    I've had mine a month now its amazing I'm gonna get a usb turntable to load vinyl samples into it, the possibilities are endless with maschine

    To those who's having sampling issues with the Maschine Mikro , using your DAW of choice, record your sample in the DAW, convert it to a wave file, export it on to your desktop or create a folder, drag it to the sound slot of your choice as if you were loading a sound to the pad in the group section, works for both PC and MAC, for all of my Logic Pro Users, you also use your apple loops too, just do as I previously stated, now get your sampling on my DAWGS

    anyone having problems with this can avoid the external sampling complications. All you must do is find the song u want to sample. Import it as an mp3 into itunes then change the import settings of itunes to WAV. Then you can just drag and drop the song into your sound 1 slot or whatever slot you want. From there u can edit the sample in maschine by using internal sampling.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX Před 7 lety +2

      To be honest, that's a pretty terrible work flow though. I really think it was a major design flaw not to have focused more on direct sampling from external sources. Anyone remotely interested in sampling from like a turntable is going to use it.

    • @anthonyb.2983
      @anthonyb.2983 Před 6 lety +1

      PHeMoX Why not just get a USB phono in and out interface for $30 or less for turntable, mp3 player, cd, cassette player sampling? That makes the Maschine Mikro able to do both what the OP suggested and do direct sampling.
      The Maschine Micro MK2's are the most bang for buck beat production devices around. The Electribe Sampler has no Pad Gate or Choking, and the Roland SP404A has no MIDI out, drum pads, or velocity sensitivity. And the software blows away the MPC Studio's software.

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety +1

    The first question (only having the sample play while you have the pad held down) deals with Oneshot vs Amplitude Envelopes. Oneshot plays the sample the whole way through even if you let go. If you put an AHD or ADSR envelope on it though, it will behave differently depending on when you release the pad. The second question deals with polyphony. Set it to 1 so the pad cuts itself off. Hope that's helpful!

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety

    Press the Windows button (or click it on the toolbar) and type in "sound card." Then select "change sound card settings." Go to the Recording tab and make sure your default device is line in.
    In the Maschine software, hit File and enter Audio and MIDI settings. Hit the Routing tab, then inputs, and make sure inputs 1 and 2 are your line in.

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety

    That's actually how I record a lot of samples! It works really well. Pretty clever because you can get any audio whatsoever (even when it might not be so legal)...if you can hear it, you can grab a quality WAV of it.

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety

    I think you're asking how to change the pad mode from one-shot. Choose "Sound" from Master/Group/Sound, then click the first tab which should be the Sampler. Click the little down arrow and select the second option (Pitch/Gate/Amplitude Envelope). Change the Type from Oneshot to one of the envelopes, AHD or ADSR. Hope that helps!

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety

    Go to sampling mode, then the edit tab. The little triangle on the right opens up all the editing options. Choose timestretch!

  • @andrewchellmanmusic
    @andrewchellmanmusic  Před 11 lety

    Okay, here goes. Make sure you have the Sound tab selected (you can choose between master, group, and sound). With the Sound tab selected, click the tab labeled "Sampler." You should see "Voice Settings" and a little arrow to the left of that title, right below the "1" of the first module. Click the arrow, and then click "Pitch/Gate/Amplitude Envelope" from the drop-down menu. There, you can choose between the different options.

    There should be a 1/8 inch/3.5mm input for a mic on your computer. It looks exactly like the headphone out but with a little mic next to it instead of headphones. Take a 1/8 aux cable and run your iPod into that mic input of your laptop. That's how I do it!

    Andrew, how do you make the maschine pads play only when you hit and hold them? Whenever I press one, and press it again, the sample just keeps layering

      TheLastFlohican Go to the sampler, and on the second page of parameters, change "one shot" to "ADSR"

      +Boris Aronson sounds like you need to check audio settings from the software?

      Choose external stereo as your input, that will fix the mono issue

      andrewchellmanmusic I have the same issue but in L R ch 1 all I hear is a noise, and in the other channels nothing detects the sound coming from my phone. I have my phone connected with a 35 mm jack into the Mic input in my computer.

    i can't sample off my phone. The input is not working. There is feedback. I have a mac. I don't want to do. I just trasnfrom it into a wav file and just sample it from there.
