the dont break the chain habit had kept me sober! 4 years 1 month and 12 days! 🙌🏻
🎊🤛👏☕️
You rock! Good job!
It's kept me sober going on 20 months so far!
Way to go, one day at a time works! Until the thoughts of alcohol consumption leave us.
Well done, really! Keep going 😊
If you want to master a habit, the key is to start with repetition, not perfection. You don’t need to map out every feature of a new habit. You just need to practice it. This is the first takeaway of the 3rd Law: from Atomic Habits
Super bro
Yeah, the best thing you can do is just start.
Bruce Lee said... I do not fear the man that knows 10,000 moves but I fear that has practiced 10,000 times the same move
My oldest daughter graduated high school last month. One of her friends moms bought all the kids this book.
That was a nice gift
I switched from watching all the details about this horrific murder in Idaho to watching your channel and I cannot thank you enough for switching my mindset to a more positive outlook I was staying up most nights, terrifying that some stranger was gonna walk in my door and murder me and my family and now I am back to myself or feeling more like myself so thank you!!!
Gave you may not have graduated high school but your level of Intelligence And emotional intelligence is beyond genius. I have ADHD and series executive dysfunction And I have learned so much from you and continue to learn I got excited when I saw you were covering James clear atomic habits and I just wanted to say thank you because your videos are changing my entire life. I’m actually crying right now as I write this you’ve been such an impact on me
That’s awesome to hear I really appreciate it
Thank you Gabe!
Him not graduating HS is a good lesson-- Society places HUGE emphasis on academic performance. I wonder how many rock stars were 'failures' in school? Or those with gifts of compassion? Clearly Gabe is not a failure either. We need to rethink our expectations of success for our young people.
I too have ADHD . Thank you for sharing this!
Lol, I noticed Joshua Becker and the Minimal Mom. Both good.
Minimal mom is fantastic!
Love that book! One of my habits is--trying to actually finish what I start. Started Atomic Habits about a year ago, and although I LOVE it, I haven't gotten through it yet. Still trying though! I keep it on my nightstand by my bed. 🤣 Borrowed it from a friend --I started reading when I was housesitting for them and they don't have wi-fi. Or cell reception. Gonna house sit for a week this Saturday so I just might finally finish it! And leave it there. One year later. My smartphone distracts me too much at home.
Atomic Habits would tell you to read a chapter (they’re short!) every day, until the book is done. You don’t need to read the book; you just need to read a chapter. Every day. (And when you’re done with it, start another book!) To deal with your smartphone’s distraction, try something like removing the apps that distract you. I cut way back on social media by removing FB/Twitter from my phone. Or better yet, put your phone somewhere not within immediate reach! If you have to stand up to get it every time you want your phone, you’ll use it less (“Make it difficult”).
Since your here listen to the audio 3day I was done
Excuses kill your life. Be an adult and do it.
Initially I had a hard time watching your videos because I'm super unhappy with parts of my life. I've gotten over that (mostly) and you are inspiring me to do better and that the future can be brighter.
I have found having coffee w God every morning is Fantastic🥰.. AND... when everything is a mess... Always start putting the Focus on your Health FIRST... it's the #1 thing we have TOTAL control over... AND it totally helps all other areas fall into place🤩 when we feel better and think better... we are STRONGER to make necessary changes and better able to handle the stress of things we can not.
Go for a walk in the morning. You can talk to God Each day I think of a positive word to focus on. Example believe, love, peace then I write the word on a paper so during the day I look at the word and focus on it.
Meditate or do some yoga (real yoga, not some kinda of "stretch in weird positions with your dog" Westernized yoga)
Also, another great YT channel you should check out is Cole Hastings. A lot of his stuff is speaking towards men but most of it can apply to women as well.
8:21 It takes 21 days to form a habit and 28 to keep it.
But the difficulty is not the motivation
The strength is the discipline
You don't need a exact moment to start.
You just need to start.
Start small and repeat.
I just started following you and I love how much you cover and how it's all positive and easy to do. I appreciate you
I just got this book!! It was recommended, and I'm excited to read this - especially after watching/listening to you talk about how this book made a positive impact on you. Thanks for sharing!
Loved this video! Refreshing and hugely motivating. Thanks so much Gabe Bult!!!
I feel satisfied every time you share idea’s. I’m in now. Thanks so much!
I got excited because I think I just saw a whole line of Hardy Boys books on your shelf. I just want to share that your shooting/filming style is really refreshing. Thank you for putting so much effort in making these videos. It really shows and it makes a difference.
This is excellent! One of your best - Thank you!!
I love Atomic Habits! I think Habit Stacking is one of my favorite take-aways from that book. It really works for me!
Brilliant!!! James Clear would be very happy how you've implemented these, thank you!
Hi Gabe, I have broken the chain of eating out have not done that since 2015 which is 7 years now. I do not even miss getting food at fast food places once a person changes that eating habit it can be a life changing and never want to pick that up again of a course it helps not to hang around people who are addicted to going too fast-food places. I am working on myself to do thinks to keep my house cleaner I been doing declutter for about 10 years now, and my place feels so much better now. I never heard of the book Atonic Habits. Thank you, for your video on Atomic Habits and making it super clear to grasp what you are saying in your videos, I been practicing writing clearing and be more specific. Keep up with great clear videos.
Atomic Habits is the best book on habits that I have ever read. I also highly recommend the author James Clear’s newsletter, with lots of inspirational ideas, quotes and more stuff about habits.
You watch the minimal mom! She got me on the road to minimalism then I found your channel amongst others! 😁
She definitely has great stuff!
This was a great video, thank you. It definitely helped me understand where to get started.
I am currently reading the book and I can visibly see the changes in my mindset and life. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you Gabe! Great video! Appreciate you!
Never miss twice!!!
This is the really practical note to get back to the system I set up although I once brokek it!!!Thank you for your good work for the audience around the world^^
I absolutely loved this video! I have the audio book of Atomic Habits. I feel this video compliments it well. Thank you for making this video!
Great video Gabe! Thats a great book and you get the bests point of it. Cheers from Brazil!
I'm currently reading that book right now. I've been highlighting things to go back to and re read over again.
Great lessons. Atomic habits is a book I listen to probably once per year and I always take away something to implement again 😊
Thanks for the advices! It inspired me to read Atomic habits. Also your videos are very authentic! Good luck with your goal of getting Tesla!
Want to make a video about goal setting and this is the most useful information I could find! Thanks for the inspiration ❣️
Thank you so much for this video and summary of the book 📖!
I learnt heaps 🧠💡!
Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Man, you said it! I was looking for something to encourage me today. And when you said, you do the things you do because of who you are, I said Heck Yeah! I'm ready to meal prep and work out.
Thank you for the video, Gabe and team)
I just discovered your channel this year, and I really like your advice.
I like your advice. It's easy. That's the trick. Thank you for your helpful content.
Amazing video! Probably the most life changing book I have read so far. Also, an important part of building habits according to me is to do 1 at a time. In the beginning I tried to make the perfect day from day 1 but you can't change your life in 1 day. Start with habits 1 at a time!
this sounds like a book I need (of course, I tell myself that with EVERY book I buy, but yeah, that's something else to work on). I am an over-planner and careful to-do list writer who can't seem to get to actually doing what's on the list. And combine that with an "all or nothing' way of thinking and cue shooting yourself in the foot repeatedly. I'm taking the weekend to clean as much as I can and make a clean slate (or at least FAR cleaner one) to actually be able to create better habits. It's "the doing" that stops me. And every time I get geared up and ready, I get sick, or someone has a problem, and all my plans go by the wayside. Self-sabotage sucks, and expecting perfection too soon is a recipe for disappointment.
Yeah, definitely gonna get this one now. It'll be one of the first I read for the new year.
Gosh, I was so happy that little fuzzy finally jumped ship at 8:21! 😝
Now I can rewind and rewatch the video and learn something instead of watching it for 2+ minutes! 🧐
Thank you for your video! Helps with motivation!
Great video! Thanks for sharing
I take meds for PTSD. If there is junk I'll get up and binge on it in the night and not even remember it! If there isn't junk around I sleep! It's such a weird thing that my subconscious clearly knows there is junk around! When I cut out juice and soda years ago I decided that I was going to drink at least half my water each day before I could have this sweet treat, I naturally quit wanting juice and soda and easily drink 8 chips of water daily without even thinking about it now. I have a cup of water before my feet even hit the floor in the morning. It's great to naturally just not want the extra calories in juice and soda. I lost 70lbs by not buying the food that I'll binge on in the night and by making water a priority!
Thank you! “Never miss twice “ Mind blowing !
Thanks! This is very encouraging!
Another great video Gabe, thank you.
“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” I like this principle. This book goes great with that mindfulness workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels. Being mindful and setting good habits is paramount.
Thanks for this video. I like the aspect of not missing it twice.
Best video I've ever seen on this subject, congrats
Love to see how far the channel has come. I remember when you were first starting out. Thanks for all of the great content 💯
Your videos genuinely motivate me so much. GREAT WORK
Gabe, You Rule, Love it
Love and Rainbows
I love that you're watching the Minimal Mom! ❤ Hers is one of my favorite channels!
I have read the Atomic Habits and you summarize it really good. Hope you can make another video on how you actually do your habits. Cheers!
First video and subscribed. You are totally innovative and creative in telling the same story in a good different way. 😅👏
Love your story about not being a great reader (out load) 😊 Very relatable 👍💕
This was what I needed. Techniques
again are helpful. THANKS.
This was excellent. Thank you.
So helpful thank you!!!
I have a super cool idea! Maybe you could present/recap more of your books! ☆
I would appreciate that so much. ♡
This is a great break down of AH good job
Good!
Thanks for these valuable insights
I love your videos! You get the messages across so well. 💕
This is an awesome video! Ty.
I wrote down which classes I'm taking at the gym each week to get specific,
I also noticed in my thinking that McDonald's is such a minuscule decision for a drink at the moment, but that tiny little thought can turn into a meal and a habit easily!
Very nice video. Love the ending . Please keep up
Did anybody else noticed that spec of ceiling in my hair? I almost reshot half the video because of that.
No
No. Are you trying to make us watch the video again? 😉Great video btw!
I thought it was gray? I’m seriously greyaphobic! Better you than me!
See so many Pastors who turn gray fast with stress, slow down!
I am glad you kept the footage. I was like hmm..does he have something in his hair? But then was so happy that you are a normal human like the rest of us.
I was wondering what that was! I also wondered if you were tempted to re shoot.
Great video this video quality was amazing, great camera angles , awesome content
Good job Gabe! I am going to read the book. :)
Consider me pushed over the edge. I am going to buy this book.
I love your videos you have inspired my beyond you know thank you soo much thank you im now out of darkness your soo positive.
Gracias, totalmente inspirador 💎
Thank you so much for sharing your honest history and challenge with reading. That is so brave and authentic. How cool is that to know that you have become so healthy and effective and successful, despite coming from challenges that could have stopped you from moving forward.
You said it perfectly !!! ❤
Always good advice x
Great stuff.
Powerful tips!!
Hey Gabe! Really enjoy your videos and having the same name, I’m very inspired 😜 question for you! How old were you when you became proficient at being consistent with your habits!
Great video... Great humour too.
Love this!
Yes to consistency with anything we want to achieve! Especially CZcams 😃
Great video thank you!
Great Content, as always!!! 👍😉
thanks brother. very informative
I started lifting barbells while watching your videos. It takes no thought to lift so I can still concentrate completely on the video. And I probably do a lot more reps than if I was paying attention to the muscle burn
Justin Agustin has lovely short and easy exercises for couch potatoes and those recuperating after illness.
Merci beaucoup !
Great filming. I love the way you move through this video. The way you step out of scene and then cross in from that side in the next scene shows a real professional concept on how to make these clips. I’m sure you will have no worries getting that Tesla if you keep up this great work!
Very impressive video, I m reading the book too .
Great advice as usually! Thanks
I just LOVE your videos! You make such good points and with so much helpful information that makes a lot sense. The way you explain it makes it more encouraging and realistic for your viewers because we can relate to you. Thank you!
Great video and I love your content!
Thank you, great advice!
I’ve listened to the audiobook Atomic Habits & have the book. I need to listen to it again.
It’s definitely a great listen
I have organically learned to do this stuff and I’m not saying that to sound uppity, but because I’ve never heard anyone articulate the ideas the same way and it’s nice to find some ~community~
Great video
Thanks for the information
Hopefully i can succeed
I read the book earlier this year. It's a great motivator. It's good to see you doing a video on it.
Good encapsulation.
I love this methodology 😊
Food/exercise/health care up several times. I would love to go plant based. Right now I am my 87 y/o father's caretaker. He eats like a five year old. It puts me in situations that I know I should not do. It also shames me to shop for him. If it was not for him, I would never visit a food vendor that involves a window and a speaker. I have not been able to figure out a system to get both of us fed doing completely different food plans. The gym taunts me every time I drive past it on my way to my dad's house.
I read the book. Awesome read!
Thank u so much
I recently read Atomic Habits and I think it’s great! I’m glad you made this vid to help motivate me to implement new systems. My greatest issue is with tracking though. How do you track them? Notebooks, apps? Could you please elaborate what you use and how you use them, thankuuuu! 😊
Putting something together on that soon!
i've read the book too and i'm almost done reading it (reading it for like 2 months because i read chapter by chapter then stop and summarise then i try to implement it in my own life)
i basically just put a habit tracker paper on my wall so i can see it everytime and get motivated by ticking it by completing the habit. if i see a day unmarked (because life gets in the way), i must complete the habit the next day because if not the habit your building will get derailed
James Clear has a habit tracker book, or you can print out and keep it in sight.
I use an app called Loop Habit Tracker which is very simple and no-frills. It also seems to have no commercial side to it - no ads. It does the job perfectly for me.
Have, you are a man of great common sense. Continue in your message!
Habit stackings is my favourite!
Awesome book. Awesome video. 😊
My new habit needs to be watch this video everyday until I get all this ideas memorized and do them.
I love it not a goal a habit.
One of your best videos
