That last duel was literally the most OPTIMAL hand and draws you can ever get with old school Six Sams 💀

Plasma, dreadmaster, dogma and use trade in, allure of darkness, d draw. Fill in rest with draw cards and mallet. Easy Exodia!!!

Or at least as a regular 2 weeks event. I don't get how they made these fun formats as 3-day trials, while your typical "big" events are ranked 2.0 and extra deck festival no.136847
@@yonray2 You're entirely correct. The issue then becomes twofold: 1. They have to admit modern yugioh is fucking ass, and 2. How do they TRULY monetize older game modes when they never get new cards added to their pools? I'm assuming it's why they haven't brought back N/R mode...easily the best one but it gets more cards added to the pool all the time.
This was back when I first started playing yugioh at a LGS. Synchros were cool and new-ish. I used to play yugioh with people from the pojo forums!
That's where I brewed my first deck, gravekeepers! It was so awesome. Such a fun deck, and it was heavily underplayed at my LGS, so I came in like a dark horse.

I played Blackwings for this event, with a dash of Vayu Turbo. As much as I hate Synchros, Blackwings do a ton besides just spamming those things. And even their unique Spell/Traps(and Icarus Attack, which was designed for but not unique to them) can be kind of ridiculous when used right, and would probably be busted if any of them were searchable. Delta Crow-Anti Reverse(Note: "Reverse" is the OCG term for Sets) being a hand trap version of Duster(although only against Sets so Floodgates will stay up) is potentially insane since no one will ever expect it and the format is full of set plays even among things like Treeborn Frog and Gorz that require no sets to use.
I love those explanations of what the game used to be like back in the day, setting your heavy storm to bait your opponent into setting their stuff only to flip it up, wow
I've always mentioned it before, Yugioh would probably have more popularity if there was more organized formats.
For most games opening up different versions didnt bring in any new players but split the existing playerbase so everyone had less people to play with in their version.
@@wubo88 if you're comparing duel links and this then yes because those 2 have completely different rule sets, fields, and so on. I'm talking being able to keep stuff like the tryout duels and other popular events as permanent modes so people can relax and play lower tier decks without encountering the OP stuff in regular ranked. This can work in irl TCG too if people are familiar with the ban lists and what they need to do for those formats.

I like how the best possible combo is summoning 3 monsters from hand ending on a one negate board without searching 18 new cards. Glorious.

2010 was actually when I first stopped playing, I started on 2006, so my memory lane trip was on the previous time travel event; with my awful mash up deck and my beloved phoenix of Nepththys.
I never had a deck at 2010. I stopped playing the game at that time. My old deck was a Neo Daedalus mashup (with the summoning condition misprint) but I think that if I were to build something at that 2010, it would be a Deck Destruction deck (Neddle Worm deck). I'm currently using it at the event and I have been clapping consistently.

2010 decklist in MDMeta where? I remember there decklist in MDMeta in tryout 2004. I'm not really familiar with Edison, never play in this format. And I cannot spend my craft point because unlike the last GOAT tryout, the Edison decks are more expensive. I wanna see if there some cheaper option.

You can deffo ftk with an Exodia deck in this event. Sure it can be a little bricky, but you have toon table of contents, triple trade in for toon blue-eyes white dragon, magical library, bamboo sword, 3 upstart goblin. Did it a couple of times but mostly they just scooped before I got it off
That first duel Exodia deck was a bit on the slower side xd

It's (Ka gay muu sha). Its a retain/updated version of a normal monster by the same name. Kagemusha of the Blue Flame. He is a body double for Shein, the Lord of the Six Samurai. His effect is meant to represent a body double being assassinated or some thing of the nature saving the true Lord. Kagemusha has many versions, including an XYZ monster, if you care to look it up.

I've really been loving this 2010 event! that said, this version of six sam was busted back then and was right to get nerfed. The power level of the loaner stardust dragon deck on the other hand was pretty much perfect for me.
Just fell asleep 5 min into the video then heard Dragunity and the rest is history -> Great Video!
I was too broke back then to play the top stuff 😂 so I’d show up to locals with the spice, I had a quick draw dandydragon deck, I tried to make koaki meiru work, I think my best performing deck was machine gadgets tho

played about 20 duels, literally all of them were dragunity, all OP, 0 fun, 0 creativity, everyone following top tier meta, coincidentally all of the opp players had chinese/japanese names
Shit I just went against Hero then made a fake exodia deck and everyone just surrendered when they saw what I was using.

I just played Warrior toolbox and that was fun enough on its own. Would love a permanent format with this banlist, but Konami just doesn’t care about non-Japanese fans

Played against 10 different decks already instead of the same decks. Nice being able to play instead of watching all meta decks play solitare till they lock you out with so many negates and hand traps

These time wizard events just dont work lmao. Burn and stun still exists and its worse then (I’m one of the stun players 😂). They gonna have to be creative and not just send us the exact list from past formats.

Wasting resources on UR's that'll be banned/limited 2-3 days later is a terrible thing to do.
Free the banned cards. Cards like Giant Trunade will never be legal again so there's no point other than stupidity and greed for Komoney to block banned cards unless you buy them.
Just do Heart of the Underdog Exodia. It only needs 1 SR in Exodia the Forbidden One to do.

Nobody play gk. so sad. Gk also one of the best deck during Edison format also the most hated deck all time as this stun deck of Edison format. It so nasty their will play royal tribute, stun your with skill drain and summon limit your like all time together your no access to Gy at all so of pot of avarice is totally useless. Gk will guarantee play floodgate package and this equal to modern day Eldlich. Sadly your need to play necrovalley at 3 this one is UR. If konami don want to make it permenant mode, at least try make it as monthly event at least 2 week. This way better then dual trial only 3 day. The 2004 and 2010 time travel should be monthly event which will be great over duel trial.
Yu gi oh should have been always about fighting with monsters and lowering enemy LP, some combos should still be a when summonning stronger monsters and it should have been about monster summons not some complicated combos and disruptions and winning that way

I always hated synchro summoning and thought maybe this mode would change my mind. I ended hating them even more after some duels.

People who say this format was better are coping. Just as much about interrupting and negating, except instead of hand traps and Omni negate boards it’s just trap spam. The objective is the same, stop your opponent from playing, just the pace of the game is slower
It's just gonna devolve into draw as many cards as you can for exodia lol
I like that more of the Traps are on the field instead of hiding in the hand, but there's still stuff like Honest/Kalut, Gorz/Tragoedia/Battle Fader(which are at least easy to see coming), Delta Crow-Anti-Reverse(which can SOMETIMES be activated from hand), and Effect Veiler still exists at this point in time.

I think it is better today, because it is more interactive when both play on both turns. But only if you have a perfect meta deck otherwise it is unfair
