This game has a lot of potential. With better UI and Art Direction, and some polishment to the code, I can see this game being really good.
Polishment
Free assets, super unpolished, not great looking... And yet the core mechanics are interesting enough to grasp both you and I both. It's in its very early stages of development, so it's very possible none of the visuals will even be the same when it's released, I can think of several games that look absolutely nothing like their alpha builds, so that's not really something to consider for me personally.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on this game. They had a great idea with the mechanics.
You have a lot of patience to go for as long as you did with this one. I'll say this... it shows some potential.
It's like you're programming! That said, there are some definite funny moments. My favorites being the gremlin wizard sounds like a squeaky toy, and "ahh :) AHH:(" got me good. These are definitely just because of the stage it's at, but I appreciate them nonetheless

Maybe because it's just a demo but i decided to try it out and terrain isn't randomly generated, i got 2 same maps in a row after getting stuck and restarting because i had nowhere to move.
I miss flash games.

Wow, they've so reworked this a lot since then. It's dumped the anime art and everything. It currently looks so much more professional now.
These fonts and assets seem recycled from other generic (in appearance) games. Are they from a public/free license source or something?
They are very likely purchased or free assets, yes. I know with 100% certainty that the ability icons are, so I can only imagine that extends to other elements of the game.
