  • Flashlights and Weaponlights are rightly acknowledged to be necessary equipment for tactical operations, home defense, and law enforcement duties. Often overlooked, however, is the great utility and safety provided by a quality tactical flashlight when carried every day in ordinary aspects of life. If you are not currently in the habit of including a tactical flashlight as part of your everyday carry gear, you are missing some tremendous benefits and may be putting yourself at unnecessary risk. It's time to add an edc flashlight to your every day carry gear!

Awesome video Mr. Barnett, I love the quote "When in doubt, get it out, my family's philosophy is you should have a flashlight of excellent quality on or within reach 24-7, 365, no excuses, I know I use my lights daily.
Thank you for a great video and God Bless.

A good REAL tactical flashlight is an essential tool. Knowing how to properly use it and getting some practice with it is good to. Carry it day and night and always keep it in the same pocket. I live in a nice area and have been attacked many times. There are a lot of bad people in this world. Always be aware of your surroundings. Be prepared and stay safe!

I started carrying a flashlight when I was a child, Though it only put out ~5 lumens (mag solitaire) it was very useful.
I enjoy these videos and would use an Elzetta for a weapon light, I just wish that there was a moonlight mode (0.1 - 1 lumens) for close up at night. It would end up being a wasted click in self defence though so it is probably best left for other general use flashlights.

100% agree! I carry one everyday and always have one within reach at home. I tell my wife to always have hers bc it's truly your first line of defense. It lets a would be attacker know that you see them and will make them second guess coming closer.
I can't wait for your company to start making pistol mounted weapon lights similar to the X400. I think Elzetta makes the best handheld lights on the market at a competitive price (much better than a Surefire EB1/2). I'll buy your pistol mounted light the week it comes out.

I have never handled or seen one of your lights, but I will definitely check them out. I do carry a SureFire flashlight every day with my daily carry items. Great video for civilians. I’ve been teaching this for years.

Elzetta will go toe to toe with Surefire for abuse. I own an Alpha and a Bare Bones. Hands down, AWESOME! very silent clicky switches. Momentarily and Constant on.

Just saw this video. It is excellent straight talk with no paranoia thrown in for sensationalism. Just frank points. I have definitely made the decision to EDC a quality flashlight (and to stop using my IPhone light). I appreciate the nudge that I needed.

Excited to get an Elzetta Bravo with M6 Head and special drop-in and Thyrm Switchback. Soon I'll get a tank in my hand. Will get seperate AVS Head afterwards for extreme durability if needed.

I love my Elzetta Bravo B343, really beast. The quality of the flood lens is excellent, it is truly a wall of light but still have the blinding capability at close range.

Glad the Bravo B343 works for you! One of the great things about our lenses is that they are field replaceable. Just unscrew the bezel, remove the current lens and drop in another. Its good to have one of each kind handy for all situations. Thanks for choosing Elzetta!

Good video, though I would only want to use a light with momentary options, if possible. Meaning, non-clicky.

I lived in Malaysia, a Draconian no-gun country. We cannot carry a gun so I personally carry some sort of non-lethal defensive weapon like tactical flashlight.

I used to go to various parts of Asia and have been to Malaysia numerous times. Like you, I ALWAYS had a flashlight on me. Another reason besides defense, when it is dark out, I use it not only to light my way when walking, I want to also be seen so I don't get hit by a vehicle.

eric bokern if you are using a CR123A battery, output should gradually diminish giving you plenty of notice that it's time to change the battery. If you are using a rechargeable battery, you may not have this luxury. (Only USA-Made CR123A batteries should be used for critical applications.)

I was using a RCR123. I have now switched to a non-rechargable, will see how that works out.

You're right. ALL those instances and statistics on crime are all made up. NO ONE is out to hurt you. ALL those youtube videos of people being attacked are ALL just actors. Road rage NEVER happens. NO ONE is out to rob you. YOU KNOW the real reality in people's lives and ALL the rest of us are just some paranoid "tacticool" silly people. Wow, if only people would listen to you living in Mayberry R. F. D. Hey, say high to paranoid Barny for me. He doesn't ever need that one bullet.

I'm sorry but I don't see why I need to carry a light, I dont find I need those utility functions within arms reach and wile having a gun mounted flashlight at night would be very helpful I'd rather just keep it in my truck for any other situation

Have you tried carrying a torch on you for a week or so? Not necessarily an Elzetta either, a Convoy, Thrunite, Olight, Fenix, whatever, as long as it's decent.
