    A great video. Well done. Back in the mid to late 70's I was on the Skier's Sportshop skateboard team. They brought in the first big half pipe to Edmonton. We could not ride it as we were compressing and decompressing at the wrong time. One of Skier's slalom racing coaches saw what we were doing and translated a slalom turn into the transition of the ramp. No one else was riding halfpipes that we knew of so we had to learn from a skiing coach. That's why I like this video so much. Also, where you point your eye's and upper body/hips is where you will go.
    Just for fun, you can see grandpa using these techniques long boarding at 4.04 on this video:
    czcams.com/video/JwZB1mlTk5Y/video.html
    and for more punishment go to 1.14 and 1.30 on this video:

    99 out of 100 electric skateboard riders will be unable to utilize this information simply because they believe hipster stance with the front foot at 45 degrees or pointing straight forward is acceptable and their body will not be able to maneuver properly with that leg out of position.
    SHOUT OUT TO COREY... looking cool AF even when you ran into the grass :)

    • @john2605
      @john2605 Před 3 lety

      It's not a hipster stance, it's the proper foot position for riding a board at mid to high speed. There's a reason why downhill skaters don't skate with a closed stance like this guy.

    • @dumwaldo
      @dumwaldo Před 3 lety

      @@john2605 moja even says it himself at 4:45 in the video, your feet should be parralel. you have only proven my point about most people being incapable of accepting this professional advice.
      you are entirely wrong.high speed downhill skaters turn both feet forward keeping their feet pointing in the same direction. they might turn their back foot to execute a slide but not for general riding.
      if your feet are pointing in different directions then you are in fact doing it wrong.

    • @john2605
      @john2605 Před 3 lety

      @@dumwaldo "professional advice" lol. This is beginner advice if anything. I've been skating for over 20 years all different styles, I have boards that would absolutely smoke the Raptor 2. Skating is not snowboarding, there are two independently moving trucks involved and that completely changes the dynamic of where your weight should be distributed and how your feet should be positioned as opposed to snowboarding.
      By all means though ride like this guy says, I'm sure you'll have fun. If you ever want to learn to ride for real then study downhill skaters, their feet position and their weight distribution. There's a reason actual pros don't stand on a skateboard board like this.

    • @dumwaldo
      @dumwaldo Před 3 lety

      @@john2605 “actual pros” keep their feet pointing in the same direction. If their front foot gets turned forward, SO DOES THEIR BACK FOOT!
      What I am saying is backed up by the professional in the video and I freely invite anybody reading this to watch any raw run videos and see that downhill longboarders turn BOTH feet forward and keep their feet in a parallel position.

    • @john2605
      @john2605 Před 3 lety

      @@dumwaldo My argument was with your assertion that a 45 degree front foot is bad foot position. Your rear foot is constantly adjusting and should be opening on heel side and closing on toe side turns, so saying it should remain parallel is ridiculous.
