She Has a Name! The Royal Enfield Classic 350

- Back home from my Tenerife adventure, I’m out on The Royal Enfield Classic 350 over the East Yorkshire Wolds.
It’s good to get back on my own bike, the familiar note from the exhaust, and much less vibration than the 500 I rode over in Tenerife.
Riding along I was going over possible names for her in my head. Driving towards me I saw a Morris 1000 Traveller in dark blue, just like the one my my dad had when I was a kid.
I started thinking of all the fun we had in that car, affectionally known as Betsy. Then it came to me - Betsy - that was it, She Has a Name! The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is christened Betsy.
It’s a fitting name as, just as we did in the Traveller, I love exploring the back roads, “where does that road go” must be the most used phrase when I’m out.

You're so fortunate to have such nice lanes to ride down and historic buildings to see. On the other hand, you have less-than-perfect weather... My daughter and myself took our bikes on a five-bike group ride today, following the Swan river from Perth city; bright blue skies and 28C. Had a riverside coffee in Fremantle, then home along the coast. Can't be bad, eh! 😊
Betsy is an excellent name! Wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed your Tenerife rides, especially as you say, the weather here has been diabolical! Added to which, my COPD has been playing up, preventing me from going out for a ride. Really annoying as I’ve just fitted the Kent cam…… Anyway hope you are nicely recharged after your trip, and we look forward to your future adventures!
Great bimble out and about on Betsy. Love your traffic free roads. Round here, north of Brum, most drivers are out to to run you off the road, or it seems like it!!. Thanks for the peaceful experience. Hope to get out on my Classic 350 soon. She red and chrome and called Ruby!! Lovely bike, will be following your servicing advice in the next couple of weeks. Welcome BETSY! 😊! And welcome Back home Dave. Your journey to Tenerive was very cool! But Home is Home! I was 2 years in France for work, there is a wonderfull Landscape too. But, when i was traveling back to Home, and its cloudy, and so juicy green and Brown trees coming back, and fresh air..montains. thats awsome, Home is Home!So my 350 is nameless, ATM!

Nice to watch you pootling as I'm doing the washing up. That's a cracking name for your bike, and I'm still trying to find one for mine. I live at Nth Lakes, and our lanes look like landmines have gone off....I even saw a duck swimming in a pothole yesterday. Where all our low lying fields have flooded, road dips have become fords. Tricky to navigate as they've submerged potholes too. But even in this abysmal weather our scenery from near the foot of the Pennines is stunning.
"Betsy" , diminutive of Elizabeth. Coincidence ? Such perfect countryside for the Meteor, must be a joy. Has got to be nice to see flowers, we have 30 cms of snow forecast for tomorrow in Eastern Canada. Cheers

A great ride around some stunning countryside. I will have to try the pasty’s at Fimber. You do feel the temperature drop as you make that climb to the top of the Wolds. Knew you would like the church at Givendale, when you saw it.

I have the bronze chrome one, I refer to it as Rusty (the rear wheel rim helped seal it)😊.

When I had my. B S A. Club racer. I road the back highways. Of the sierra mountains. Highway 49. All the British. Riders would meet at the soup shop for something. Good to eat. It was great fun a lot of good memories Lemay. Nelson.

Love your videos. so chilled. I will be getting a Classic 350 ISignal Sandstorm) at the end of April-Beginning of May. and i intend on doing exactly what you are doing and thats just see where random roads take my across the south downs. i am really looking forward to it

If you plan on keeping it l would put a carburetor on it so it runs much cooler so it will last longer. EFI makes bikes run hot 🔥🥵 as Hades cooking the oil. My BSA C-15 250's are nice simple bikes. Simple and easy to work on them. Reliable and dependable transportation why maintained properly. British vintage motorcycles are rebuidable forever ♾️.
