Have you ever wondered if you could have as good of a time as it looks like he is having in like every video
I’m Always having a good time 😁
@@artisans8521 You’re absolutely right, I never mentioned that.. same goes with the big MK3 when you have a sample and start moving the start/end points and also zooming in.. depending how much you zoom!
man if I had this setup when I was like 20 id be a billionaire right now
I’m closer to 40 than 20.. but I guess it’s never too late to start a journey, and I’ve slowly built this setup during my three years on CZcams.

great video! are you no able to slice with auto snap on mikro mk3?
Yo , really cool video ❤
really wanted to know if is that the Yamaha hs 5 ? or hs 7 ? Thanks 🙏
Thanks a lot. It’s the HS7 👊🏻
Another great video as always! Quick question. Where did you find the Maschine shirt? I've been looking all over trying to find one.
Sup Michael. Thank you my friend 👊🏻. Not sure if the shirts are available, but I got them directly from NI because I’ve worked with them. I have a Mikro shirt available on my merch store if you visit boombapart.com 👊🏻
Great channel sir! Just subscribed. Quick question Can you put the same sample on say two pads and detune the second sample to make a subtle difference in them. Like is there a dial on the Maschine Mikro for that or do you have to do it in the DAW? Am gonna look at more of your videos over the next few days. really like yo sound n style of beats. Cool mufucca too. Thank You for sharing your knowledge and workflow man!!
Thank you my friend and welcome to the channel.👊🏻 Yes you can tune each pad individually to your liking, and I’m pretty sure you can do it from the controller, but imma double check that. I’ve been working mostly with the MK3 and you can do all that stuff from the controller.
@@BoombapArt Thank You fella thats brilliant. much appreciated! Learning lots yo

Nice Bro! I really want to enter the world of native instruments, would you recommend the mikro or the mk3? I can make a money effort if you recommend me the full size mk3... worth the extra money? de mk4 is coming soon?
Thanks Brian! 🙏🏻 I went with the MK3 as my first controller, never regretted that investment.. sure it’s way pricier than Mikro, but the workflow of the MK3 is so much easier and faster. Who knows what they’re cooking up in the lab, but I think it’s going to take a while for a MK4 to hit the market to be honest. I can definitely recommend the MK3 👊🏻
Hey! Is it possible to do this on ableton, with this setup? Wanted to have the keyboard for melodies etc. But also have the Mikro MK3 for sampling and playing in drum patterns etc. But Ableton is my DAW ..wanted to know if I could do the same without using Machine...
Should work, yes! I’m not a Ableton use tho. 👊🏻
I always like when beat producers add elements on top of the sample. Very hard thing to do in my experience.
Just curious where them drumz from? Bump city shit
Yeah, can be a bit challenging sometimes adding more layers on top of the samples, specially with pitch and find the right tuning of the VST, same goes with bass. I think the drums comes from the expansion “Faded Reels”. Thanks 👊🏻
We need more my friend
More like? More specific ?👊🏻
BoombapArt more of you! but specifically just more Mikro, more jazz hip hop, J dilla beats, maybe even break down what makes a certain hip hop instrumental so great. Just some ideas, You’re a legend
Thank you my friend! 🙏🏻 maybe do a Mikro series? 🤷🏼♂️ I’m working on a 101 workflow video, so maybe do a Mikro as well 👊🏻
BoombapArt A mikro series would be sick, Im getting one for Christmas so I’d be so ready for it!
@@TheMegaMammoth Ah sweet! Welcome to the Maschine gang in advance 👊🏻 🎅
Hey man great video! I see you have the m32 with your mikro mk3. I was also thinking of getting a midi keyboard with my mikro but am really struggling with choosing between arturia and the m32. I like the arturia more in terms of looks and keys but I'm not too good with software so perhaps having only native instruments products helps me on that part. Could you please help me out?
Like are arturia products easily compatible with the mikro and maschine or is the m32 really better in terms of workflow with the mk3?
@@Otorongito It sounds like you want to stick to NIs lineup. It really depends on what DAW you plan to use in the future. I started out with a micro mk3 and Maschine Software. Later I got into Ableton as well. A few weeks after I got Ableton, I bought a Novation 49 MK3 launchkey. It works like a charm with Ableton because it is made for it, but if you plan using Maschine/Komplete at your main DAW, I would look into any of the Komplete Kontrol keyboards. They have the best implementation with NI software imo. All buttons/knobs premapped and you get the display-thingy. A lot of people also claim that they have better keys also in their lower price range. I haven´t tried myself, but there are people who claim that the A49 from NI, got better keys than Arturia keylab essential e.g. #3 The keyboards from NI also support the growing NKS-standard for VSTs.
unison, unisons, unisons chord part and skip.
that ad making me crazy
nice video btw
Unfortunately I can’t decide which ads to show. Yeah, I don’t like them either.. but they help the channel! Thanks a lot! 👊🏻
@@BoombapArt 👍👍👍btw can i ask u something on instagram? If u have
@@IdoBerg sure, hit me up @boombapart
Cant you chop on the fly like it serato sample? By pressing the different pads?
Yes you can. Not a method I use tho.. if I have a full song sampled it’s not ideal doing it that way.
Does this work with a Windows 7 desktop pc? Or only laptop?
Works on both, not sure about the requirements tho.. check their website to be sure 👊🏻
Hi. Just discovered your channel as i'm going to buy a maschine mikro Mk3. You do amazing sounds, really great!! How are you happy with the soundcraft mtk, and especially stability and converters? Cheers from France.
Hi. Thank you my friend 🙏🏻. I’ve been super happy with my MTK, never had any issues with it, unfortunately I had to sell it due to save space. Now I’m just using a simple two channel interface and I really miss all the inputs, so convenient to hook up multiple instruments.
@@BoombapArt Thanks for your feedback!
@@djudiv No Problem 👊🏻
Just got the mk3 mikro. Got so much to learn .. fuck.
Ah sweet! A couple of weeks and you’ll be a master 👊🏻
Can you please explain to me exactly which pads you press and how often in order to divide the sample between the different pads? when I press duplicate, somehow nothing happens. So I have the sample on pad 1 and fill all the other pads from there? don't I only have 15 samples, because the 1st is the whole one?
This is how I do it..
If I sample into pad 1 (full song) I often copy it over to pad 16 as my “original”.
When you press duplicate, you first hit the pad you want to duplicate and then where you wanna place it.
Pad 1 - press duplicate - press pad 2.
And when I have my pad 1 how I want it with the start and endpoint, that’s when I duplicate it to another pad and just move the start and end… and so forth! As long as you’re not truncating the sample, you technically ending up with 16 full songs across all the pads, but with different start and endpoints.
@@BoombapArt that was a fast answer! ok, got it...tried it by right mouse click, copy and paste 2-16...Greetings from Germany
What desk do you have? Looking to get a new one
Right now I have Autonomous sit/stand legs with a top called “Hilver” from IKEA
Did they ever add the ability to chop from the hardware with the Mikro MK3? If not, that's a serious oversight. Didn't see you chop anything in this video... just shows your chops done.
Don’t quote me on this, but I’m sure you can “chop” from the controller.. using slice mode. I haven’t been using the Mikro that much because I already had the MK3 when they released it. The way I “chop” my samples is to duplicate the source pad and move the start & end point till I’m happy with my “chops”.
Yo check it! I can't figure out why my midi keyboard is triggering two groups in Maschine at the same time. If I have drums on group 1 and playing keys on group 2, I'm also hearing the drum sounds. Any ideas?
I bet you have both groups set to the keyboard you’re using? Quick solution, just set one of the groups to default and you will not hear it. The best way is to set all the groups to individual channels. What keyboard are you using?
@@BoombapArt akai mpk mini mk3. It's new to me. I typically use the M32, but wanted my mobile setup to fit in my backpack.
Have you ever use the MPC? If not, why do you prefer the MK3?
I had the 2000xl a couple of years ago.. unfortunately with a broken fader and a screen full of stripes.. so I never got into the mpc workflow, so I sold it. Ever since I bought the MK3 it just felt really easy to make beats..
@@BoombapArt Excellent. I feel like the MPC is just a DAW in a Box. Very similar to what I could do in Logic Pro.
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 I guess that’s the thing with standalone gear, not needing a computer.. mpc, Maschine+, digitakt, mc101-707-MV1 etc.. it’s liberating at times just you and the machine
@@BoombapArt I like the MC101 for its portability but I hate that it doesn’t have a port to allow you to plug in an instrument.
How do you link the two midis up please? And in what DAW/ production platform!?
I’m using Maschine software
Would you mind running a very quick demo!? On how to link etc? Thanks so much in advance ☺️
Sure, Imma keep that in mind. It’s nothing magical going on, sure I can probably set an individual midi channel for each gear, but I haven’t. Once I switch a group I can play what’s in that group with both devices, and the only thing I need to switch with the keyboard is the input settings from “manual” to “drumkit” I think it’s called.. if I wanna play my samples across the keyboard instead of one sample chromatically.
So I saw a video that showed you can’t chop samples on Koala and then send to the MC101 all through the IPhone. What’s your thoughts on this process?
That’s cool, never used Koala though. For me personally, I rarely sample YT/Spotify.. I prefer sampling vinyl. Not sure what goes faster, chopping on the computer or in koala and import. 🤷🏼♂️
@@BoombapArt Too be honest I rarely sample. I play keys, guitar and bass. I usually just learn the chords and use tape effects and filter to make it sound old. 😂 Then I write the song and record it. I love the idea of sampling but struggle to get started.
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 One way is to make your own samples with guitar, bass etc.. then sample yourself 😁
@@BoombapArt Yeah I am going to start doing that more. Right now I just record into BeatMaker 3 on the IPad. I can record in and REsample the riff I play.
@@BoombapArt I want to do that with the SP404 but it isn’t easy to chop samples and I don’t want to just buy a box for effects. I have a ton of effects.
Hey bro, what is this rack behind you? (The one with angled shelves)
That’s a shoe shelf from IKEA 👊🏻
@@BoombapArt thx 😉
@80slover85 it’s called PLATSA
Hi Bro What will i do if may sample will be play on my computer. How can i record and detect it?Thanks
I’ve always had troubles with sampling from the computer directly into the Maschine.. but if you’re on your computer, it’s probably easier to just download the song and then import.
@@BoombapArt what if its a full song and subject for chopping?it is possible? Thanks
@@langcoo7976 if it’s a full song you chop it up inside Maschine 😊
@@BoombapArt It is the same process shown on your uploaded video? Thanks
Pretty much! Besides you drag your downloaded song directly onto the first pad instead of sampling it in..
Im planning to buy akai mpk mk3 then someone is selling to me this maschine micro mk2 as 2nd hand and I know I should buy a new one like akai mpk mk3, but is it worth it to take the maschine micro mk2 ? the seller/owner will transfer the license if ever.
Wow, that’s a tricky one. Do you use a DAW at the moment?.. how much for the Mikro MK2 compared to the Akai?
@@BoombapArt Yes, Im using garageband, FL 20 and Ableton .. The akai mpk mk3 brand new here is $147 and the 2nd hand maschine micro mk2 deal is $90..
@@c-tzemthebeatmaker OK, hmm.. I have no experience with with Mikro MK2, but I do like the Mikro MK3.. but in this case I would go with the Akai or save up for the Mikro MK3. What exactly would you get besides the MK2+license, any other NI products?
@@BoombapArt well I don't hv any products or account in Native Instrument but I do have others like arturia and IK multimedia.
Well ..hmm I better get the akai and save more money for maschine mk3. Thanks a lot for your time, appreciated it.
hey man, is it still worth to get a mikro in 2021
Sup man! I think so, even with the billion options in various price ranges I think the Mikro is a good piece of hardware to get into the pad game! 👊🏻
@@BoombapArtI'm doing fine, thnx for askin! and also, tysm for replying man
do you know the name of the sample?
Yes I do 0:40 ... but I never give away my samples like that.. no offense!
ok thanks anyway
how do i speed up a sample
Either pitch up or time stretch
@@BoombapArt thank you. I'll try that
@@Swag_on100 no problem my friend! Personally I never time stretch, I pitch up n down to make my samples fit my BPM.
@@BoombapArt is pitching better?
@@Swag_on100 I guess that comes down to personal taste.. and the hardest part is finding that sweet spot how low/high your pitch is to make it fit your bpm.. I often chop smaller bits, and that makes it easier when pitching.
Wheres the beat ?
Right here.. now available anywhere else at this point. ☕️👊🏻
I'm very disappointed in Mikro MK3. Chopping samples is terrible :( chopping with mikro mk2 was way more creative and faster.. Huge downgrade from mikro mk2. I hope there's is an update coming..
I totally get that. I know someone commented their workflow, but for me working mostly with the MK3 it’s night and day compared with the Mikro. We’ll see what’s up their sleeve, an updated Mikro with bigger screen, who knows 🤷🏼♂️
@@BoombapArt if I've got it right, in the MK3, the ways to chop and flip samples are more versatile and can be done manually with pads like it should be done.. Flipping samples is why I love making beats! Should've watched the tutorials in youtube BEFORE I bought it :)
Yes that’s correct, with two big screens with visual representation of the sample, knobs to dial in your start and end points etc..
