    For the hot and sweaty summers, littllextra riceberry sunscreen is a must and alongside it, the riceberry face wash is necessary to clear out the pores from dust and microbes which could lead to acne. It cleanses your skin effectively without over-drying. I am loving those and would purchase them repeatedly.

    How about sunscreen that is not harmful for the marine environment? I think this is also a big thing to consider when buying a sunscreen, specially for people that go to the beach. If you go swimming you don't want to be polluting the sea affecting the health of marine ecosystems.

    1) pick a sunscreen that has both UVA and UVB / broad spectrum
    2) SPF 30 is the best choice, not much different between SPF 30 and SPF 50.
    3) pick physical aka Inorganic/ mineral for sensitive skins
    4) roll one and lotions are the best

      Try 🇰🇷 brands make p:rem, Suntique, Round Lab, Purito and Krave. They are cruelty-free unlike Biore. These brands have vegan products or are completely vegan.

    What if sunscreen prevents useful doses that help in forming vitamin D ?
    Could you specify the margin of dosage consider useful, above it considers risky?

    In one of your videos, you said that UVB generates Vitamin D. So should I use sunscreen or not?

    • @DocUnlock
      @DocUnlock  Před 4 lety +1

      Good question! I discuss this in my '11 things to know about sunscreen' video. The bottom line is that if you are going to spend more than 10-15 minutes outside on a high UV day (ie UV index >3), then you should use sunscreen.
      In real life use, sunscreen doesn't completely block UVB so your body will still be able to make enough vitamin D. I discuss references to studies in the '11 things' video

    • @DocUnlock
      @DocUnlock  Před 5 lety

      Hi REHENDHI MV, thank you for the suggestion - I will add it to my list of future potential topics. In the meantime, I would suggest you have a look at the following website to get more information about dry skin: www.dermnetnz.org/topics/dry-skin/
      If you need help regarding your skin, I would encourage you to see your family doctor in the first instance. This is because there are some medical conditions that can mimic dry skin, but require very different treatment to plain dry skin. For example some people can have a condition called 'atopic dermatitis', which may look like dry skin but often requires prescription creams as part of its treatment. If you haven't seen a doctor about your skin in the past, I would encourage you to get a check up so that you can get a proper diagnosis about what's causing your dry skin.
      Thanks again for your suggestion!

    Hi! I loved the video! I have some questions... Should you combine moisturizer lotion with sunscreen? I ask because I always assumed sunscreen already moistures the skin... Is that true? Does it matter if you apply one right after the other? Does the order matter?

    • @DocUnlock
      @DocUnlock  Před 5 lety

      Some (but not all) sunscreens are formulated with a moisturiser built in. If you have dry skin, you can try one of those and see if it suits your skin. Otherwise it is fine to apply moisturizers together with sunscreen. Here is an article that talks about this point in more detail: health.howstuffworks.com/skin-care/moisturizing/basics/should-you-put-moisturizer-or-sunscreen-on-your-face-first-.htm

    • @DocUnlock
      @DocUnlock  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Tara. In general, chemical and physical sunscreens both provide good sun protection but have different pros and cons. For sensitive skin, physical sunscreens tend to irritate the skin less than chemical sunscreen. The downside is that physical sunscreens can leave a white streak especially if you have dark skin.
      If you're looking for specific medical advice about which sunscreen is good for your skin (especially as you have lupus) I would suggest talking to your GP or dermatologist.
