- Rachel was born into the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She knew at a very young age that the religion was not for her. She went on and lived her life not getting baptized until she was 27 years old, when her mom had cancer. She came into the religion to feel loved and excepted into her family, but she never felt that way.
“I'm happy, that my parents are happy in the organization” she shares.
I'm a recently disassociated "apostate". My wife however is still in but fortunately on the fence about enough things to give consideration to objective thought. It's a tough situation but I'm slowly pulling the blindfold off her. She loves to use the phrase "up the wazoo" and until recently didn't understand what it actually meant. I've heard her say it a bunch of times to other witnesses and they either cringed or had no idea what it meant. I would absolutely die laughing inside and had to tell her. She felt bad at first but still says it all the time and she refuses to feel bad about it. Thank you for what you do and the help you offer to people who feel trapped with nobody to go to or feel like they have nobody who cares. Love you and take care and be safe.

Hi Rachel, it was very nice to hear your experience in the organization. I'm very sorry you are dealing with cancer and issues with anxiety and depression. Do everything you can to get healthy again and enjoy your life with your kids, friends and family. You deserve it !!! It is sad what your parents are doing to you but unfortunately there is nothing we can do to change them: they are like robots "programmed" to not see or feel the damage they cause as JWs. I wish you the best in life.

I NEVER WANTED TO FIT IN ........I ALWAYS KNEW THEY WERE PHONEY !! I walked to the beat of my own drum and they couldn't stand it.
They never can stand it!! We have it pounded into our heads to never think for ourselves! Which in my older years have realized this is exactly what I've done my whole life...even as a little girl...thought for myself...which has led to the disowning and the treating different my entire life. There is more to this life and world than they have led us to believe. So much more. And beauty at that.
@@RachelDaniel43 Girl !! You just preached a sermon !! They try to drill into your head that you can't possess a single thought unless the "governing body" authorized it. It is so funny that I saw your post today because I went to a Mexican restaurant here in California and ran into a sister from a neighboring congregation from way back in the day. After she placed her order I asked her how she was doing (she and her husband were always super zealous). She said she was fine and I told her I was feeling great since the ZOOM meetings have started. I told her I didn't plan on going back to the kingdom hall..........she said that she hadn't been attending and all of her so called "friends" avoid her like the plague now !! When she sees them in the store, she said they go down a different aisle, etc......
I told her that they are the most LOVELESS organization on the planet, and she agreed.....long story short, she and her husband are fading on their own terms. I told her "me too !" She gave me the warmest hug I have ever been given. I told her that I loved her and that she will ALWAYS be my sister........in the REAL FAITH !! I told her to tell her husband that I said hello and she got her food and left........she made my day !! Jesus is good 😊.

It is a horrible feeling and I'm glad she spoke to you and was kind. This is NOT practicing what they preach, this is constant negativity and harsh judgment of others....which...isn't there only One who is supposed to be judging!?

Hi, glad you are awake. So sorry to hear of your illness. Research the suppliment Quercetin. I have very similar symptoms & am getting very definite relief with Quercetin. I dont use anything that doesnt show results. I have lost weight when starving myself didnt work. Reduces my pain & imflamation drastically. Bug bites dont over react. Have much more energy. Here is hoping the very best for you! There are people who care.

Overall a great video. Before I disassociated I've had abrupt vision change/ distortion, stress, anxiety and chest pains. I went through a bunch of tests and didn't show any physical problems. I know it's stress and anxiety. I'm a life long empath and couldn't connect to most people to be able to explain my position and feelings about things. Like I was the black sheep 80% of my life.
Same here and I'm sorry you went and are still going through it. I only help your anxiety has got better since leaving.
Talking about the experience helps to go over. It kills the recurrent thoughts and nightmares. Then as the times goes by it comes to let you.
This is a classic example of everything wrong regarding Watchtower policy.
And I am one of many unfortunately.

I am not a super emotional person....but i had tears throughout the interview...watchtower has destroyed so many people and families! Bottom line the Jehovah’s Witnesses religion is not a religion of love. For one thing God is love and that is to say he is a God of unconditional love because that is the only love there is. That religion is self deprecating and deprecating towards its members. That religion is a mind killer. It hurts the mind the,heart and the body. it’s all based on fear and manipulation. yes I am a recovering Jehovah’s Witness of 40 years. If there’s one thing I realize in that is that God is totally unconditional love as we are. We are just hiding in illusion’s. there are ultimate truths. That is to say whatever is loving is true. Love and healing for you.🙏🏼❤️

@6:49 “why couldn’t I just blindly believe?” When I became a JW, I marvelled at the blind faith of the Witnesses that I was associating with. I tried my hardest to be like them but never could get there as I used to attend a church before becoming a JW and didn’t 100% accept things blindly, e.g. I disagreed that everyone who was not a JW was a bad person. I certainly was not a bad person before converting and did my best to live according to the Bible as taught by my parents. What attracted me to the JWs was how structured they were in their approach to the Christian religion. After I woke up I realised that the born-ins were different due to deep indoctrination and not knowing anything else except JW doctrines

These was family members. One with a lot of "privileges" but forget to follow the bible on so but so many areas. All fake!!!

I can relate to what you’re saying when you say you felt like you never fit in. I didn’t grow up a JW I married in but those ladies in the hall did not like me. They pretended they liked me you know when a person is genuine and when they are faking it…. The single ladies in the hall want to get married so badly they would do almost anything to get one.
Yes! And I love honesty and realness and I did NOT find it there unfortunately. Yes, there were and still are some good hearted genuine people...but as a whole...so much hypocrisy and lying.

Thank you so much! I'm hanging in there. The tumor already grew back within months of it being removed, so I had a huge dose of radiation in December to try and kill the tumor cells. It can take up to 2 years to work so now I sit and wait and heal. Hopefully! Thank you for your kindness and I hope you have a wonderful day. ❤
