a trip/stay, so thanks for that! Seriously, though, it does look very, very attractive, especially with those trees in bloom (we have always wondered what they are called, there are lots in Puerto del Rosario, but I see someone has named them in another comment - I must make a note). Love the video, it really does work well just strolling around with the camera. Hope you both got a good night’s sleep after your efforts! Cheers, Alan

      That is quite hard to believe and you live closer than me too. It is a nice little town. I quite like the streets with the trees down the middle and the little cafes with tables under them. Almost more like a mainland village. Thanks for watching Alan.

      Yes, flew for quite a few years out of Denham, Booker, Leavesden and Blackbushe. I owned a quarter share in a Tampico for a few years too. I stopped in 2002 when I started racing. Do you still fly? The weather is pretty warm at the moment. Have a great time and if you see me about say hi.

    I fully understand the pillow problem here in Europe. As we drive almost everywhere, we take our pillows with us. :-) In this case, from 1:26~1:31 I think I would've just deleted it instead of playing it fast motion.

    What a cliffhanger! Love it when there is a happy end 😉
    Tried something like this 15 years ago in Mallorca.
    Went to buy a travel hairdryer for my wife. 40 degrees in the shade 😎. First Day on holiday.
    Had two choises leaving the hotel. Left whereabouts all The shops were or right to The Beach.
    Went left, spend 2 hours and finaly after 10 or so shops, found one .
    In The afternoon we went to The Beach. Just round The corner less than 2 minuttes from The hotel, was a small lokal shop with everything electrical including hairdriers 🤬
    It was even cheaper there 😢

    Love Morro Jable, I was there last year, stayed at the Sol Fueretvenruta Jandia (Sol Jandia Mar Apartments) it’s currently closed till December because of well needed renovations on the room, it was a nice hotel location was spot on, lots of Germans when I was there! Simons Irish Bar did the best burgers I must say!

    • @JPinFuerteventura
      @JPinFuerteventura  Před 5 lety +1

      I agree, the old town is lovely. The newer touristy part is not so nice. The south is predominately frequented by German tourists. They were the first to discover Fuerteventura as a sunshine destination I think. Thanks for watching Elliot.

  • @JudeTheYoutubePoopersubscribe

    As far as I remember fuerteventura was very nice although my family got pissed off with the wind so we go to Tenerife instead as it’s not very windy mostly. Over here in Britain we’ve had the hottest day on record at 38.7c. Suddenly today it will be raining and 18c. Can’t have it all can you. What sort of temps are over in the Canary Islands in November. Can’t wait.

    Hi. nice video from Morro Jable. Can you recommend some places for "nightlife" (restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs ...) in Morro Jable, Jandia or nearby ?

    • @JPinFuerteventura
      @JPinFuerteventura  Před 4 lety

      Hi Martin. Well we stayed in a hotel 5 km away so we didn't go into Morro Jable at night. My guess is that there won't be too much nightlife since large hotels dominate the south and people tend to stay in them at night. There may be some life in the bars in the newer part of Morro Jable opposite the lighthouse perhaps. Thanks for watching.
