- - Hi guys, how is everyone doing? Today with my co-host Mike we are
going to check and review the brand new board Jetsurf Titanium DFI 2020.
- What's up champions! I hope you survived the coronovirus lockdows
well and ready to get back to the water. I am a big fan of electric
jetboards and super excited that Jetsurf is finally shipping Jetsurf
Electric! You can check my review of Jetsurf electric on our channel!
So my first question is , if electric is the future why would anyone
want a petrol surfboard?
- Well electric might be the future, but we are living in reality..
And the reality is - this petrol board is almost 2 times lighter, it
rides two times longer and also much faster than electric with a
maximum speed of 64 km/!
- Yeah but what about all the pollution and noise?
- Well it depends how you look at it. How much would such a small
board pollute compared to jetski or a motor boat? What about the
pollution done when the batteries are produced and utilized? The bottom line is
pollution is minimal, it has a new low emission engine that meets the
new european regulations. Well It's true it's more noisy than
electric, however some of the models have a new silencer that reduces
noise to the 59 decibel level. Don't get me wrong it's still noisy but
if you ride far enough, it's almost silent for people on the
shore. Personally i take my waterproof walkman and listen to the music, so the
noise is no issue.
- Alright but how reliable is jetsurf? Do they break a lot?
- Very reliable.. The new jetsurf boards were tested in the toughest
conditions - from the fast adrenaline races in motosurf world cup to
the epic giant waves in Nazare.. Basically, after 10 years of
perfection by Martin Sula and his team, it's as good as it gets.
Titanium board features a new 2 STROKE 100 CC ENGINE DFi - a digital
fuel injection which gives much better riding time and the throttle
response for fast turns and jumps.
- Does it have an alternator?
- No, The Titanium engine was designed for racing with maximum speed
and does not
recharge the battery like in Jetsurf Adventure+ model, however the
battery is enough for 150 starts or 3 hours of non-stop riding! The
board was designed specifically for quick races and maximum
performance, not for long exploring like Adventure+ models.
- It's all good but what are the disadvantages of the petrol board?
- Well the petrol boards are not allowed in some of the lakes in
Europe, however you can take it on the plane and travel around the
world, participating in the motosurf world cup events and meet other
riders, while you can't fly with electric.
Personally I think Electric is great for rentals, but for personal use
I would always prefer a lighter board with a longer riding time rather
than carrying a heavy board to get just 30 minutes of fun.
- Yeah but you can get extra batteries!
- Which is another 15 kg to carry! this whole board with gasoline is
almost same weight as one battery!
- Good point. So who would choose titanium?
- I think titanium is the best choice for people who crave for real speeds,
maximum performance and plan to compete in motosurf world cup events.
Race DFI is best for wave riding, jumping and tricks.. Jetsurf
Electric and Adventure plus is perfect for rentals and casual riders
- Alright, i cant wait to try it out! Lets get to the water!
- Wait it's my line! lets get to the water!!
- Lets go!

great and informative review!
Thank you kindly!
2021 Titanium has a new shape and a lot of new features! Check our review!
I owned a mako slingshot 2017, moved to a carb gp100 2017 model and loved the jetsurf brand. I now have 2 dfi race boards we use in the sea, following the guide of the flush after each run to clear the salt deposits, a spray using a better than wd40 to repel and keep the engine clean and a charge ready to go. One thing mike has not mentioned and I felt is worth stating is the running cost of a dfi. For £3 I can ride for over 1 hour which compared to a jetski or boat is so much cheaper. Having 2 dfi I can rescue using the other board in case of issue. I picked up some seaweed Inthe jetdrive so I stopped and did a check and did not wish to continue until a full clear out of the seaweed. I called my son over with the other dfi and he trolled me in slow speed as I held his foot, my board handle under my shoulder so I towed it in. The conditions were bad that day and alot of floating seaweed clumps. Race dfi is a amazing board and I own 2 of them as I get more fun from taking these out than a expensive holiday for the family that would only last 1 week. There is one concern...we now have 2 mike zeds......hehe
Well said Max!
thank you for another informative video, as usual. would you be able to make a video comparing the Mako Slingshot with Jetsurf dfi model? espically focusing on the dfi engine and a carbortator engine?
thank you in advance
Thank you for your kind words Boyo!
I try to avoid direct comparison of different brands to avoid offending anyone and also to help the industry grow I stay independent from any brand. I think it's obvious that DFI engine is much better solution comparing to carburator, it became much more reliable, much more responsive on throttle and the riding time is almost 2 times longer.
The only disadvantage is that we have to charge DFI models after each use while carb model you could charge just once a week, it did not drain the battery as fast as DFI.
ok... i understand that u do not want to get on manufactor's bad side. but could u then do a review and comparison between the old mako slingshot & the 2020 mako slingshot? especially focusing on motor relieability and upgrades of the board?
I offered mako interview to talk about the new features but they did not respond, I assume they are still in the covid pause stage. From what I saw, they improved the issues of the old model, such as shaft, straps and changed the position of the gas tank entrance (it used to be on on side but now it's inside like in jetsurf). But all in all, DFI technology seems a step forward in the right direction.
Lit!!!! ✨✨✨✨✨
thanks!!!
Another great and informative video. You mentioned that you use headphones. Are the waterproof headphones compatible when using a helmet? What’s the brand and model ?
Thank you! I use waterproof sony walkman
thx another great video and great board. what are the differences of DFI RACE and Titanium?
The exhaust system is different. Titanium is optimized for speed and performance.
While RACE DFI has a silencer and better for waves and jumps!
@@JetSurfingNation , I'm about to purchase one of these, but can you elaborate a little more on 'better for waves and jumps'? It appears they are the same except the exhaust which allows the titanium to go faster at the higher sound output. I don't plan to race, but, you never know...and don't want to make the wrong choice.
Jason... Are you going to use it for waves and jumps (pick Race DFI) or are you going to use it for racing on the flat lake (pick Titanium)
Great review, thanks for that!! Q. I've noticed several YT vids of petrol powered surfboards that the surfers typically wear trials helmets..is this really necessary? ..when surfing I'm in my element wearing only boardshorts and rash vest! Q2. are there any wireless petrol models?
Cheers 🍻
1. The helmet is recommended if you ride fast and carve hard.
2. Wireless is for beginners/casual riders in electric jetboards like radinn. The fast race boards need a wire as 3rd level of control to carve and turn hard. You cant really turn hard without it

New JETSURF TITANIUM DFI 2020 | Tests, review and tips | Petrol vs electric jetboard?
Hello Mike on the jetsurf titanium can you strap the air tube?
Yes but to learn it’s better to use Jetsurf electric with a tube

If you are from Spain check Sotogrande shop by Wayne, here www.jetboardlimited.com/
Thats great but can you please lower the price of the boards....they are almost the price of a new car!
I’m not setting the prices:) the market does
@@JetSurfingNation yeah there are other brands but JetSurf still has high prices. What's the cost of making one?
I want them at least under $10,000
there are some jetsurf boards used under 10k...
Goran show me a new car that sells the cost of these🤦♂️ these are 1/3 the cost of a new car
