For some reason YT seems to have tanked the quality of this video. I will take a look at using different render settings next time.
Any Arma unit I've been in that took things serious enough would run drills like these once in a while, both for newer people and for refreshers on more seasoned peeps. Because it's a game it's so easy to not want to bother with these kinds of things, even if you're experienced enough, but getting it drilled in is nice for exactly why you said in the video. It may be a game but it does simulate real life military well enough that using the correct tactics works as well it does in real life. Not having to think about it and just doing it not only makes it so much easier since it works but can feel pretty good that you and your team are working together so well.

Well this is the point of wargames on PC of Tabletop. They are not complex simulation of mechanics. They are there to provide a reasonable environment to support tactics being practiced. I am very big on doctrine. Too many players claim they are too restrictive not allowing freedom to do what they want to do and the other players will know what your going to do. To me doctrine is like an expression of the army's personality and forces you to apply tactics that will get the best out of the army. It does not mean your going to text your battle plan to the enemy. It was a good introduction on basic battle drill, keep producing them. I have seen a lot of players peel to the front only to realise they have now blocked the line of sight of their light machine gun, oops. 😬
